Opera Mate

Opera Mate has to macerate. When I first bought this perfume I didn't know if I liked it or not. After owning the perfume for almost a year, I tried it again, wanting a warm vanilla-caramel scent, and this is it. The smells I didn't like when I first bought it are gone. This perfume is gorgeous, with tons of complaints. There is nothing synthetic in this perfume!!! I hate that this perfume doesn't get the hype it deserves. Beautiful!!!!

I really like this one. At first it wasn't super impressive but I put on my suit a day or two later after wearing it one day and could smell it and was panicking cause I couldn't remember what fragrance it was. So happy I found it again. At times, it's just perfect. The caramel and chestnut. Plus it's so different from anything I own when I just wanna change it up. Wish it was less expensive though.

Bit similar to Eldo's Frustration but this one is much more refined, bright, bit green-ish and beautiful. This combo of sweet and green is so unique. Quite a realistic accord of creme brulee as well. It's a fantastic release (as usual). However, it costs a lot 😅

Realistic roasted chestnut with an addictive creamy vibe, it indeed has that creme brulee note. Each time I smell this fragrance, I get more obsessed with it. Super addictive and not overly sweet at all. Performance really good. Super Underrated.

I bought a sample of this perfume, and this is a love at second-third sight. Very strange and interesting the roasted chestnut, but the drydown is beautiful, comforting and cozy, a had to change my opinion from like to love ❤️

Christmas in a bottle! I would classify this as a gourmand as the chestnut and crème brûlée notes are wrapped in warm labdanum. Extremely warm, inviting and long lasting. Definitely a cold weather scent, but perfectly unisex.

Smells exactly like roasted chestnuts in the opening which i loved, very unique almost earthy vanilla sort of scent. love it on my skin. i'm new to the fragrance game so will update as i learn. so far my favorite

One of few gourmands that legit smell like I can eat them. The most Christmasy fragrance I've smelled yet

8.2/10. Very unique scent profile, I personally get a mix of citrus zest and caramel mixed with creme brulee. The dry-down is a bit too sweet for me and does not work on my skin very well, but it is a very beautiful fragrance, it is like a darker version of Honor & Glory. For the first 5 minutes it may seem very dry and seude/chestnut dominated, but after that, it becomes way more open and aromatic with some kind of zest. I am not sure if that is just me, but the davana seems to be a bit harsh/bitter on the dry-down.

To my nose, Opera Mate is sweeter and more feminine leaning than Amore Caffe by Mancera, but they both play in the same space. In my opinion, if you have one you don't need the other. If I had to choose, I'd probably go with Amore Caffe over this one. There is something about the opening that reminds me of those overly sweet women's perfumes from decades past. Go light on the sprays to avoid giving yourself a headache.

I sampled this in store. There’s something about this I enjoy. I used to be a gourmand scent person but in the last few years many gourmands make me nauseous. I let this sit on my skin during a train ride and I enjoyed it. I purchased a full bottle of this on a discounter and hopefully I’ll get to wear this more and I’ll provide an update.

Had this for a few months now and I must say it wasn’t a love at first sniff so give it some time before calling quits but keep in mind I’m not a fan of Labdanum or chestnut but I must say I enjoy this one a lot it’s very realistic and unique and I would say it’s worth 200 but not 395! What I got out of this was Caramel and chestnut and Labdanum and Vetiver and suede and something else I just can’t place my finger on it. But this is not a good blind buy but I must say this fragrance house hasn’t disappointed me yet!

Sooo, this is my first mind games bottle. I got it for $165 and I think it’s worth that price. Hazelnut is a favorite note for me and this is warm and masterfully done. The fragrance is very high-end. But the dry down smells like a used hamster cage

Chestnut, caramel and licorice? good and all but not one I'd reach for myself.

Tasteless, bitter, and sweet in the worst way. There’s a sharp haze of burnt tar mixed with the stale stench of an uncleaned AC vent, wrapping the space in a suffocating heaviness, like stepping into an overpacked vape shop where the smoke clings to your clothes. Burnt chestnut shells linger in the corners, and the guy behind the counter is eating a dessert that’s supposed to smell like crème brûlée but somehow doesn’t. There’s also this stale, leathery undertone, like sinking into an old leather sofa that hasn’t been cared for in years. Easily the worst release from Mind Games so far, and it never redeems itself on skin. It might open up better in an airy environment where the breeze softens its heaviness, but wear this in an elevator and you’ll suffocate everyone. What a nightmare!

I’m so glad a sample came along with this fragrance because this is not good at all. It has an indescribable smell, sweet, thick and weird smelling. It doesn’t smell edible or like anything I would ever consider putting in my mouth but it’s definitely sweet smelling but nauseating for sure.

Too literal gourmand. It smells like a dessert I dislike. It is a thick creamy smell. Nauseating.

One of the most vomit-inducing perfumes I’ve ever smelled in my life... and I’ve smelled plenty. Unbelievably stinky.

I put this on my radar for the notes, then blind bought a 10ml from a somewhat sketchy decant site. The juices are legit but everything else is very cheap- which explains good/great pricing. The decant pump has a very light mist- making this juice somewhat sheer/light to wear. My first wear didn't impress me, but as the decant sat- it got better. Perfectly unisex gourmand with a chestnut that reminds me of Interlude Woman. Not foodie, very well blended into sweet suede luxury. I hate myself, but found a very very great priced bottle on the grey market. I cannot wait!

This smells like a very unique, but unfortunately long discontinued celeb perfume, With Love by Hillary Duff! I still have my bottle so I can compare side by side. A very woody, very unique sightly sweet perfume. It's not gourmand it's woody with slightly sweet qualities. Perfect fall and winter perfume but I can see it working for spring summer too, it's not super heavy. I've always said that With Love has niche perfume vibes so now I feel validated lol.

Ok. I will add that i am relatively new at the fragrance game. However, after spraying this at work tonight, I had several workmates simply say that they wanted to take a bite of it . That seems like a good thing. It really is delicious. Yes. It's Gourmandish. But yum!! It has this sweet accord mixed with sophistication. Have i smelled Mancerra. No. Do I have to? I don't know. This is pretty juice. I think that's enough.

Wow, this is very different...this whole year has been about nutty fragrances, but I have never smelt something with as much of a nut note as this. It actually comes off as a milky note, with roasted chestnut and davana. Very interesting. Not sure if I like it or not, but I don't dislike it. I do think that this can come off as quite plasticky though.

Finally got to sample this a few weeks ago. It took a while to get to stores. I do like it and think it smells a lot like Bond No 9 New Haarlem. Maple syrup and chocolate in the opening, gets nuttier in the dry down. Don’t know if I’d pick this over B9 but still a nice release nonetheless.

I haven’t worn this but smelled it on someone else and in the air. I would have never guessed the notes. Opera Mate literally smells like a very powdery, heavy incense in the air. I came to check the notes because of how good it smelled! Not a trace of gourmand or Christmas! Lol

VERY FOODY. It is not bad, I can surely smell chestnud and creme brulee, but it is too foody to wear. The opening is extremely nauseating, but it gets softer in the drydown. I like the drydown more. Similar DNA to Sissa I think, but way sweeter and foodier.

This is everything I had hoped Madeleine would be, but no, cumin had other plans. I’m so happy I discovered Opera Mate and it was an instant purchase! That roasted chestnut note is divine!

Ts is DOOKIE bruh. Why is chestnut even a fragrance note when most of the time it smells like it came out of a squirrel's ass.

Knowing mind games this is probably amazing.

I really like this. Full stop.
