Prodigy

It's been a while since I wrote a review but this scent is so delectable, so comforting that I can't not write about it. The fact that the 'creamy caffe latte' note is not listed on Fragrantica is a huge miss in my opinion. The bottle says rose absolute / patchouli as main notes and they're right, but the way the blonde woods and vanilla and whatever else they put in that evokes that creamy creamy coffee note is what makes this scent unique and shine. It's what makes me go back to my sample over and over, and smile in delight when I catch it lingering on the pyjamas I wore last night, or a shawl or even on myself when I wake up in the morning. Because it lasts and it radiates just the right amount. The rose is not green, it's not juicy, or anything else, because it's not a recreation of rose with some facet amplified. It's rose absolute, rose petals in all it's beautiful natural facets. In a milk bath? Perhaps, but that would be missing the depth of the woods, the coffee, the spices that bring warmth to this delight. In fact, I suspect the Longoza may play a bigger part in this creamy, spicy rose than we realise. To me it's a freshly picked rose, on the side of a cup of the freshest hazelnut latte, with cream on top, and a dusting of cocoa, in a cosy wooden cabin coffee house somewhere in the woods. I realise I'm raving a bit. I even tried disliking this scent because of its ridiculous price tag. It's overpriced only because no scent should be this expensive. But.. I'm likely going to get a bottle regardless, once I can afford the expense. It's summer now, but I bet come autumn this is going to be an even bigger favourite. I may even give my bottle of Intoxicated by Kilian (my previous go to warming, comforting, amazing coffee scent) to my boyfriend. ... maybe. They have many similar notes, but it's the rose that makes the difference. Still, why not alternate both, they’re easily different enough. EDIT: I’ve been grabbing my sample day after day since writing this 10 days ago, there’s another thing I love about it: you keep smelling it. Silage is perfect to not be offensive, and it lasts forever and ever. The entire day with every breath in its there, and still I don’t get tired of it, I only want more.

I tend to find Mind Games as a house is a little overrated. All of their fragrances are above average to be sure but $400 a pop is a *lot* of money and I wasn't feeling the hype that others were about most of them. Needless to say I wasn't expecting much when I heard they have a new pair coming in at half a grand each. Now that I have not just smelled Prodigy on paper but also worn it on skin for a couple days, I can say without a doubt that 100% I was wrong, this fragrance actually is that good and if you haven't experienced it you need to go do so right now. It's not even fair to call it good; it's great, or probably whatever comes after great. Brilliant? That sounds right. The rose mixed with the blonde woods and sandalwood give it a strong but warm earthy base, and the sweetness of the vanilla and cardamom pull those aromas together into something of an earthy gourmand. Scrolling through these reviews, many have likened it to some variety of latte. I want to emphasize that this is not a coffee fragrance, but the woods and patchouli give it the rich earthiness you might identify with coffee and the vanilla and cardamom the warmth and sweetness of the creamer. The drydown is an elegant deconstruction of the blend: the vanilla bounds forward and takes most of the attention, appropriately as after a long day the soft vanilla is something of a comfort. Patchouli and sandalwood work together to maintain an earthy feel. Most importantly for me, the drydown is exquisitely smooth. There's no roughness whatsoever. With the disclosure that rose, vanilla, and sandalwood are three of my favourite notes ever, I'd go as far as to say this is one of the best fragrances I have ever experienced.

I find this to be a pleasant scent. Top notes are a little bit of a turn off as they smell chemical - but it warms quickly to something I enjoy smelling. My son and husband both liked the scent on me. I did not find it had good siliage or projection and was confused how anyone could rate it highly in those regards here. I kept wanting to smell more of it and I had to really dig my nose in my wrist to get it. And I layered it on pretty well. I found it to be pleasing, a close intimate scent. A netflix and popcorn new relationship hanging on the couch after date night smell. Comfortable, not challenging or intriguing. No curious side-eye with this perfume. Just a warm glance, inviting. I like it but I don't think I would buy a bottle myself due to the price. If I found a secondhand bottle for a great price I'd definitely buy it though. It just doesn't last long enough or have the projection and complexity I am looking for with the attached price tag for Prodigy Mind Games. It leans more feminine but is pretty mid road for unisex. I think it would be best on a young man or teenage male. I could see my 16 yo son wearing it. But not my 50+ manly man husband.

Note: there is a prominent caffe latte note in this--it's just not listed on Fragrantica. Look on Mind Games official website for the correct notes. This is one of the most unique fragrances I have. It's really beautiful. However, know that its opening is pretty much just a rose/patchouli bomb, and it's a 4/10. But, after the first 5-10 minutes, I swear it morphs into an almost entirely new fragrance; the best way I can describe it is milk-dipped rose petals with hints of vanilla and woods, grounded by this sort of soft and creamy caffe latte nuance to it. This is some shit Aphrodite or Cleopatra would wear. Also, this is legitimately the best performing fragrance in my entire collection. The sillage is a moderate strong, which for me is the goldilocks zone for fragrance sillages. On skin, I could still smell this shit 12-16 hours after putting it on, and on clothes, this literally lasts days. To me this is definitely feminine leaning because of the rose, but guys can definitely pull this off. Also, it doesn't work in hot weather. 10/10 (after first 5-10 minutes).

Prodigy - what a beautiful composition. Milky Rose, some spices, light touch of citrus in the background... a patchouli note that is bit chocolaty to me... all leading to a plush landing in a bed of vanilla and some grounding woods... so tastefully executed. This perfume to me feels sexy-smooth, warm and well rounded, and like how no notes try to dominate or stick out, with Rose being a guide - rather than a dominatrix. Addicting and enveloping scent bubble that I hesitate to lose in the end of day shower and wish to sleep in through the night. And wonder if it will affect my dreams;) It lingers - no need to overspray. Prodigy is one of those rare fragrances that slow down my hectic brain, make me want to be softer, slow down and just breathe a little deeper. Tried hard not to like it, but so obviously failed.

Prodigy really caught me off guard, I was randomly sent it along with a couple other scents from mind games. I never heard of the brand before and did not expect for this one to become my new signature scent. I’m kind of mad I love it so much because now I’m obsessed with an almost $500 perfume that I can’t be without 😩 thankfully it SMELLS EXPENSIVE, as it SHOULD because it IS expensive. It projects, it lasts, I can smell every single note as this fragrance tells my nose a story. I save this for big events, third dates, places where I want to show up with extra aura points. This perfume gives ultra-modern-cool-and-SEXY-GROWN WOMAN. I get many compliments when wearing this, one I remember is someone saying I smell good enough to eat.

Mind Games sent me a sample of Prodigy when it first launched. I was totally blown away and within a couple of weeks, I purchased a FB. On my skin, this is probably the most sensual and mysterious rose-centered fragrance in my collection. There is so much depth and quality in this juice. And the patchouli just grounds all of it. It does get sweeter on my skin as time goes on, but that's what I love about it. I'm not quite familiar with Longoza flower in perfumery but sheesh, I want more of it as I think it adds to the uniqueness of the fragrance. Prodigy is not a linear fragrance in the least and could easily become my new signature scent. Prodigy is too expensive and unique to BB, so I highly recommend that you sample first.

definitely a rose patchouli bomb in the opening BUT not in an overwhelming way. i am normally a patchouli hater but i still think this is lovely. but about 5 minutes later the dry down comes in which is the real magic. it is a creamy caramel rose with a little coffee vibe and the smoothest sandalwood. lasts a good 7 hours on my skin and longer longevity on clothes of course. it ridiculously expensive so i wouldn't purchase unless you find if for a good price but it is so yummy.

I don’t agree that this smells like Delina but we are all entitled to our opinions. I have had this for a couple of months and I do love it but I love Mentor more. This one is hard for me to describe but I’ll try. It’s a milky/powdery rose with a creamy feel. The blond woods really balance out the floral aspects making it appropriate for all seasons except summer. It is more feminine to me but wear what you love right?

I can see why there is a comparison to Noble Blush but this is much more sophisticated and softer than noble blush. The cardamom note makes this a beautiful winter perfume. I have both. I wear noble blush when I want to feel more playful and during the day and Prodigy when I want to feel grown and sexy at night. Both feminine but Prodigy is Noble Blush's older, more sophisticated sister.

A warmer, denser, creamier Delina exclusif with a toasty nuance! It’s beautiful, perfection, amazing!!! It doesn’t have the rosy sourness Delina has. This lingers forever creating a strong scent bubble. Feels cozy and elevated. If you have Delina you also need this! You will love it! If you have or know Sissa from Mind Games, this is basically Sissa and Delina combined.

Greatest fragrance of all time! It smells as if an angel farted out a creamy vanilla and rose cafe latte milkshake and the clouds parted in the sky as the bottle flew in like Thor's hammer. Pretty strong sillage and lasts longer than the hulk in bed. The rose and patchouli oil it comes with make it so much more unique and makes me reach my climax. Worth every penny.

This fragrance is so good, but it is definitely not meant for school or office wear. It wasn’t built to be something you wear casually, it was made for wearing a suit and tie at a dinner party or fancy restaurant. Still very good, just too strong not to get everyone’s attention.

This is a really beautiful sandalwood and rose combo fragrance. However, it resembles intense café a little too much. I love it, but I already have something similar for a lot less money. It’s definitely worth trying out.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A masterpiece. Legit smells like a rose petal dipped into Aphrodite's milky bath. Literally lasted a day and a half on my skin after two showers. Projects like crazy as well, insane of compliments as soon as I started wearing it.

rose, cardamom, and woody upon first sniff. excellent use of vanilla perfect for vanilla haters. vanilla & patchouli dry down, vanilla as in extract not cupcake. very deep and changes into something warmer as the day winds down

incredible fragrance. its a lot more rose prominent than i was expecting. and it smells insanely similar to PDM Delina Exclusif. but this is just sliiiiightly less feminine and has a slight toastiness to it.

I can see the comparisons to Impadia and Newcleus (I own all three) but this is the most interesting. I changes as it wears and I’m enjoying the ride. This was a successful blind buy for me.

hazelnut, rose, vanilla. i want it so bad ts is not funny. slightly feminine but it works so well i would rock it. creamy rose with nutty nuances. 9.5/10

Mind Games Prodigy is my favorite fragrance of all time. Creamy woods and very sweet. Also lasts and projects forever.

A true masterpiece and ultra sexy smell, a beautiful looking bottle is cherry on cake, 10/10

Hmm hard to describe probably because this doesn’t smell like I thought it would. Rose stems, citrus, nuttiness, some sort of vanilla cocoa blend accord. After the opening I am left with a powdery rose. I picture rose petal jam. This is nice, It is wearable, but it isn’t different. It just does not feel like it is worth the price. I can only put it in terms of Chanel’s Les Exclusifs line. When I wear Le Lion or Coromandel there is a recognizable DNA in the smell and they both have a rich feel to them, almost like I can feel the history and complete marketing portfolio of the company coming out of the nozzle. It could totally be in my head, and probably is, but regardless. I smell the Chanel and my mind says yes this is distinctive, quality, special and worth the money. I smell this and I think very nice, but that is it. Perhaps this is because there are a surfeit of good rose fragrances on the market at a variety of price points but there is only one Le Lion. Give it a shot. It is a very nice rose scent. I would be tempted to layer this with anything people layer rose with but for the performance. This stuff is radio active. It projects hard for ten hours then begins to fade. I think my hang up with the price point is I perceive this as being a very simple fragrance after the first hour. You want my money? I am going to need more complexity or more volume from those hidden notes if those notes are there in the first place. 27 hours later this is a nice vanilla skin scent.

You can truly sense the note of creamy latte in it. The rose comes through very softly—it doesn’t take center stage but blends beautifully with the other components, dissolving into the background. The patchouli in this fragrance has a resemblance to the scent of dark chocolate. The base is magnificent, adding even more softness, creaminess, and a slight powdery touch to the scent. The composition feels very well-balanced and luxurious! I see this fragrance as more suited for the cooler seasons, as it wraps you in its warm embrace like a cashmere sweater.

Fragrance smells nice and I enjoy wearing it. However, my bottle came with the sprayer skewed. Definitely, does not give lux vibes and not worth full price of £360 because of the quality of the bottle. Personally, I think Impadia is in similar realm to Prodigy and you can buy 100ml for £144. IMO I would choose Impadia over Prodigy.

The drydown is where it's at! The opening is not my favorite, but it turns into a beautiful milky rose that I can't stop sniffing. I don't get much patchouli outside of a short blast in the opening - as a patchouli hater, I can handle this.

Rose, Patchouli, spices and wood. It is nice, rich and elegant. Definitely a good option for the darker autumn/winter evenings. One of the better ones from Mind Games.

Prodigy and Xerjoff Newcleus are almost identical!

The gingery longoza is so fun! It's a safe kind of scent, rose and bergamot are a combo you find a lot but this is more like rose buds rather than a full bloom. Feminine, pretty but with a small, light edge of spritzy spice. I wouldn't buy a full bottle but it is definitely nice. Maybe a champagne note should be here?

A creamy, powdery rose, with the woods giving it an almost masculine twist; there's something reminiscent of smoke and suede. Imagine layering Valentino Donna and Givenchy Hot Couture with Delina Exclusif, that's pretty much what you get with Prodigy. It lacks originality and character, it's just trying too hard.

Prodigy reminds me of something I would've loved to wear when I was younger. Then, the gourmand vibe comes through (and I am not a gourmand girly). I liked something in the initial spritz, but the edible nature of the drydown is not for me.

I feel sorry for all of you that think this is the best rose perfume you’ve ever had. You obviously haven’t had many. This is an extremely overpriced ok of a perfume . I’d pay at most $200 for this perfume. Any more and it’s a rip off

Vanilla, minimalist rose, and dry woods. Not anything crazy. Meh, not for me.

I’m not sure if it was a bad batch, but this fragrance smelled like a piss soaked rose with mold. I was very disappointed 😢

When i tried this in store, to me it smelled like a latex glove, gas station coffee and weird sterile florals.

Absurdly potent AMBROXAN with rose with vanilla. I also get a strong chocolate smell for some reason. It’s so damned strong that you will likely get a migraine from it and you’ll need a sandblaster to get it off your skin. If you ever wore this in public everyone within a mile will despise you. I can't understand why the note of ambroxan is so often used in such a heavy handed way. It's almost toxic. And the worst part is that it just smells exactly like every other boring designer fragrance out there.

This is a great fragrance quality wise but it’s not for me. It’s way too woody and patch heavy for my taste and the rose in here isn’t how I like my rose to be just like how it was in Xerjoff Nucelus, which is a fragrance this has a lot in common with but not identical. I’d pick this one over Nucleus though for sure. I’m surprised how well this performs considering I’ve tried many mind games scents that all have had weak performance but this is a beast. I only sprayed 3 times on my skin only and it projected all evening and I could smell it the whole week afterwards on the blanket I must have transferred some on too while lounging. If you’re looking for a super feminine, youthful rose scent this isn’t that, to me this is a more mature and sophisticated type of rose scent that’s heavy on the rose, patch and woody notes. Unisex for sure. I do get a milky coffee quality mixed in there too faintly but the woods drown that out on my skin quite a bit but I get hints of it in the background. Overall Prodigy is a 10 out of 10 objectively speaking because it’s the best I’ve tried in it’s class and I think it’s definitely worth the money if you’re into this type of scent profile but it’s just not my style.

Prodigy opens with a bright rose and bergamot in a veil of milky vanilla. The rose and spiciness from longoza pierces through more into the dry down, but the vanilla remains a dense cloud of sweetness that never really quite goes away, adding an unmistakable gourmand quality. There is also a powderiness that lingers in the background. I found Prodigy gender neutral, right up until the floral notes shifted to the forefront. Still a beautiful fragrance however, but one more suitable for a woman or if you’re seeking a vanillic rose. Easily one of Mind Games’ more attractive and better performing offerings. I imagine this is what Cleopatra’s rose-milk baths smelled like.

Was a tad bit sceptical of this on my first smell - made me very anxious, as it was a blind buy 😳 - although, luckily over the last 48 hours it has very much opened up to me, and I feel I now understand it and very much like it . It opens with a very powerful note of coffee, and a subtle yet delightful note of rose . This then, for me, dries down to just straight up vanilla and chocolate, with a slight tinge of coffee . Though the opening, I have to say, is absolutely polarising, it dries down beautifully ( in all capitals ) after, I'd say about the first 20 minutes .

Comments like the one below saying they would pay at most two hundred for this and then calling it an 'ok' perfume lol. I aint paying 2 hundy for anything that's just ok. To each their own, I guess. On to the review... I absolutely get chocolate vibes from this one. It's gotta be from that patchouli. A sort of cafe mocha kind of chocolate. Mixed with the vanilla it's giving an almost ice cream sweetness, definitely gourmand rose. Wearing side by side with Akro Crush and I think I might actually prefer Prodigy. Feminine for sure, but I still love wearing it.

On initial spray I wasn't particularly impressed, but I've learned over the years that first impressions aren't always the best to judge a fragrance by. Once this dries down, I primarily get the most beautiful milky rose scent. Like lush pink rose petals that have been steeped in milk. So it's not the petals themselves, but their scent that's been left behind and infused with the lactonic quality of the milk. It does indeed smell very very similar to Noble Blush in the pink bottle, but Prodigy is a bit milkier and much smoother.

This is by far one of the most complex scents I have ever smelled. Opens with a bit of spice and patchouli, which I'm not the biggest fan of honestly, but the dry down is where it's at. It turns into the most expensive, complex milky latte. Performance is crazy strong, 8+ hours minimum, more like 10-12. I'm a huge fan of vanilla gourmands and have sampled dozens of them, but haven't smelled something like this before. Because of its uniqueness, I wouldn't say it's blind buy safe, but some people will absolutely love this scent.

Someone please tell me why I only get sandalwood on my skin??🤷🏼🤔 I'd love to experience some of the other notes, even the rose. But I get only masculine-smelling pickle-ish sandalwood. 40 min into the drydown now. Edited to add - 3+ hours later and the one spray from a 2ml sample has calmed down and transitioned into the most beautiful pungent yet sexy ambroxan. Further testing is needed, but I sense this is a long-game fragrance, not a capture you in the opening type.

The opening of this fragrance, seconds upon spraying it, is a parade of smooth vanilla, a very refined rose and a sharp * very sharp * dose of coffee and maybe the smallest fraction of chocolate . Patchouli is a main motif that lingers throughout the entirety of the fragrance, although the decadent, yet slightly sickly vanilla and rose is what remains the main charecter . So unique and desperately original . I love it .

Prodigy definitely favors Xerjoff’s Newcleus, but Newcleus is sweeter, rosier and more syrupy while Prodigy is a bit creamer and woodier. It has a very muted/not tart Roses Vanille DNA that’s in sooo many coffee-centric niche fragrances nowadays. I don’t like it and do not think it is worth all the hype, but I should have seen “blond woods” in the note breakdown and realized this wouldn’t be for me.

This is signature-scent worthy—truly that good. I’ve already decided this will be my wedding fragrance. The rose melts seamlessly into patchouli, while the blonde woods and sandalwood round it out into a creamy rose-latte warmth. The longevity is absolutely there. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but when it’s done right, I don’t mind paying for quality. And this? It’s done right.

I'm surprised this isn't more popular given how many rose scents PDM has. This rose is beautiful and feels like a true niche fragrance with its complex evolution. The presentation is amazing: it comes with the perfume, rose and patchouli extracts, and scent strips for layering. I found it via a sample and fell in love instantly. This house is definitely on my radar now

Easily top 3 in my opinion, and that’s coming from a guy that’s not the biggest rose fan. Reminds me of a festive vanilla shake. Smells like a warm hug to me. It also lasts long on skin, and on clothes???? Eternal!! Hahah. I usually am not a fan of blind buying, but if you love vanilla, this would be my bet!! 10/10 overall, and there’s only a few of these I’d give!!!
