Queenside

I had the rare pleasure of attending an incredible scent experience yesterday at Neiman Marcus in Orlando at the Mall at Millenia hosted by Patricia, the radiant Mind Games representative, and our gracious as always Neiman's Frangrance Concierge, Ivelice. Queenside was already on my radar when I entered the store, but what I experienced far exceeded anything I've encountered in perfumery before. We began with raw patchouli that we were able to smell on its own. It was green and earthy almost like damp earth after a rain. From there, Patricia guided us through a beautifully structured scent deconstruction. Each layer of Queenside was laid before us in top, heart and base notes. The top notes of black currant, lychee, and pear were presented individually, giving us the chance to smell their distinct brightness. Each fruit sparkling in its own unique way. Then came the heart: a tender blend of geranium, lily of the valley, and violet, delicate yet confident, blooming with regal poise. And finally, the drydown, where patchouli, oakmoss, and musk took the lead, wrapping everything in a smooth, mossy finish that lingered beautifully on the skin. What made this experience truly extraordinary was the interactive tasting element: we sampled wafers kissed with drops of lychee and then black currant oils while breathing in the fragrance. This multisensory experience amplified each note. Scent became flavor and flavor returned to scent. It was nothing short of magic. I cannot thank Patricia enough for the time invested and the knowledge she imparted. It was an experience I'll remember every time I wear Queenside. I naturally purchased on the spot. Now, on to my impressions of the fragrance: Queenside opens with a delicious and juicy fruity accord, the lychee and black currant pairing as tart and elegant as a wine-soaked memory. As it settles, the oakmoss and patchouli do the heavy lifting, giving depth and structure while the musk helps to soften the edges. This is a chess queen in perfume form: graceful, commanding, and unexpectedly powerful in the final moves. She is a queen's gaze, soft until she isn't. 10/10 Additional thoughts after a few days of wear: I’ve never received this many compliments on a fragrance—and I own nearly 200. Every time I stood near someone, it was immediately followed by a “Oh wow, what are you wearing?” or “My god... you smell incredible.” It’s not just noticeable. It’s irresistible.

This fragrance is so well balanced and beautiful. It's elegant, classy, long lasting, and an absolute delight. I was blessed to receive this perfume for my birthday.

This is beautiful. Very sweet fruity floral with patchouli. The fruits do not smell artificial.

I like it a lot, it's a pleasant bosslady fruity perfume, but 1/ the first few hours smell quite "generic conventional feminine" to me and 2/ it kinda feels like a designer perfume with the price point of a nich perfume. I do think that the drydown makes it different from other perfumes I've tried in the same genre, but not sure whether that's enough for me to justify the price of a full bottle.

The opening of Queenside is pretty sour on my skin. I also get pretty strong synthetic vibe. However, it gets smoother and softer toward mid and dry-down. I do not get Kirke from it, but in the dry-down, I do get a bit of Coco Mademoiselle in its early iterations from the early and mid 2000 (a little something something, not a strong resemblance), and I sort of enjoy it. I can’t say that I don’t like it or that it is bad, quieter the opposite. However, I do find it extremely expansive for what it is. If I would get a free bottle, I would certainly ware it and rave about it, but I am not willing to spend my own money on a full bottle. I can see others really liking it though, as it is a feminine fragrance that can work well in warmer weather. But it can also work for spring and fall. I recommend sampling this one as I don’t feel like it is a safe blind buy for the price. I have cold skin type and I get pretty good longevity and moderate projection initially. I tried it in the evening and woke up to a skin scent still being there overnight.

This is a very fruity perfume. Mostly, I sense pear, black currant, and lychee. I don’t think I would buy it because it’s super expensive for something that doesn’t blow my mind. I’m mostly a vanilla girl, though I have some perfumes that are atypical for me. But if you like fruity, fresh perfumes, you should definitely try this one. I’m also not sure why this is listed as unisex. If you ask me, it’s for women only.

This is pretty and mass appealing. An airy and innocent sweet fruity fragrance. It’s light and well balanced.. I couldn’t say there’s anything wrong with it, there’s just nothing super special about it to justify the price tag, imo.

Lychee and Geranium, nice and elegant, but for the price there is a lot of better options.

I thought I would enjoy this way more but there is something medicinal and mentholated in here that I dislike and it tickles my nose!

This one lasted about 5 minutes on me. Not a fan

Based on the notes I was not prepared for the sweetness level. This to my nose is extremely sweet. Attrape Reves is also sweet, but this one ups it up a notch, to the point that I find it juvenile. This is not to say that this is a bad fragrance. It’s a very (very) mass appealing fruity floral. But there are so many more affordable options in this scent profile that I could never purchase this one.

Very nice, but of the fruity mind games fragrances, french defense, j'adoube, counterplay and blockade are all better.

We added this but not the two fragrances that have been out for over 6 months(Opera Mate & Counterplay)???

Why is Counterplay and Opera Mate still not on here but these two new ones are!? 😑
