Sahel

Reviewing a sample from 2023. Sahel was launched in 2016. This is a beautiful honey- tobacco- wood fragrance Sahel opens with fresh cut tobacco sweetened by an authentic honey accord. Smooth oud, vannilic amber and sandalwood support the base. Very nice dry down with spicy and aromatic woods. The tobacco and honey remind me of Sexual Healing by Art meets Art . Sahel has less beeswax but a richer heavier base of aromatic woods. Quality- very good Unisex- leans masculine Performance- very good Gorgeous dense honey/ tobacco fragrance with a nice finish. Worth sampling if you can find it. 8/10

I have both this and Vesevo and I like both equally well. Sahel is more flexible and sweeter but definitely not sweet. Mine makes really nice, unique and very wearable fragrances.

Oud and tobacco with a touch of sweetness. Comparing with the brand’s other ouds: “Oud” is the most easygoing, sweet and fruity, clean woods, rounded. “Vesevo” is the opposite, earthy and smoky, unforgiving but fascinating. Sahel goes right down the middle, similar slightly sharp oud note as in Vesevo, well-blended with spices and sweetness. It reminds me of Montale and Mancera’s better ouds (say Aoud Exclusif for example). Also like those brands, these are linear but very long-lasting. Personally I like Vesevo best but I’m weird like that. Between the three there should be one to suit anyone looking for a fall/winter oud scent.

Very spicy, licorice-like tobacco. I really enjoy how it's balanced out by the honey here, the harshness really reminds me of Xerjoff Gao. I only really start to get the oud as it dries down, and the licoriceness kinda dies away. It's really not a bad oud, similar to one of the amouage oils, I don't remember which though. This stuff really lasts forever. Especially on clothes, it really is nuclear!
