Vanilla Smoke

Vanilla Smoke opens far less softly than its name suggests. The sharp lift of citrus and the dry edge of tobacco briefly give me a spicy impression reminiscent of cumin. It is not listed among the official notes, but that unexpected opening is what first made the fragrance so interesting to me. As it develops, the spice gradually softens and vanilla and sandalwood begin to emerge through the tobacco smoke. This is not a fluffy or dessert-like vanilla, but something darker: vanilla seeping into smoke and dry wood. The sweetness stays restrained, while the tobacco and smoky woods give the fragrance depth and a slightly cool, tense character. In the drydown, the sharper edges settle into soft sandalwood and a subtle trace of vanilla. The contrast between the opening and drydown is quite noticeable, which makes the development especially enjoyable to follow. I usually prefer vanilla fragrances that are smoky, woody and slightly darker, so this was very much to my taste. After finishing the vial, I understood why I kept thinking about it. The dark vanilla, smoky tobacco and unexpected spice make it a fragrance that lingers in the mind.

After the sample set Sweet and Warm I loved Vesevo. But Vanilla smoke was love at first sniff. a beautiful package with a 50 ml bottle arrived last week:) I will defenitely also try the other two sets; my mononotes and fresh and pungent. They are on the wishlist after receiving some delicious samples like tuberose. Not being a big fan of tuberose, this one is very nicde on me. Curious about other opinions concerning Mine Perfume lab!

Very nice tobacco and vanilla smell that dries down very woody with hints of whiskey.

A lovely vetiver/tobacco/citrus. The fragrance feels very familiar but I'm not sure if there's one specific scent I can point to. There's a creamy vanilla orange in the opening that reminds me of Sunshine Man, and then, maybe a touch of Bal D'Afrique mixed with tobacco. Overall one of the winners from the brand, attractive, long-lasting, worthy of a full bottle.
