Miu Miu L’Eau Bleue

L'Eau Bleue is, without a doubt, my favorite "modern"/"non-vintage" lily-of-the-valley fragrance (my absolute, all-time favorite being the long-discontinued Coty Muguet des Bois). I tested the original Miu Miu and L'Eau Bleue at the same time, and this is the one I ended up buying. Throughout the evolution of this perfume, there is never any doubt that LOTV is the star of the show. Yes, it is backed up by a hint of modern aquatic freshness, occasional whiffs of crisp, green flower stems, and the peppery -- and amazingly pleasant -- bite of akigalawood (which provides backbone to the scent and, I feel, gives it a welcome boost in the longevity department), but the heavenly fragrance of those delicate little bell-shaped blossoms never fades or disappears into the background. L'Eau Bleue never *stops* being about lily-of-the-valley, and that's what I love most about it. The supporting notes do just that -- they support the main player, but they don't try to hog the spotlight. While we're at it, let's talk abut longevity, shall we? I get all-day wear out of this, which is impressive; in fact, my little 30ml bottle, which I purchased when it was first available (so, early 2017?), is still more than half-full, and that's not because it's been languishing in my perfume drawer for five years (believe me, it hasn't been neglected). I don't need to bathe in this stuff in order to obtain the desired effect -- which, let's face it, is awesome, because perfume can be expensive. For me, this one was a good investment. The overall impression this perfume gives is one that's clean, fresh, and floral. It conjures images of springtime and sunny, yet still "cool and dewy" mornings. While I'm more *likely* to wear it in spring and early summer (often, I'll turn to this in March/April/early May, when I'm anticipating the arrival of spring and impatiently waiting for the moment when the real LOTV blossoms show up), I don't feel as though I *need* to restrict my use of this to a specific time of year or temperature. (I'm wearing it today... it's August... and it's performing like a champ. If you love it, wear it.)

Summer-targeted perfumes never impress me before. I was actually hesitant to blind buy this, especially because the notes are mostly the same to other summer perfumes; throw some white flowers, add water-based notes, and maybe some greenery. Me, as a narcissist, am not going to let myself smell similar to others, or so I thought. Girly, I was wrong. This one is simply beautiful. Imagine a warm day on a rocky beach, a girl in her 20's, wearing summer dress, sitting on a bench, enjoying the afternoon. The sky is blue, her laughs are joyous, free, like nothing weighing on her heart. The wind was blowing from up the flowery hill towards the beach. Sunset is coming and everyone know this sunset will be better than most days. Life is easy and that is enough. That's L'Eau Bleue, or Blue Water. Whether you want to be that girl or a spectator of such beauty, those are the experience you're going to get while wearing or smelling this perfume. Get the tester on a warm day and I know you'll be smiling. One thing, with this perfume, wind is your friend. So make sure you stand in a good circulated room, sit on the window sill or bring your own blower or fan (I know I will)

What a lovely, unexpected scent! The bottle and marketing do this no favours; the only thing that resonates is the cool blue of the bottle. On me, this is a very green, icy, woody, wild lily of the valley. I see a little wooden cabin in the forest, with frost sparkling on the grass, the sun just starting to rise, and a patch of delicate lilies of the valley glittering in the dappled light. The green and aquatic notes, combined with the peppery wood, make this a very natural floral. It's the flowers in situ, not a giant bouquet of glasshouse blooms. The Diorissimo comparisons are inevitable but they're almost like archetypal opposites, imo. Diorissimo is a golden, velvety, sappy cloud (I'm thinking primarily of my 1960s era vintage, and 2008ish EDP). L'eau Bleue is a delicate, icy mist. Diorissimo in its contemporary forms is a bit dense and screechy for my taste, whereas I find L'eau Bleue just keeps her nose beneath that line. She's very refreshing and crisp, but not sharp. Longevity and sillage both surprised me -- both are average to good on me. :)

One fateful day when decluttering old Sephora samples I found a tiny rollerball sample of L’Eau Bleue, and now almost a decade later it remains as one of my all time favorite perfumes. I absolutely love this. I can see how on some people this would pull too powdery or "old lady" like but I truly do find this to be a gorgeous scent for every season. The freshness of the florals along with the almost boozy wood (and maybe pink pepper?) creates this pleasant profile that I would argue is unisex. If you're one of those people who likes when your perfumes sink into your clothes (and especially your sweaters in fall) this is perfect. L’Eau Bleue is my go to for family brunches, nights out wandering the city, and snuggling intimately with a partner. I also have the original Miu Miu, which yes smells fairly similar, but imo that smells more like funeral parlor florals with a sharp citrus opener

I LOVE this fragrance. I was always a vanilla / gourmand girl, but when I smelled this, it IMMEDIATELY brought me back to my childhood when I used to play in the meadows of rural Pennsylvania. It's green, fresh, open and airy. Dew that rolled off the mountain last night, early morning rain evaporating in the sun, but the dense & lush forest is right behind you. There's SOMETHING in here, maybe the akigalawood- that's dirty and 'brown' and peppery? But I usually have a strong aversion to anything peppery... It reminds me of those sticky burdock plants that would always get stuck to my socks. This is just fond childhood memories of hiking and adventure in a bottle. I reach for this every time I want some fresh nostalgia and comfort.

Bought this some time ago basically because of the cute bottle , I don’t mind the smell with it’s fresh and dewy facets , I also have the original but again for the even better bottle. Now there is a new one which is my favorite yet.,, for the smell ,However all of them I want to like but do not. Like many other reviews state it already ,it’s all about pepper. Too much peeper!! My husband dispises this perfume ,he says all he smells is pepper and sadly all the other ones , even the new one to him is still too much pepper. I personally don’t hate the pepper smell but cannot love it either. It’s all about Lilly of The Valley and ,,,,pepper ! My favorite nose , Danila Andrier ,did not hit the spot here.

I found a Sephora tester of the original Miu Miu in my drawer that I had had from years ago, but only gave it a try recently. Oh my goodness!! I love it! Great scent and great performance on my skin! I now have a fb of that and the L’eau bleue. Probably didn’t need both but I truly like them. They really have a similar scent profile with L’eau bleue being lighter and a bit more aquatic and the original more forward musk and pepperiness. Both have such a classic, pleasant yet also sufficiently interesting and unique scent profile and rather usable in most occasions, I figure I won’t regret having both...

When I first sampled the scent in the department store I was hooked .This and the original Miu Miu. This was prior to my fragrance hobby but now , based on the notes I can see why .I love Lily of the Valley, I had to buy both . The differences between the two for me is that Bleue Is fresher and lighter. More my casual , day scent and Miu Miu is the sexy , evening scent . However , I always get a scent of grapefruit lingering on first spray with Bleue and I know it’s not in the notes ingredients . Overall, a non offensive , pretty day scent .

This was my first high end perfume. My mother bought this for me in a set when I was 13. I love how peppery it is. So refreshing and green, “peppy and springy” would be the perfect words to describe it. Its youthful and bright. When I wore it regularly I often got told I smelled peppery (not negatively though, and I don’t mind that at all). Some people might not prefer that. One thing I will say is that this is not a blind buy as this fragrance is one of those 50/50 things. My whole family except for me and my mum like it.

I absolutely love this perfume, I bought it in rollerball form from Sephora in a sale on a whim, and I was not disappointed! I'm more biased towards white floral and 'greener' scents, but this certainly is one of the more 'fresh' smelling white floral scents I own. The Lilly-of-the-valley really take the crown with this scent, but it almost has a slight vintage touch too it, which must be where Miu Miu comes in. Overall this is definitely becoming one of my favourite's, and I'll have to buy a bigger bottle once I run out.

I can’t smell lots, but what I smell is delicious! Delicate, genuine, and just in line with Miu Miu’s fashion, a bit nostalgic, a bit decadent, whimsically romantic, lots of charm and uniquely good taste. Very feminine, a bit sweet, true to life lily of the valley and some dew drops and slight green. One of my most romantic fragrances for time being. It doesn’t have much of a silage but preforms exceptionally well on skin for its delicate nature.

This to me is the best of the bunch. Beautiful floral green. Lilly of the valley and musk. Has such a unique scent. Almost reminds me a bit of Cartier’s Carat but not as sharp. It’s just beautiful. It lingers forever! I wore this and curled up on the couch and smelled it 24 hour later on the blanket. It’s a great every day and any occasion fragrance. Would be beautiful in the warm weather by the water right before a dinner I believe.

Damn. I don't care for Miu Miu as a fashion designer, so I really did not want to like this, but I do. I really love it. I've been looking for a fairycore fragrance, and this is it. Airy, fresh, light. This is the first perfume I've ever smelled that I think has actually captured the scent of petrichor - not JUST petrichor, mind you, but it is in there amongst the floral and green notes. It smells like a rainy spring morning.

One of the best lily of the valley scents! Fresh, green and compared to many other LOTV scents this one projects nicely and has decent longevity. LOTV can come across a bit dated if not done right. But here it is definitely with a modern, contemporary take. I also had the original Miu Miu which has a slight vintage-y touch but I love L'Eau Bleu more because it is greener and the LOTV is stronger.

It breaks my heart to read so many semi-positive reviews. I think Miu Miu L'Eau Bleue is beautiful. And yes, lily of the valley is central but the happy bright green notes uplift the otherwise powdery floral note. It's innocent, happy. The Woody notes in the drydown are subtle. I'm a guy so I don't know if my review should be taken seriously, but if you ask me I would say go for it!

To me this smells like straight up lily of the valley. Like if you picked a bunch yourself, so you get both the enchanting scent of the flowers and that green scent of the leaves and broken stalks. My first thought when I tried this perfume was "this is the ultimate wedding fragrance". If white lace had a scent it would be this. It's beautiful, light, but still potent.

Very green. It really does have a noticeable "peppery" note to it - the akigalawood cuts through the whole fragrance and lasts from head trough base. It's not bad, smells like peppery fresh water, or even like petrichor a bit. Slightly sweet in the far background. Sadly the performance is really drab. The fragrance does hold onto you, but stays literally at skin level.

For me this was an interesting combination of light floral aquatic with a sharp pepper note. The pepper note lasts hours! At first the pepper was a bit jarring, but I actually quite liked. I guess this is where scent is so personal. The pepper note felt awakening for me. I like it for cool days where I want a little something piercing throughout the day.

This is a beautiful, fresh and green lily of the valley scent. I agree with the reviewers who mention the dew drop note - I know it is a fantasy note but this really feels like a crisp but already slightly warm spring morning. Freshly washed hair, white t-shirt, green tea, the birds are chirping and the world is still peaceful. Underrated beauty.

For me this is a strongish scent with character and attitude. It's not a typical cutesy, feminine floral but rather it has a little bit of kick that makes it something I like to wear when I'm feeling very confident and want to show it. A job interview scent, if you will. I would love it even more if I wasn't prone to getting a headache from it.

I like the power of this scent, strong and a bit narcotic for me, though I recognize that, as soon as the first notes settle down, it can be ethereal, elusive moisture in the air. Lily of the valley is remarkable. In my opinion it deserves a good grade. How beautiful these kinds of fragrances are!

This is my go-to spring scent! It's so fresh and light, like walking through a dewy meadow in the morning. The lily of the valley is beautiful and not overpowering, and the akigalawood adds a lovely touch of warmth. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cheerful and uplifting fragrance.

I've never gotten this many compliments on a perfume before. I bought this because several people in the reviews described this as "Lana Del Rey by the pool". Extreeemely accurate. 🍸 Aside from the freshness, this perfume has something pleasantly nutty to it that I can't quite place.

Lily of the valley and pepper. Light. Clean like most of Daniela Andrier 💜 creations. The drydown in a little sweeter than previous phases but overall it’s a love for me. I will try not to overspray maybe next time. Also, this works so well in hot and humid weather.

Beautiful Spring fragrance. Lily of the Valley and the first Spring bulb flowers in a bouquet. Office friendly, feminine. The anchor does smell like toilet paper when it used to come scented. A clean, white, warm laundry musk.

This is like the original miu miu but fresher, crisp, and greener. Like you’re walking near a forest lake with lilly of the valley trees alongside, eating a green apple. While the original one is creamier.

this is the perfect scent for everyday spring!! love it! wish it would last longer though... it is an perfume, not a toilette so you expect it to last longer than 4 hours...

This is fresh and green! Muguet is prominent and I love this note. Its so beautifully blended with other floral notes. It is love.

it smells like the first day of spring

this is a really easy to wear perfume. I normally have a difficult time with green notes, musk and am not a huge fan of “aqua” type fragrances in general. Normally I’d look at the notes on this perfume and pass. Glad I tried it though. This isn’t the best perfume I’ve ever smelled - but I could see a place for it in my collection for sure. It smells clean and refreshing without having any citrus in it. I also like that it smells clean without turning masculine at all. It almost smells a bit like shampoo. This would be great for a day when you don’t know what to reach for and want something very inoffensive. It doesn’t project on me at all. It’s very close to the skin (which is sometimes a really good thing). I can smell wood note in here more than the musk - which is great for me. And it’s not a “masculine” note at all. This would be a great perfume for a teenager or a lady in her 20’s - however I’m 35 and still enjoy this. This perfume reminds me of being outside on a beautiful day while having a picnic and relaxing. Although this is by no means a “professional” scent I could see it being okay for the work place as it sits close to the skin and smells clean.

Clean, classy and crisp. For some reason, this perfume takes me back to when my boyfriend and I stayed in a stunning up-market hotel in Monaco. Everything was pristine, the Princess Grace rose gardens were beautiful and fragrant in the dazzling sunshine and we were treated like royalty as we watched the caretakers of the garden spray water on the flowers. We had a balcony room over looking the sea and the lovely hotel soaps and shower gels smelled JUST like this perfume. Ahh, what a happy memory. L'Eau Bleue is feminine, smells expensive and I really want to hate it, because I just don't vibe with greener, heavily floral dominated perfumes at all, but there's something about this scent that makes me feel like an elegant pin-up girl, posing for photographs surrounded by lush, dewy foliage. Someone said below that it reminded them of a greenhouse, and I definitely get that feeling as well. Would I buy a full bottle of this myself? Jury's out. It's so different to my usual taste that it freaks me out a little. Maybe one day I'll buy a little bottle and keep it to myself whenever I want to feel like a mysterious nymph of the forest.

I smelled this in the middle of my early 20s gourmand phase and found it too sharp for my liking. Some sweaty summers have passed since then and I realized gourmands can almost never work during the summers and I need to challenge myself to try something fresh and focus less on cloying sweetness. I have been testing this and it’s growing on me! I appreciate how clean and sharp it is and I really do get this aquatic feeling from the scent. My issue with fresh scents was that they tended to feel separate from me, like they were wearing ME, and that they smelled quite synthetic, but Miu Miu l’eau Bleue doesn’t give me that. It also sits close to the skin. I have learned that I much prefer citrusy and woody aquatics that lean slightly masculine, and this is slightly too green, but will test this again in the July heat and see how she shines. The olfactory adventure continues!

Sampled: a green, lush, dewy white floral scent. It’s aquatic in an air-off-the-great-lake way; I couldn't agree more with the consensus-statement "Great for warm weather by the water", but I'd argue this would be good from the first signs of snowmelt to the heatwaves of mid summer (and maybe all year-round, honestly, though it would shine best through spring... I heavy agree with the person who said it smells like the first day of spring). Overall, it's quite nice and pretty unique. It's peppery and a little spicy (from the Akigalawood? I'm unfamiliar with the note) in the opening, but that does mostly fade! I'd advise against this fragrance if you really dislike pepper, though.

It doesn't last longer than a few hours on my skin (but I am a very light sprayer.) The scent itself is in-your-face lily of the valley with green notes, white florals, and musk. It dries down powdery but not overwhelmingly so. However, it can be disastrous if oversprayed because of the lily of the valley. I do like it. It's pleasant, if not a little generic. A little too expensive for what you get but apparently many people like it. Thank goodness akigalawood is not present, like, at all. I rarely can stand that note. If you can, try grabbing yourself a gift set of this. Mine comes with a 10 ml vial and shower gel in addition to a 100 ml bottle. It's very lovely.

This is possibly one of the most Lily of the Valley smells that I have ever encountered in recent years. It smells like my grandma,in the best possible way, with a gentle modern twist. After about an hour it becomes a little big more woody and less flowery, but the flowers and clean feeling are still there. I think it is the best fit for a mature lady or a really young girl, for women between 35 and 60 it might feel a tiny bit old fashioned, but personally i feel like this is part of the appeal. Very pretty. It stays relatively close to skin I believe, I do not see this lasting for hours on me. Edit: As a skin scent, it lasts surprisingly long.

The first time I smelled it I thought « mh not bad , peppery water vibe ». And I kept wearing it some times cause I had a sample and was looking for that thing I needed to picture for the vibe of this . And someone in this comment section said it was smelling like Lana del Rey by the pool and everything made sense !! The grass , moisturized by the water splashs, the pool clean and blue , the lilies of the valley in a corner , a girl with white skin drinking a DR . Pepper and reading Vogue .. I like to adopt the same vibe with this scent now when my billionaire husband is managing his business . (Lol)

I have the cutest little 20ml bottle of this :-) and it’s the kind of green scent I can get on board with! It’s lovely- pretty floral lily of the valley , slightly vintage smelling to my nose, and just green enough without straying into cut grass and soil (not for me!) it’s like walking into a secret garden of white flowers early on a spring day, Slightly flowery sweet and a tiny bit aquatic (dew drops?) It’s quite light but what is there is delicate and pretty. Non offensive, office friendly. Smells both mature and youthful if that’s even possible, I would say a nice gift for all ages.

I have no clue why grapefruit isn't on there because that's the note that made me buy it. It's similar to the og Miu Miu but with more grapefruit and less sunscreen smell. I wished I bought this one instead of the og Miu Miu because it fits my taste more during college and now that I'm older I find it too young for my taste. If the og Miu Miu gave me the image of a girl who likes to take walks in the park and by the beach, the L'eau Bleue gave me the image of a girl who walks around in the city that's near the coast or tropical region.

A beautiful, green lily of the valley scent. I’m surprised this isn’t more popular as I classify L’Eau Bleue as an easy reach, a clean floral crowd pleaser. In the base Akigalawood gives this scent a little synthetic peppery kick, and that may be the one troublesome note for some folks, but without it L’Eau Bleue would become pedestrian. I’m not inclined to buy a retail bottle but I would not pass up a good grey market deal. Love the unique bottle design for this line too. A solid perfume, mixed well and perfect for Spring.

This is probably one of the few green & aquatic fragrances that I enjoy immensely. Miu Miu somehow always seems to deliver sophistication in their scents. L’Eau Bleue to me is all about Lily of the valley after a heavy spring rain with some zest & freshly cut flower stem accords. Has that wonderful " fresh new start " vibe. This is LONG LASTING, especially on clothes. I would choose this over TF freshies & Marbella by Carner easily. I see this one working very well all year round.

Lilly of the valley, freshly cut grass and rain. Smell like spring, makes my heart sing with joy and smile to the world bright and wide. This is a very fresh, green and uplifting scent, reminiscent of early spring and long walks in the forest. It might not be my favourite, but it has its own place. For when I want a blast of freshness without overwhelming citrusy notes or soapy smells. Fresh, clean, beautiful, 'alive', classy. Love the bottle too.

Simple, doesn't really have a story to tell - it smells the same from the beginning to the end. But oh my does it smell good! I'm very surprised to love it as much as I do. Lilly of the valley, watery notes and the thing we call jasmine but really it's the Philadélphus (smells amazing but not really like jasmine). All the spring flowers! And the bottle is love... Can't wait for the spring to bathe in this great scent

I would describe this as laying on a bed of dewy white flowers. its elegant and soft. Yet it has a very natural quality to it. Its sort of sensual in a very dreamy way. Lana del rey by a pool is a good way to describe it honestly, as one of the comments below does. It also sort of reminds me of cassie from skins. Its very sappy and soapy as white floral can be, but I will admit its a really lovely fragrance. 6/10

Loving this, the original, and the latest rose flanker for spring. Those green notes are sharp! And exhilaratingly lovely. This one is my current fave of the three bc that lily of the valley note is so crisp and fresh, i can almost taste the dewy petals. Kind of reminds me of grapefruit, in a fantastic way. This is gonna have me smelling like a flower popsicle all summer long. I can get with that.

This fragrance is so lovely... The jasmine really stands out. Blended with white flowers, it creates a fantastic combination! It’s a clean, fresh, very feminine scent. It’s perfect for wearing to the office because it’s not too overpowering, but clean, as if you’ve just stepped out of the shower. I’d wear it in spring and summer.

I wore the contents of one tiny sample vial twice and I would honestly say that this fragrance captures the heart of Lily of the Valley nicely, it just spells " Summer" to me. Very youthful , fresh and definetely Summer! Light but not too light and longevity is around 4 hours on me. I would give this a 3.9 out of a 5.

I've had this on all day and it's totally pleasant. It lasts really well, and the scent doesn't change a great deal (on me at least). I definitely get a predominantly green scent on me, very clean and fresh smelling. It won't ever become a signature scent, but there's definitely in place in my scent wardrobe for this.

I love it! It's a very fresh lily-of-the-valley and rose, like morning dew on the petals. But don't overdo it, one spray is enough, otherwise it turns sweet, peppery and headache-inducing. I can smell it on myself when I move around even if i put on very little which doesn't happen with all the perfumes for me.

This smells like the love child of Chloe EDP and Eau de Cartier, which I love! Nice, pretty sparking floral. More green and not so sweet. The bottle is the cutest thing ever! I can see wearing this to the office or on a warm day. It’s not “too much”, just a nice, green, slightly soapy white floral.
