Tachibana

This sits in a really interesting unisex space. On me, it leans a touch too masculine, while on my boyfriend it softens into something more balanced and almost subtly feminine. The scent is an enticing floral with mercurial, shifting masculine undertones rather than anything dominant or carnal. It might just be skin chemistry, but I barely get any sourness. It makes me think of Hermes or Apollo--or rather their counterfactual, yuzu-bearing Japanese equivalents.

This is one of the first samples I’ve truly had to toss out after first session. There is a sourness to the citrus that reminds me distinctly of the scent accompanied by the ammonia present when cleaning out my cat’s litter box - the association was too strong for me to shake. I’m a big fan of Yuzu so this took me by surprise. My sample was ordered through scent split, so almost wondering if I got a bad batch. But this wasn’t for me.

Amber vetiver, and sour musk. Almost every single note shown above is detected clearly. Topping up the vetiver, amber, then musk, orange blossom, and yuzu. It has that bitter musky earthy vetiver. I don't like vetiver, but in here it does have that weird animalic sourness that is kind of captivating and i believe it's because of the doses of amber and yuzu that softens that earthy dirty vetiver abit as it does smell like rubber. I believe this should be the smell of "Tom Of Finland" By Etat Libre d'Orange as it has that nasty harsh leathery note that is nearly sexy and quite earthy animalic.

Figment(if you know you know)light. Very reminiscent of the Amouage scent but a little less heavy. Something in here, I suspect the yuzu and vetiver goes green. But more like greenery baking in a midday sun at the edges of a dense field.
