Yuki

I find it interesting that the reviewer before me, found Yuki "aquatic". I've never quite seen it this way. But I see how they came to that conclusion... Yuki, for me, is a scent like none I'd ever smelled before. Lavender is the main actor, yes, but it is accompanied by other notes in a way that, I guess, could be perceived as aquatic? Yuki is very pure, very uncomplicated as it unfolds. Clarifying lavender, upheld by a base of oakmoss and vanilla and sweetish woods. Every now and then, tender floral notes are making themselves heard, yet they never overpower the air of solemnity that this scent embodies. Like a meditation in the snow. There are some weird, artificial tones in Yuki, I agree with that. I smell play-doh and something not unlike stuff that's used in paints. I for my part love this kind of thing in scents, though. It's like finding an easter egg in a composition. Also, lots of essential oils have really "weird" notes to them. I discovered that when I got into soapmaking a couple of years back, and bought a whole lot of essential oils. You have to really *learn* to find them pleasant. My theory is that because in nature, you are never hit by a one-note-smell with such intensity, your initial instinct tells you "this is unnatural". Take Ho-Wood for example. It has a distinct "artificial" play-doh note. And I think, that's what's going on with Yuki, too. The weird, kinda synthetic-artificial smelling notes are peculiar smelling parts of essential oils mixing up with one another. Lavenders, a good portion of woody Ho and its creamy play-doh note, green-woody-earthy oakmoss, combining with powdery musk into something so clean, so crystal clear. I can't describe Yuki. You really have to experience it. Yuki is unisex in my opinion. In fact, the only perfumes I have discovered, which are *kind of* similar are "Pour un homme de Caron", "Eau des Baux" by L'Occitane en Provence -- both perfumes for men, mind you -- and "Oriental Zinc" by Lalique. Yes, I've been keeping an eye out for alternatives once I run out, as Yuki is really quite expensive. So far, I've only had mixed results. Yuki is the queen of creamy, streamlined, pure white shining lavender.

My first love at first sniff perfume. Opened my eyes to perfumes and sent me on my fragrance journey. And yet I still come back for it whenever it's cold enough to wear. Nothing was ever good enough to replace it. The lavender in this is SO SMOOTH and BEAUTIFUL. Not herbal or screechy or masculine at all. Very unisex. Really, just get a sample. My only issue is that it does indeed have an artificial play-doh scent as mentioned in the below review, but I only get it if its a warm day (not that I would wear it on those days).

Lavender, & sweet amber. It hits with huge lavender and sweet amber, then softens into aquatic lavender, & artificial candy aquatic musk. The sweet amber remains there but a weird metallic note comes up side by side with the aquatic lavender. It's quite weird i disliked it because of the metallic note that really bothers the blend allot.
