Blue Gin

This is a great fresh fragrance with a little depth to it. I get the whole juniper, casalone (no egg smell), and mandarine off the top with the smoothness from the cardamommy. The cetalox provides a slight woody ambery sweetness that helps it stick to the skin. This scent projects moderately, it picks up when your body temp rises and lasts 8 hours. I understand comparisons made to designer fragrances but it has a noticeable added nuance that takes it further. I feel that this is bottle-worthy (for me) and worth a nice-sized sample. I would wear this day or night in the spring/summer. The price is a big drawback but it's worth waiting for a sale to pick up. One thing to note is that it's a linear fragrance and some may see this as a downside.

A very light, refreshing fragrance from Alberto Morillas' line, mainly of Juniper and synthetics (Cetalox and Cascalone.) The name is a play on "blue jeans"- the gin of the juniper, and the synthetic of Cetalox, used to power detergents and the evokes the smell of fresh laundry. This opens quite strong, a strong juniper mixed with the muskiness of the Cetalox. It really does smell like warm, freshly-ironed denim. Then it dries down nicely, pleasantly mixed in with the Cascalone and other sweet & spicy ingredients like Tonka, Cardamom, Mandarin, Sichuan Pepper and Iris. UPDATE: Dries down a bit heavy and oily as it doesn't have emphasis on florals or citrus.

Very nicely done. I purchased vodka on the Rocks by Killian which is a fragrance I use in the heat during the day when appropriate. Blue Gin is that same kind of fragrance, but much more natural smelling than VOTR and the longevity is surprisingly decent. The goal with this scent is something you throw on when you’ve got some fun day plans. It’s playful. Gin smells is on point. Sillage isn’t much but that’s what I’d expect.

This is a very unique fragrance. One of those you can not compare to anything else. Very crisp and refreshing. Ideal for a hot summer day. I loved the sample so much I had to have a full bottle. If you want to not smell like anyone else during the hot weather, this would be the one.

Super refreshing juniper and cardamom-infused gin with tonic. Frozen orange rinds top it all off. Perfect for hot weather, there is no other season to wear this. It's been 3 hrs and it's still quite present on my skin.

Great fragrance to leave a good impression, refreshing, elegant. Excellent confidence boosting fragrance, really builds a bubble around you, definitely identifiable. Honestly worth trying.

I've been really into gin lately so I blind bought this one when I saw a great price on eBay. I've been testing it heavily in the Texas heat and I've really enjoyed it. The opening is a strong fizzy orange that is spiced up with cardamom and sweetened with blackberries. It's very refreshing and a real mood booster. The gin accord is pretty well done but not quite as well done as a other one I've been testing from Penhaligon's called Much Ado About the Duke. There's a passing resemblance to Kilian Vodka on the rocks with obvious differences like orange, cardamom, blackberry, cascolone (a fresher and less fishy cousin to calone) etc. Also Kilian VOR has a boatload of ambroxan in the base which keeps me from liking that one. After 15-20 minutes VOR is ALL ambroxan.There's an iris note present in Blue Gin that at first seemed a bit out of place until I made the connection that Blue Gin is connected to Blue Jeans (the label is denim). The cascolone gives is a watery quality in line with the gin theme. Longevity is great and projection is strong. Fizzy and effervescent, Blue Gin is perfect for wearing in warm weather with Blue Jeans and T-shirt 👕 💙 Scent 7.4/10 Performance 8/10 P. S. This is one that regularly draws compliments if that's something you care about.

Today is my first full wearing for Blue Gin. It is definitely made for a hot day. It is bright and effervescent. If you like gin and tonic like I do, this is for you. In fact, I can smell a slice of bitter and sour lime rind, too. Blue gin is for a casual and happy day. A white tee and blue jeans with blue gin makes a perfect ensemble.

First impressions of my sample when I first smelled it. The initial aroma immediately reminded me of Killians Vodka on the Rocks but after testing in the air and on skin I realize this has a lingering note that reminds me of the smell of baby wipes/Clorox wipes that I don’t like. I can only presume it’s from the Cascalone but if that nuance wasn’t present I’d easily get a full bottle of this. But because I notice it so much I’d much rather just pay extra and get the Killian instead. Apart from that it does smell good but that slight aftertone of baby wipes doesn’t make me want to own a full bottle of this Edit: Wore it for a day and still not doing it for me. It’s not bad but I just don’t like whatever is creating that sanitizing undertone. If I were to rank this type of DNA of scents I’ve tried: 1. Vodka on the Rocks 2. Percival 3. Mont Blanc Legend EDP 4. Fierce 5. Blue Gin

Wore it to office with jeans and T shirt. It was very strong on me, I could smell it till the next day evening after a shower. It has a strong sour lemon smell and something indescribable-like vinegar or vodka in it. The gin part obviously. Not off putting for me, but maybe for people who don't like perfume or strong smells. I was surprised because it looked like a light fragrance, gross underestimate by me. I hope I didn't shock my colleagues.

@Daxkong I like juniper berries in cologne as I own a few with that note and like them so I don’t think it’s that. I really think it’s coming from the synthetic note of Cascalone Alberto Morillas used in here. It’s the only note I’m familiar with while I can detect most of the others in the blend

I love crisp smelling scents for summer. While this one opens fairly nicely, i'm not a fan of juniper. Much better alternatives out there in my opinion.

I can't help but think car air freshener when I smell this. It smells like the tree shaped scented carboards you hang on the rearview of your car. Does it smell pleasant? It's not horrible. Does it smell like a scent made by a mid tier designer trying to punch up? It does. The main issue is price. It doesn't feel luxurious at all and a $290 scent should smell expensive if not interesting. It smells like a niche fragrance for someone about to enter the 12th grade... Blue Gin screeches from the first spray. This isn't smooth gin. This is the type of gin that burns and makes you curse yourself the next morning. It feels loud for the first hour and quickly calms while staying the remaining few hours as a present skin scent. Performance isn't a problem here. It's not a common scent although it's in a family of fragrances you know if you've smelled Ferragamo Urban Feel or Office One by Jeremy Fragrance. Both of those scents were also made by Alberto Morillas, and Blue Gin doesn't come across as the best in show within it's category imo. You will stand out wearing it and people who don't have the best taste in perfumes will say you smell awesome, but you will not smell expensive at all. I could probably recommend it for people just getting into perfumes who don't want to smell too serious in the heat, if the price was half it's cost, but it's not so... If I had to rate this scent using my PAGE rating. P for Poor...A for Average...G for Good...E for Exceptional, I'd have to give this fragrance a P rating. When you charge nearly $300 for a perfume, the composition, ingredient list, and scent must justify that price. It's not a bad scent, although overtly synthetic. If it was half the price I would've given Blue Gin an A for average. It's just not a scent worth prioritizing for the price to own it when there are so many amazing niche perfumes to be had at similar or lesser prices. Perfect Oud is a far better warm weather option from Mizensir and Golden Oud is probably the highlight from the house so far. With Blue Gin you may not be the best smelling person in the room, but you will smell like the best smelling Honda in the lot. SIMPLY PUT SCENTS

This is along the lines of a "niche" blue fragrance - which is to say it smells like something you'd test at a Sephora but, maybe, higher quality ingredients (but I feel this might be a generous statement). It's sweet-ish, synthetic citrus, "blue" and highly reminiscent of A&F Fierce. I've smelled most of the Mizensir line and I actually think there are a few strong gems in there (Perfect Oud, Golden Oud, and For Your Love are very solid, if not groundbreaking, releases) but this one feels like a scent Morillas did for some designer brand that ended up not being made, so he released it under Mizensir. Longevity is very good, around 8-10 hours on my skin with noticeable projection throughout. A 6.5/10 for me. Just an overpriced, designer scent to my nose. If you like scents such as Percival, Gentle Fluidity Silver, and other niche-priced designer-smelling scents you probably would dig this. I'd be cautious of the free bottle influencers pushing it right now, though (as you always should be).

Can't say it smells like any Gin around, if anything at all. I struggled to get through the opening as somehow I feel there is a Kefir Lime oil which is grassy, creamy and too heavy for my taste and for sure the cetalox diffusive marine quality doesn't improve it. Heart and dry down tend to become more a masculine mossy/aquatic with a very strong synthetic vibe but very persistent smooth radiance. Very long lasting/heavy sillage and almost morphing to a watery-modern fougere past 4 hours (to my nose) . I did not enjoy one bit sadly. Yet a very well crafted array of notes which definitely screams: try before you buy me. Edit: it did come to me in the end. The dry down is a combination between Molecule 04 and Scent of Peace for Him.

Strong but noticeably synthetic driven freshie. I don't really feel the Fierce comparisons but I do understand why some would think so. The citruses and juniper berries are very apparent. An overdose of synthetic fixatives make it smell aritificially fresh. The performance on this is crazy. If you like fresh, gin-tonic like accords in general but find them mostly lacking in performance, this is your scent. It sticks on the skin like crazy, and even when I applied three spritzes from the sample vial I thought it was projecting heavily. Drydown is slightly mineral and piercing. Decent but nothing outstanding either. 3/5

I picked up a 10ml decant of this and have given it a few wears these last couple of years. I wore it to work, church, out and about.....but it's just not something I would gravitate towards. I have at least 3-5 other frags that fit this profile that I would wear before Blue Gin. It's just too sickly "blue" for my tastes. There's this "blue syrup" vibe I get from it that just doesn't sit well with me. Don't get me wrong, it's well blended and the quality is definitely there.....it's just very "blue".

The first Mizensir to leave my collection... The type of musks and Juniper Berry used here are very clinical It’s sharp but not in a typical way (I imagine flour, it’s sharp-clean yet round and powdery), A very full choking sharpness. Below that there is a designerish undertone that people refer to. If you only smell it in air you will get that cool-blue scent. Like almost all Mizensir’s: an easy wear, suitable for everything but still has a lot of character. It OK overall, less for me.

I just bought this at the flagship store here in SOHO NY, great customer service and good music makes the decision of purchasing Blue Gin a pleasant expierence. High quality ingredients with synthetics help elevate this fragrance for the high heat, I love the versatility of wearing this to work or a night out.

But I think the smell he is referring to that he doesn't care for is coming from the juniper berries. I understand that juniper berries could be a polarizing scent

Cheap smelling and worse version of GNTONIC. For some reason powdery and sweet. Texture similar to Fierce. Disgusting Cascalone bombing and room filling explosive
