Incensum

I smelled this and was immediately transported back in time to when I was hiking through the forests of Tasmania. The woody notes are driven from Huon Pine, a lovely and unique native Australian pine found in Tasmania. I could smell the grass and fresh wet wind and the smell of pine forest and the woody smell of the board walk underneath my feet hiking around Dove Lake. This is what a fragrance experience is at its absolute best. I doubt many people would have this specific experience smelling this, but can probably relate to it. Remember smelling a citrus note that took you back to a holiday in Portugal? Or the first time you smell a fragrance for 10 years and you remember suddenly what your life was like that time ago? Thats what this did for me. Trying to be objective, its a well crafted spicy wood, totally inoffensive, would appeal to those who like a very dry spicy wood. 5 stars from me.

To my nose, Incensum by Mizensir is a rich, smoky, woody, and spicy fragrance that captures the essence of Eastern culture while maintaining its own distinctive identity. The opening is driven by a bold spicy ginger accord, which gradually unfolds into a beautifully warm incense. As it develops, notes of myrrh, smoked wood, and leather form the heart and base, giving the fragrance depth and complexity. With outstanding longevity and projection, Incensum performs exceptionally well throughout the day. This was a blind buy for me, and I absolutely love it—though I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it as a safe blind buy for everyone, as its bold and smoky character may not suit all tastes. Super dry, woodsy and to its namesake, incense driven - the myrrh calls to mind the first time I entered a smoke hazed church in an ancient European city during a hot summer - a heady ascension to another time and place. I'm calling it a 'Dry Gourmand' - no real sweetness but a richness that constantly keeps me raising my hand to my nose where I have sampled the scent... Purchased on the spot after trying... I heart Alberto.

Very similiar to Gucci Guilty Absolute. They're even the same perfumer but this is maybe 2 nudges higher than Gucci guilty Absolute. Could be the higher ingredients or blend (speculation) but I prefer this to GGA the cost is like 3-4 depending on the size bottle you get. For me not worth it unless it hits discounters not full retail

Not much of a resemblance to Guilty Absolute in all honestly. This one is mostly ginger, angelica, pepper, incense, cypriol, vetiver, and sythethic oud. Smells a lot like Precious Liquid’s Amber Suede, which is an airier take on Oud Wood Intense.

Incensum is...a leather , with some light touch of balmy notes. Light and polished to the point of loosing all personality. What's the point of making a niche brand to be so bland

Similar to Gucci Guilty absolue (also made by Alberto Morillas) but darker. Heavy leather/saffron, ambry and smoky fragrance. Not my cup of tea.

A mix of incense, gin, a hospital, a tonic water and aldehydes to my nose.

Very masculine, very similar to oud wood but with an incense note. Not for me.

This really takes me to Basilica di San Pietro. It's really orthodox churchy incense, but it has a pop of airyness and freshness as do almost all Mizensir perfumes. The maestro has done it again. This is a very wearable incense perfume and a very nice "benchmark" incense-forward perfume. In order of prominence I get: Incense, Leather, Papyrus, some fresh musk that isn't listed, Myrrh, woody accord, resins. It's very nice, will update review with longevity.. The freshness in this one kind of hints at works like Louis Vuitton's Au Hasard (not that they're similar, just a similar fresh, paper-y vibe). It's very dry in the way it comes across and opens. As of the writing of this review, it was suggested this smelled like Benjoin 19. I find zero similarities with Benjoin 19 (absolutely none).

Cypriol oil major with incense & papyrus minor... This is a mix of cypriol oil, papyrus, ginger, myrrh, then incense. I can't detect any leather actually! maybe some woods yes but majorly it is cypriol, & papyrus. Not amazing, but ok.

This is one of my favourites. Very dry, I agree it smells like Ombre Leather to an extent but less synthetic and at a better price. Not a scent for the Australian summer, but a constant grab in the cooler months.

Definitely resembles Guilty Absolute. This is softer, with more development. The former is the head turner, this is perhaps more understated and classy—veers towards Interlude after 30 mins.

smells like carmex. can’t decide if i like it or not.

On the dry down this is ombré leather Tom Ford.
