Habanita Anniversary Edition

Already received mine, ordered as soon as I got the info by mail on previous saturday. Red is my favourite color. And Habanita is a very underrated gem. I have a few other Molinards and enjoy them (Ambré lumière, Patchouli intense, Habanita la Cologne, Cuir...). Molinard is a family owned business and can't be compared with "big" brands. And I hope it will stay so for a very long time. They regularly sell their classics in large 500 ml bottle for the well being and happiness of oversprayers like me. This red edition is also totally affordable. they didn't change the price for it. Once again you can't compare them to parts of LVMH or Kering group. But the global impression is less greedy too. And I'm totally fed up with releases for collections or socialnetworks freaks. Impression may be different but it's the regular Habanita EDP. This gem gains in beauty with maturation. Fresher batch is may be spicier and less creamy.

Yes, it IS the same powdery, spicy Habanita just redressed in a red bottle. The same fragrance as the modern, black bottle ( and the previous gold-patterned special edition ). Any perceived difference - I've read reviews describing it as a different scent - maybe down to the power of suggestion ( brands wouldn't put so much effort into choosing colour and design if it didn't affect the way we view a product ) OR comparing it to earlier versions - although Habanita thankfully isn't one of those fragrances altered beyond recognition, there are differences between the 80"s ( Lalique bottle ) and earlier versions which are darker and smokier. ( See Raider's of the Lost Scent for a great article on the variations ). I was more than happy to buy it as: a, you can't have too much of a good thing. b, the red bottle is beautiful and would be a great addition to any collection. c, it was half price !

Holy cow I love this fragrance. It starts out somewhat powdery and spicy - someone else mentioned L'Heure Bleu and I agree it has some of that same powdery mystique, only more spicy. Then it gets MUCH more floral - really getting the jasmine. And settles into something woody, musky incense still with hints of powder and flowers coming through. It shifts over time and smells a bit different every time I put my wrist to my nose. It is unisex to my nose, dry and not too sweet. And just amazing. The red anniversary bottle is beautiful

Love this sweet and spicy, a good evening fragrance if you are going to see an outdoor opera.

On me, this is a gorgeous soft, spicy, smoky vanillic floral and I totally dig it! Red is my favorite color, so I love the anniversary bottle too! I cannot speak to whether this edition is the same as the previous releases, as this is my first time trying this beauty. This is definitely a cool weather scent and I’m really enjoying it now in our rare 30-degree weather. Good stuff!

This one gives me huge Shalimar vibes, but with way less vanilla and more geranium, that reminisced me of Youth Dew. It is the quintessential “rich old lady” smell, pardon my ageism. It may not be appealing to a younger crowd, because it is truly classic. It is a like but not a love (so far).

I don't find any differences (maybe just the first phase, but could be difference of the bottle age) with the black version. Seems to be the same perfume.

Not a new fragrance but a superb red bottle.
