Jasmin Eau de Parfum

This is my first Molinard. I wanted something from this storied house, and I thought Jasmin was a good bet. When I smelled this for the first time I was in heaven. What a gorgeous heady, indolic jasmine, very indolic. If you don't like animalic jasmine like the type of jasmine that is in Patou's Joy do not blind buy this. Molinard Jasmin also reminds me a lot of Diptique's Olene w/out the wisteria note. I did have that perfume on my want list, but I am going to take it off now because this perfume fills that desire and for a much better price point. Jasmin is bright, from a touch of lemon. That brightness continues throughout the heart, but you can't sense that it is from lemon. As this perfume progresses it becomes a jasmine solifore through and through. Heady, indolic, cold almost menacing. There is something dangerous about jasmine according to fragrance psychology articles I have read. Jasmine wearers have a wildness in them that can't be tamed. While vanilla lovers are the life of the party, friendly, easy going and fun. And Rose lovers are kind and cautious (according to fragrance psychology articles I've read) Jasmine lovers are provocative, alluring and a bit mysterious, even a bit dangerous. I guess these things can be taken w/ a grain of salt, but my husband gets a little nervous when I have my jasmine moods. And it is true I feel a storm stirring inside me when I want to wear Jasmine perfumes. If you like, blinding, cold, aloof, animalic, and wild jasmine at a great price, Molinard Jasmin is a great blind buy. So happy I bought this inexpensive beauty. My bottle is a 2.5 ounce and it cost $40. Lasting power is also very good. Edit: 2/3/23 This review is for the current version. New bottle w/out the white label and black cap and lettering. The caps are copper now. Also, I own Imaginary Authors Fox in a Flowerbed and am wearing it now, these 2 perfumes are not that similar. Yes, Fox in a Flowerbed has jasmine but the pink pepper, and tulip to my nose are very noticeable. It is also greener, much more ozonic and the jasmine is only slightly indolic. If I had to choose which is the better jasmine, I would choose Molinard Jasmin. But if you want a jasmine that is not just jasmine and is a bit whimsical and unique Fox in Flowerbed is a good bet. Both are nice and a good bet for any jasmine lover.

A new jasmine love! Oh, what a beauty this fragrance is, not to mention the stunning glass bottle in its audacious vibrancy. This truly is comparable to Tom Ford's Jasmin Rouge. I used to own a bottle of TFJR but rehomed it as it lasted barely an hour on my skin and was rather green and transparent; verified authentic, but it just didn't perform well on me. But this... Molinard Jasmin, which I read as clean, heady jasmine sambac tinged with a honeyed fruit and tea undertone, is very similar in scent; even slightly spicy with the presence of brisk carnation. Rose and orange blossom are very secondary but add well blended sophistication and depth. Lemon brings balance and life without any obvious harsh citrus. I feel this is fuller, richer, and has the same silky classiness of Acqua di Parma's Gelsomino Nobile which I attribute to the orange blossom, something that TFJR lacked. Perhaps this is where reviewers are finding Molinard Jasmin vintage like, but it translates as very polished, vibrant and modern to me. Bold, brave and sexy. Yes, the same boldness of Lush Lust in contrast to Serge Lutens A La Nuit's sweet honeyed innocence. Clean, yet with a good measure of indole. Warm and enveloping with a subtle anchor of sandalwood and musk, but finishing as glassy and luminous. Incredibly voluptuous and full bodied. Rrrrrrraaaoow! Sillage and longevity are fantastic. This ravishing bottle of straight up floral courage is devastatingly essential for jasmine lovers.

For jasmine lovers only, which I am. As others have mentioned, this really comes across as a jasmine soliflore. It comes right to the edge of the amount of indole I can tolerate, which may be too much for those who prefer a cleaner jasmine. It is not in Lust territory, which is too much for me, but dirtier than A La Nuit. As for comparisons to TF Jasmin Rouge, the only similarity I find is that they are both jasmine-centric fragrances. JR is far more complex and spicier. Not saying that that makes this one inferior, I'm just saying that if you try this expecting a dupe for the latter, you may find this comes up short. However if you are looking for a true jasmine soliflore inclusive of the many facets of this beguiling flower, this is a good place to start. Longevity could be much better. I can't say this is one I needed among my collection but I am happy to have it, and bonus points for the gorgeous purple bottle. A strong like for me instead of a love, this is only because there are others I own that I prefer. You could do far worse at this relatively low price point, and definitely worth a try if you are a lover of white flowers. Edit - #1 becomes less of a soliflore in the dry down. This is where I find more similarity with TF JR. #2 You've won me over, Molinard. I have fallen in love with this. It actually layers well with their Muguet EPD.

I have not historically been that big of a jasmine fan. However, I have found myself craving the cold, edgy, and somewhat naughty tropical feeling this flower gives. My test of this scent is from a 1ml stick application decant, which definitely goes on differently than a spray. But what a beauty! This is not a complex scent. The emphasis is on the flower itself. It's essentially a soliflor scent. However, in the drydown I certainly get the musk, and as mentioned by another reviewer, aldehydes. I'm missing any citrus, and the other floral notes are simple supporters in this ensemble. Truly the jasmine is the star. For a fresh, clean, jasmine scent perfectly suited for hot weather, this is stunning.

Pure, natural, heavy vintage Jasmine - as in fragrances like Joy (the real Joy) and Muguet Du Bonheur. I really don't get any of the other notes listed; especially, thank goodness not the white musk, which, for me, taints and ruins so many otherwise lovely modern perfumes. If any other notes are present, they are giving the Jasmine a lift, rather than being noticeable as themselves (if that makes sense). Even though it's heavy, I've found it perfect for sunny summer days (especially when it's humid), when many other fragrances would be too much.

Jasmine by Molinard opens sharp and indolic but within minutes those screechy top notes subside and it begins to captivate with a clean, creamy aroma, providing a more refined experience. Heady and intoxicating, it delicately balances the richness of jasmine with a subtle hint of sandalwood, preventing it from becoming cloying or linear. Upon application, the scent flourishes on the skin, revealing its complex layers, while from a distance, it envelops the senses in a beautiful, heady jasmine reminiscent of a flourishing jasmine vine.

Very fresh, very unsweet jasmine. All the fragrances from this line have such photorealistic flower market/ bright springtime garden vibes and honestly they smell so high quality for the price. Be aware this is fairly indolic and I, for one, do not smell anything but jasmine. Easy enough to sweeten this if the mood strikes. I tried it with a straight cherry blossom scent and the effect was lovely. I will try pairing it will all kinds of sweeter or spicier notes. Very glad to have this in my collection.

Tried this in Anthropology today, it's a very spicy and deep jasmine, very similar in character to Bruno Acampora Jasmin oil. The carnation is at the center of the composition, lending it an almost vintage vibe. If you can't afford the BA, this very competent creation with its cute bottle will only set you back $65. Well done, Molinard!

Love. Love. Love. An intense version of TF jasmin rouge. Im so happy I found Molinard because I was searching for a long lasting strong jasmine scent. I tried TF’s but it was much too weak for my tastes. Home run on this one! ❤️✔️

A very good soliflore representation of jasminum polyanthum. Creamy, pollen-esque, subtly sensual.

I wasn't sure about this when I sprayed it on this morning. It starts out a little heavy on the indoles, but that passes and the two main notes I get throughout the life of the fragrance are jasmine and neroli. The combination of the two notes is suggestive of a clean soapiness. At one point I thought it was going to smell like Jennifer Aniston's signature fragrance. Since I already have a back-up bottle of that, I really don't need another one. Fortunately, that changed, and it became its own scent. Despite the simplicity of the note profile, this is not a particularly light fragrance as there is something like a slight spice running underneath, giving it some body and weight. And though it's not listed in the notes, I also think there are light aldehydes that are there throughout the life of the fragrance and seem to get stronger as the scent progresses. Then the musk moves in and while it doesn't get powdery, it does soften this fragrance up somewhat, though this is still a very sharp floral to me. As a fragrance unto itself, the jury is still out because it doesn't feel complete to me. But taken as a soliflore, it certainly achieves its aim, though I don't know whether I'll continue to use this alone or as a layering fragrance. I agree with others here that this seems more suited for that. I really like @orpailleur's suggestion for layering with Guerlain's Eau de Fleurs de Cedrat, as the thought occurred to me today that an injection of more citrus would really lift the notes and make this a nice refreshing summer floral. Actually, I think this has potential to layer well with a lot of other fragrances, particularly sweeter scents. It will certainly be fun to experiment. I just want to offer a word of caution though. Go easy on the sprayer. This has the potential to be cloying. I found 3 sprays to be perfect today, with good silage and longevity. Although this fragrance was never on my radar, I am happy to have found it at a really great price (which was the main reason I bought it). I think I'll get a lot of wear out of it especially if used in conjunction with other scents. Though I am not 100% satisfied, I don't consider this a waste of money at all.

Oh dear. It finally happened. I think I've found a perfume that has defeated me. How can I wear this? Molinard Jasmin is a stark, sharp, austere, strident perfume that is cold cold cold. Full of character. Respect. No warmth to be found. Feels like I am wearing my bathroom air freshener. I've read reviews like this but have always been able to wear the perfume. MJ calls for layering of a high degree. I'll have to pull out all the stops to find a combination that will warm this up and knock the edge off a bit. It was 85F today and even these high temps could not sweeten this perfume. I've always worn perfumes with Jasmin but never have I ever found it to be challenging. The longevity on MJ is great and the projection is moderate. This perfume will test my layering chops. I think MJ will be great for flattening any super sweet perfume. Or perhaps, cooling down a 95F summer day? Here we go, layering challenge begins...... Edit 1: 92F today. MJ is calling me. Hum........ 🤔. Still stark but not as offensive. By the way, so far I've discovered that MJ works very well layered over Molinard Rose. A dash of rose fixes most perfumes. Will test again above 95F.

This in not an easy wearing jasmin scent. Molinard offers us a exquisite quite indolic and decidedly retró-like jasmine. It is not the most indolic jasmine of the universe, but is more indolic and much less sweet that Lush Lust - no they are not similar by any means. As reference, consider tha jasmin animalic note of many vintage perfumes (the kind of jasmin you could smell in the vintage chanel N.5 edp). Yes, this is what the fragrance offers. So, if you are searching another kind of jasmine, stay away. It is not a compliment getter neither, unastonishing because current trends of the fragrance market go in very different direction. But I don't care. I like it and I am happy about Molinard's brave choice to produce such a jasmin. With one spray the longevity isn't so brilliant (4-5 hrs). Double spray helps, however in this way the fragrance become too much for a daily use, better suited for special evening. I like layer a spray of this fragrance over solid version of Lust, because they complement well. Lush' fragrance dilutes a bit the indolic facet and carries a tad of sweetness. The longevity results improved in this way

I blind bought this Molinard flacon, given that I've never been deceived by this brand. It's a very nice creamy and classic jasmine, evocative of pre-war scents of the 20's and 30's - like the frags of le Galion. Jasmine evermore softened by rose and white musks, almost covering the orange blossom & citrus (an additional spray of Guerlain's Eau de Fleurs de Cedrat doesn't hurt here!). Nice for those nostalgic of ancient times, with high quality ingredients. It somewhat lacks originality at present time ... but that's what old houses like Molinard often do the best. IMHO the perfume pyramide above lacks a hint of aldehydes. Globally, very affordable for this quality - for jasmine lovers only

I like this better than the ever popular Alien, which, to me, doesn’t come across as being jasmine-y. This is a serious in your face perfume with strong jasmine. I get carnation, which plays a supporting role. There’s an undercurrent of spiciness, whether that’s from carnation and sandalwood, I am not sure. I think this will layer well with honeysuckle type fragrances to soften the edges.

Long lasting, pungent jasmine. And I don't smell any other notes, nada, no transitions, nothing but jasmine. And it smells this way for an hour until it fades. I'm wishing I could pick up anything spicy and/or woody to add depth. It feels like this composition is not finished. But if you are a jasmine fan, give it a spin. Others are picking up more notes, so it may just be my chemistry.

I found a season to bring out the most of the scent - summer :) During a hot day/night it turns narcotic and lush. Deep, fascinating, natural jasmin scent with thicker petals of orange blossom giving it dimention and something sensual in the base. During cold weather it is watery and sharp, as if the jasmin inside was sad that the weather is cold and low on sushine.

Creamy and soapy, and just a little indolic. Sturdy and pretty long-lasting. This is no wilting flower. She walks with confidence. I'm not usually into "clean" scents, but since this one has some interesting warmth and depth in addition to the soapiness, I'm digging it. Also at a great value, it's an easy reach.

A traditional jasmine here. Very close to the real jasmine flower scent or even jasmine absolute. It’s not very indolic, but rather powdery, sweet and slightly green. Still a very lovely fragrance. I really enjoy the whole Molinard line (purple bottles) Follow me on IG: scent.guide

This is about 70% jasmine, 25% orange blossom, and 5% "other." It's one of the very, very few perfumes with noticeable orange blossom, that I like. The two flowers play very well together.

i don’t know... i’ve been searching for a realistic jasmine scent for so long. this one is good, but still misses the mark. it’s giving wonderful, dolce vita, 1950s woman wandering through a southern european summer in a glamorous, yet undone and relaxed, sexy haze. quite a vibe for sure but not one i personally want to give off that often. call me a square lol. i wish the jasmine was a touch more creamy, and the soapiness was dialed down a quarter turn. reminds me of creed’s jasmal.

Whoo, that was a journey. The opening is just bang, huge jasmine, which is fine, a bit much for me but nothing wrong with it. Then it turned into something bad, almost rotten, at which point I put on a sweatshirt to cover it up. An hour later, I took the sweatshirt off and it had turned to a much more well-behaved musky floral with the jasmine much less prominent. I guess I'm glad I didn't panic and scrub it off halfway through, but this still isn't one for me.

I was really excited to try this after reading so many great reviews, but all I get is a soapy carnation scent with a touch of rose and powder—no jasmine at all. To me, it leans a bit mature and isn’t indolic in the slightest. It’s also not a fresh green fragrance. Perfume is so subjective, though; it’s tricky to choose one based on someone else’s opinion. I often pick up notes others don’t, and vice versa.

This is so increadibly strong and stays on forever... I put it on before bed last night, and still this morning it makes me feel sick. A beautiful fragrance in itself, but impossible to wear - I’m sorry! I have to wash my pyjama shirt.

Indolic/dirty jasmine - a bit lighter than Lush Lust.

As a jasmine lover, I thought this would be my holy grail, but it's just jasmine granny-splash. It's nothing like Lush's 'Lust' which others have suggested as Lust has a golden syrupy sweetness from the seductive jasmine, but this has an a muskier more aquatic floral with a slight vintage vibe which reminds me of Floris's 'Edwardian Bouquet'. I don't see the similarities to TF's 'Jasmin Rouge' either. Just because they all predominantly have jasmine as a note, doesn't mean they will smell related. Bottom line: granny-splash jasmine

For jasmine lovers only! Caveat, I did make the mistake of purchasing a tester, please don't unless you are fanatic about jasmine and musk, this stuff is nuclear. I'd gone on a trip to Southeast Asia some years ago, and there were children running up to the tuk tuks selling jasmine wreaths. I wanted to relive THAT memory, in bottled form, pure and unfiltered jasmine. Molinard - Jasmin is NOT that kind of jasmine frag. That is a fresh, green, Spring jasmine. Molinard's Jasmin is cold, almost medicinal, bitter at the top, and the jasmine and musk notes completely overpower every other note. It's commanding and boldly assertive, nauseating if oversprayed, and not office safe. I tried several combinations to layer this to soften its harsh edges, but it turned sour or bitter like rotting food. I've let my bottle sit for several years, hoping it would give a little ground and let the mid and base notes shine, but the jasmine/musk is relentless. If it's sprayed in extreme moderation and one wears it for very many hours, it reveals delicate and beautiful depth, but I'm not patient enough. Alas, I've come to the conclusion that I will never become friends with this scent, so I must bid it farewell. We tried, but it was a relationship doomed from the start. It's character is too linear to satisfy my fickle nose.

Reviewing a sample from 2025. Jasmin Eau de Parfum was launched in 2015, re-packaged and possibly also re-formulated in 2021. Jasmin by Molinard is a very synthetic approximation of jasmine.... if you can tolerate the toxic fumes. This opens with a rough chemical approximation of jasmine known as Methyl dihydrojasmonate over megadosed synthetic amberwoods. There is no jasmine, orange blossom or citrus. The chemical hot iron smell supposedly representing rose (? cis-rose oxide) takes forever to fade. In case it wasn't bad enough as is they have also added a touch of synthetic indoles for the piece de resistance. I find it nauseating. Quality: 0/5 - No plants, animals or perfumers were used in the making of this abomination Feminine Performance: 3/5 I am confused by some of the previous positive reviews here unless there has been a formula change - likely since 2021. In case the issue was with my sample, I also tested a new bottle from 2025 with the same result. This current version is a synthetic mess. You have been warned. 0/10

This is my review No 700, if this Fragrantica counter is to be trusted! I had no idea I was such a prolific reviewer - but then again, I’ve been a fragrance afficionado for as long as I care to remember, and my job involves a lot of travel, which provides me with plenty of opportunities to test a variety of fragrant creations. Anyway, Jasmin by Molinard is a very beautiful scent, primarily aimed at jasmine lovers, but perfectly wearable by anyone, because it is neither too challenging nor overpowering. It is a serious, grown-up jasmine scent, expertly supported by orange blossom. Let me compare it to some well-known jasmine soliflores (note: strictly speaking, these are not soliflores, but you know what I mean): Lush Lust - similarity 60%: Jasmin by Molinard doesn’t come close to Lust’s raw power. Lust is quite indolic, ‘dirty’ and very strong, sometimes overwhelmingly so, whereas JM is softer, prettier and much more tolerable. Nasomatto Nuda - similarity 80%: Nuda is another grown-up jasmine, without any kiddie-friendly embellishments. In comparison to JM, Nuda is stronger, denser, slightly more challenging. Nuda breaks the ice, JM tags along. Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge - similarity over 90%: Jasmin Rouge and Jasmin Molinard are not identical, but fraternal twins - very similar in both concept and execution, however the addition of orange blossom makes JM slightly sweeter and less aristocratic. Obviously, JM is also cheaper and widely available, whereas Jasmin Rouge is an overpriced oddity. Guerlain Jasminora - similarity 80%: Jasminora is more transparent than JM, a bit brighter and fruitier in the opening, but they are still very much alike. Since Jasminora is nowadays hard to find, JM serves as a reliable substitute. The Body Shop Indian Night Jasmine - similarity 85%: TBS fragrances are not known for their projection and longevity, hence INM appears as a dilluted version of JM, which is longer lasting and more impactful. But other than that, they are very similar. Mugler Alien - similarity 50%: to me, Alien in all its versions has always smelled very artificial; there is something in it that I just can’t tolerate, as it smells so plasticky and literally - alien! In comparison, Jasmin Molinard is an earthling. :) Carthusia Gelsomini di Capri (original version) - similarity 60%: Gelsomini di Capri is the most realistic indolic jasmine that I have ever smelled; it is almost off-putting in its resplendent natural beauty! In direct comparison, JM is much tamer, prettier, less indolic and more likely to please fair-weather fragrance consumers, whereas Gelsomini is unapologetically niche and aimed at true conoisseurs.

Bought this while on special at Anthropologie! This is a beautiful, and very heady jasmine. At the same times there is a freshness and rosy warmth in the dry down of the scent. I w agree that this does remind one of Jasmine Rouge (will need to recheck the review of that one) but for me this is closer to Rodin's signature scent, but with a rosier dry down. Compared to Lush's Lust, this one is 'cleaner' and not as earthy- and lasts longer on skin and clothing. Expect this scent to perform beautifully in summer heat- it leaves a beautiful sillage without overwhelming. SO- if you like Rodin's signature scent, or Lust's Lush, but want something a bit more elegant and fresher, please try to get your hands on this. At the bargain price I got tis it was a steal; at $69 for a full bottle it is still an amazing, long lasting bargain.

Loud and clear jasmine of a very high quality. This house proves that you don't really need excessive branding, pr and hype to arrive at a great perfume. The jasmine here is pretty feral, not exactly what you'd describe as clean and demure... But she's multifaceted, at once green, natural, creamy and animalic. You have to be bit of a jasmine psycho (like me) for this to be anywhere near an easy reach. People around you will smell you. Unisex, as all soliflores are, yet I feel that if I met a man who wore this, he'd ruin my life.

I agree with EmmaSmells. I ordered a sample of Molinard Jasmin this week, and I was so looking forward to it because of the comparisons to TF's Jasmin Rouge. This is absolutely nothing like JR, except for the jasmine. In JR, the jasmine is backed by this warm, softly spicy, vaguely animalic base, and the ylang ylang brings out the warmth and creaminess in the jasmine. Molinard's Jasmin is just fancy soap at grandma's house - jasmine is there, for sure, but it's thin and after about an hour and a half it's gone.

I adore the heady intensity of Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge and this is the first Jasmine perfume I've found that could possibly match that (at a MUCH better price point).

Pure jasmine. I can't label it as fresh nor animalic - it lies smack dab in the middle. Very like the flower itself. Simply a must-try for jasmine lovers.
