Secret Sucré

Another favourite in my collection. A rich, sugary, powdery scent - very potent, but not overpowering. It sits close to the skin and lasts (on me) for 12+ hours. It's very linear - starts as a strong combination of nougat, vanilla and caramel, with benzoin and tonka joining after about 15-30 minutes, and stays that way until it disappears completely. It completely obscures any and all outside smells - I tried sampling some other perfume while wearing this fragrance and could not smell it, even with the testing paper pulled right into my face. For me, it's one of the most powerful fragrances I've ever tried - I spray it once and it lasts all day, never diminishing in strenghth until I take a shower. It's rich and its sweetness is nuanced, made complex by the carmelised nature of sugars used in the composition, as well as the prominent benzoin. For me, a fantastic winter fragrance.

It is one of the most beautiful scents I have ever smelled! The first impression is gingerbread. Very sophisticated and discreet. Walnut is also prominent. Somehow reminds the scene if I would open a golden glowing wooden chest with sugary gingerbreads in it & like I would be in a Downton Abbey episode. Definitely reminds me of Christmas but i think it’s not definitely an only winter time fragrance rather a nostalgic one. Soft and harsh accords making a gentle, linear relaxing melody. Although it doesn’t have a big impact -sillage or longevity- a very compact and artistically complex scent. There are fragrances which tell stories to me, shows me scenarios, textures, feelings and eras - this one from the early 1900s. Maybe an older highclass lady who was a passenger of the titanic. I could write a whole book about what this one makes me feel!

One thing I've learned from testing lots of frags is that benzoin smells great with my skin chemistry. While some describe it as a note that can quickly skew medicinal, on me it's a rich, spicy, resin-y note that enhances other notes around it. The benzoin in Secret Sucre is much smoother than it is in, say, Madonna's Truth or Dare Naked, but is still very present. It gives a sweet and spicy depth to the caramel, nougat and powder in SS and the effect is like the chicest fireside imaginable. In fact, SS recalls Margiela's By the Fireside and Reminiscence's Tonka as well. But this isn't a dupe of any frag I've sampled; Secret Sucre is the epitome of a well-executed gourmand. I'm so grateful to have swapped for this with a sweet fellow Fragrantican! ❤

Absolutely lovely 💕 This isn't a super sweet, gourmand perfume with strong projection/longevity if you're looking for that! If you want true gourmand then fragrances such as Bianco Latte are a great choice. This is quite airy and sophisticated. Secret Sucre is definitely not a sexy, date night perfume ..rather an everyday daily one. I have the post-2023 version and I do not pick up the vintage, mature facet in Secret Sucre, actually it's youthful! Imagine a powdery, sweet nougat-ish smell, nothing like makeup powder at all - a bit of nuttiness, woodsy characteristics. Tl;dr Secret Sucre smells high quality and niche. It's a feminine and classy office-oriented perfume.

First impression review - this is beautiful! It's a soft, sweet gingerbread scent. It's a pretty soft sillage and projection. I did about six sprays. Not sure yet about longevity. The spices are soft. It is a super feminine scent and lovely for every day wear. This can be worn in any season. It's not too spicy that it can only be worn in the fall/winter. It's soft, sweet and girly. I did amp it up by layering BBW Jolly Gingerbread Village. I smell soooooo good! Excited to have this in my collection. Will update on longevity later. But I don't mind layering or reapplying. Such a happy scent. Two thumbs up for me.

This has to be the best gourmand I have ever had the privilege to smell. On me it's quite linear: powdery nougat, warm vanilla, creamy caramel with some nuttiness and tonka lurking in the background. It's not overwhelmingly, nauseatingly, headache-inducingly sweet, but a perfectly balanced blend. Very sophisticated and elegant, has the kind of class that you don't often come across in this genre of scents (especially if you're at the mall). Longevity is great, projection is soft enough to be wearable in most settings. I personally find this to be very feminine, however, everything is unisex if you just wear it.

This one is still on my wishlist, after I worked in a niche perfume stand I found this one and fell in love immediately! I'm glad I could spray over me for free everyday. :D Anyways, this is the gourmand scent that is not too sweet that creates nausea nor headache to me or others. Very caramel like with a hint of woodiness and kinda mystery feeling. I can't wait to have my own bottle. The only thing that I'm a bit put off is the dryout, too strong woody for my taste it turns even a bit medicinal smell to me. But despite that I still love this one and can't wait to put my hands again on it!

This one is just so so beautiful. It is not nearly as sweet as the notes would suggest. By far not a usual pop sweet caramel-vanilla frag. No. This is beautiful, subtle, woody and so elegant. Definitely a unisex frag. On me starts out nutty with some vanilla and with time settles into a lovely and subtle woody, powdery, caramel-nougat scent. Very decadent and very warm. Deep and classy. Definitely a gourmand scent. Beautiful! Last ages and draws so many compliments!

Criminally underrated. Falled in love with it for the cold season. Not your typical sugary perfume. It’s like a trip to a fair with chestnut grilled in a corner and nougat selled in another one. It’s not overwhelming, it’s very comforting like a hug from someone you didn’t see in a long time. Maybe it’s linear yes but it’s definitely something you don’t smell on others. Very different from the classic Molinard vibe. It’s the perfume of good memories.

Secret Sucré ... what can I say ... as a Turkish dessert - a very sweet, fragrant, delicious dessert. It starts quite noisy, but quickly becomes muffled and wonderful. Its sweetness is special, it has a strange tart hue, which is quite addictive. For lovers of sweet aromas, this will be a real treasure. I can feel a pronounced vanilla, caramel notes, benzoin, and in the beginning it really smells like nougat.

My goodness, what a gorgeous scent this is! I hadn’t seen that coming :) I really like that this isn’t too sweet. It’s sweet but not a cloying kind. Reminds me a bit of Kouros Body pour homme ☀️

A true sugar scent that is not cloying at all, which I found surprising. I love gourmands, but I'm not the biggest fan of pure white sugar in perfumery. In my opinion there is a huge difference between sweet and sugary. Sugary is a specific kind of sweet that is different from fruity-sweet or vanilla-sweet, so I was not quite what to expect from a fragrance that is explicitly named after sugar, but consists of lots of different sweet notes. Secret Sucré definitely has a noticeable sugar note that feels kind of crumbly and crunchy to me, and I like it. Very unusual. Due to the creamy, warm notes of benzoin and cashmeran it doesn't come across screechy and has some depth. A hint of jasmine, musky and woodsy notes add lightness, so it's overall a balanced scent. Now don't get me wrong, this is still very, very sweet, just not in a shrill high-pitched way. I can't really smell the walnut note and I only detect the nougat when I really search for it, and it's the white, chewy sort of nougat, not the soft brown kind. To me this isn't much of a nutty scent. Nougat is one of my favorite treats to eat, so I had hoped to smell more if it, but the fragrance is nice anyways. A gourmand comfort scent that doesn't overwhelm. I appreciate that they didn't add lots of smoke, woods and spices so this has a certain airiness to it, even though it's intense, long-lasting and more suited to cold weather.

I really need to stop letting myself fall for yet another exclusive, hard to find, pricier than I'm comfortable with fragrance. I just adore Molinard as a brand. It all started with the very inexpensive Vanille Patchouli. I couldn't believe what I got for the price! It's obvious the quality of ingredients used in this is above baseline. It's a soft, pretty straight forward scent that's very typical of Molinard style and completely unlike anything I've smelled before. The scent color is creamy beige. It's nutty and chewy with the softness of powder keeping it from going full gourmand. It's yummy but not dense and heavy at all. I could see myself wearing this on a daily basis if I didn't have so many others to get through. I want a full bottle badly and will not be able to get it out of my head until that happens.

Total 180 with this one :( It smells incomplete to me now, like it was rushed and the ingredients weren't totally blended. The benzoin sticks out noisily, which makes the powder / nougat combo hard to stand after a short while. Although not listed, it behaves and smells like a play on musk after it's been on the skin a while and starts to project. It's a clean laundry, bordering metallic musk. Benzoin, clean (metallic) musk, powder and nuts (nougat). But the ratios are imbalanced and things go weird. Hard to believe I couldn't stand the thought of never owning a bottle and now I just can't stand it. I have a hard time writing it off because it was such a wonderfully comforting, delicious scent to me before. My samples haven't turned :( It's just a sad example of fragrance ruined by changing taste.

It's super nice to have more powdery fragrance during cold days. Beautiful bottle and cap. Instantly get the nougat scent. Not too sweet but just right. Somehow, I sense a bit almondy note in it. There were several moments I felt a similar feeling with the "By the Fireplace" fragrance, I guess it's the cashmeran working. In general, it's not very strong nor lasting. You almost have to put your nose right next to the skin to sniff to get the smell. But comforting for sure! A good pillow time fragrance.

Sweet sugar and vanilla nutty caramel. The scent is a blast of nutty sugary vanilla caramel with hints of tonka spices. There is a creamy nutty woodiness to it that really makes the scent great. It reminds me of yummy things baking at Christmas time and the scent of vanilla wafting through the air. There is a strong caramel presence, but the nutty vanilla dominates. Its kind of like the scent of those caramelized roasted almonds or sweet caramelized hazelnut/chestnut/walnut scent.

For me, this perfume smells like nougat - sweet and nutty. I usually don't really like gourmet perfumes because they can be too sweet and cloying, but this one is moderately sweet. The name describes the fragrance perfectly. Secret Sucré is not white refined sugar that is available to everyone, it is muscovado sugar - a deep, caramel and creamy, secret ingredient of dessert that makes the dish unique, but at the same time exquisite and not too sweet.

Secret Sucré is indeed a little sugary secret because it is not just a sweet scent that swallows all the different notes. Even though caramel, vanilla and tonka bean are the predominant notes I get, Secret Sucré never gets overbearingly sweet. I attribute this to the powder and cashmere notes that add some elegance and refinement to this perfume. Longevity on my clothes is excellent and after 12 hours I get mostly powdery wafts.

Have just got a 2 ml decant. I get sugar and not much more. There is also some note that I cannot identify that slightly irritates me. I plan to give it a few global wearings but can already bet I will stay with Molinard Vanille Patchouli. Definitely a very specific, niche fragrance that only may attract a small group of people with some experience in this field. What is good for the fans, it's a quite powerful scent.
