Iunu

Tried it today in a MB branch in close proximity to a famous castle West of London. The sales consultant was extrememly pleasant and knowledgeable. We both chatted "fragrance" and then she presented me with this intriguing concoction: very modern cotemporary scent. Typical modern opening with (pink?) pepper, ginger and while not listed I somehow get pimento (red chilly), and as AMOUAGE was mentioned earlier in a review, I disagre with the "Jubilation XV" connotation (as that one is soo much more dense and sweet and has NO FLORALS WHATSOEVER) To me it's more of a very light (diluted) blend of "Reflection" (the white jasmine = core note) combined with OPUS IV (the elemi, exotic note) by AMOUAGE and a really non-hippie modern Patchouli. Of course a £65 EdT cannot be a strong and potent as the £165 EdP (AMOUAGE) and the whole product is lighter. Pleasantly so! We don't have to wear EdP ALL the time, do we? I really love this for it is pleasantly exotic, well blended, interesting and I LOVE THE FLACON, handsome bottle with a safe and solid safe twist to open pump spray top. The entire bottle screams "well thought through and well made". Being slightly spoilt by AMOUAGE, I think the projection and sillage could be stronger, but it is only an EdT and for that it is performing very well. Seriously good for what I consider a great daytime winter (evening autumn fragrance). 8 out of 10

Mystical, addictive, sultry, warm, hazy, dark, sublime - to me Iunu is an instant winner among Navigations Through Scent line. Love from first sniff and it comes from person who tries to avoid ginger and jasmine by all means. And here we go, - besieged and bewitched. Name Iunu comes from ancient Egyptian form "Iwnw" (The Pillars), - lost city of Heliopolis, where was major cult of ancient Gods Ra and Atum.

As mentioned below this is a quality scent. Has good longevity but stays close to the skin for most of its duration. Lovely drydown and encourages me to try some of the others in the range.

I ordered this based only on several reviews and descriptions and was not disappointed. It's opening is very exotic and spicy-- lots of piquant ginger, pepper and elemi oil--the top notes spin your head around the first time you smell it. Then it quickly settles down into warm florals with a hint of spice--think jasmine, iris, almost something chrysanthemum-y about it, though that's not an ingredient. The base is very warm and cozy-- woody amber and patchouli--and it stays on the skin for a very long time. I think this scent might be just as nice on a gent as it is on a woman. Maybe this is how George Clooney smells? If you buy the whole ancient Egypt marketing, then I think this is exactly how you might expect Nefertiti to smell. There's something exotic about it--yet it is not a loud scent and it politely stays within bounds (it is British, after all). Well done.

"Warning - may contain magic" Smells very expensive, exotic and opulent. Opening with ginger and elemi, going through a slightly floral phase with ylang ylang and jasmine together with hints of pepper and finally settling on a base of woods, moss and patchouli. High quality no doubt, with good longevity and moderate projection. Weirdly, I get a very oriental and amber-like feeling throughout, even if it's not listed. This reminds me of a high-class version of Tom Ford for men. Overall, an excellent sweet ambery ginger!

A scent dark, bitter, spicy. Ginger is a spicy ginger and not fresh. There is a lot of black pepper and seeds. Jasmine is not in the foreground. I like it but I would not buy it. Remembers a little donna karan black cashmere . 6.5 / 10 good performance.

This fragrance is all about ginger. Medicinical smell. Black ginger tea. This fragrance doesn ́t sceam. It has an fine projection. Ginger and pepper are the most prominent notes. This could be a fragrance for a fine gentleman.

Performance isn't spectacular, but it's an interesting fragrance. Very unusual - incensey, original, - good for hippies!

What an intense, dark and mysterious scent. Not really heavy and resinous though. One for a fella who is confident in who they are and doesn't follow the crowd. I donf mind it for when I want to wear something a bit avant garde. The ginger is brief and the jasmine low key on me. I get a lot fruity elemi and tonnes of black pepper. I can barely detect oak moss but yes a big of patch in the base. I think they are trying to create a somewhat Incense like scent. Dark dusty crypts and ancient sarcophagus. A dusty woodiness and almost a touch of pencil lead. Yes, ancient Egypt does spring to mind. I'm not sure I'd want to nuzzle fella though if he was wearing this mysterious creation. It is somewhat aloof. A bit above average for sillage and longevity.

A very unisex potent stimulating spicey ginger jasmine fragrance. Ginger is always invigorating and so it is here. It needs a bit more sweetness to satisfy my sweet tooth. I would love to use it for layering. It has a big personality and could work some magic with some of my other more feminine fragrances. I normally steer clear of any fragrance with black pepper as my skin amps it up beyond belief. Thankfully it works really well here. Clearly ginger, jasmine, black pepper and elemi are a winning combination. The ylang ylang also works really well here. A big thumbs up from me.

Last time I smelled jasmine similar to this one was in a South London garden in the summer, only the Jasmine in Iunu is deeper and more sultry. Elemi sweetens beautifully the whole composition and the spices are prominent and well blended, creating a background on which jasmine shines supreme. I usually avoid oakmoss but here it is not sour and hardly detectable to my nose. In spite the strong spicy element this is a very wearable scent though by far not bland. Totally unisex and ideal for any weather especially Summer. Would be interesting to explore the rest of the line.

I completely agree with 'sniffaholic'. The opening is rather floral yet confidently intoxicating but manages to not smell synthetic at all. What I love about this perfume is that with each sniff fresh ingredients spring to mind, whether its the dry down or top notes. It is also very similar to Amouage Jubilation Men without the thick Honey. The Myrrh is very prominent once the fragrance has dried down. Overall 4.5/5.

Amazing fragrance; earthy, green, sweet/pine, dark, resinous with good sillage, great projection. Dries into a woodsy, sweetly, spicy fragrance; very masculine...and I love it!!
