Ylang-Ylang

This is more a vanilla musk fragrance with a hint of ylang and spice, but it's gorgeous nonetheless. I also have the shower gel and body lotion in this scent, which helps enormously with scent longevity. The fragrance sadly seems to be discontinued, but I think the shower gel is still available.

Just felt compelled to say that my first impression of this on me is that it’s strongly reminiscent of Chanel No. 5 EDT...

This perfume is not my usual cup of tea but I enjoy it a lot and find myself returning to it over and over again. It feels warm, soft and comforting. There is a similar mystical aura to it as my past grandma's vanity I used to sneak up to as a kid. An olfactory potpourri of cologne, powder, lipstick, tiger balm... I find even a very subtle note of sweat (?) from this perfume but it is not unpleasant at all, only adds even more depth and fascination. Normally I am quite appalled by any animalistic notes. The perfume is balanced and well composed, not chaotic. Mature. Lady-like, but might work unisex too. The performance should be better, however. Fades too quickly. Not exactly similar but I find some reseblence to LouLou by Cacharel.

Decent. Quite linear and not really possessing the exoticism I expect from Ylang Ylang but very nice all the same and the floral opening masks just how much vanilla there is in the base! Jeez the musky/vanilla drydown is long lived. I liked it and it’s not even my scene.

I agree with the other reviewers who state that this is more of a musk-based fragrance. It's light, delicate, soft - a clean pale yellow blanket of a fragrance, appropriate for the soaps and other bathroom products that this was originally conceived for. Not a powerhouse by any stretch of the imagination, but an easy reach - non-demanding, unobtrusive enough to be worn at work. It's an almost-powdery, almost-soapy musk, rounded and toned down by a hint of yellow florals, vanilla, and spice. For all that it's named after ylang-ylang, the flower itself seems content to remain in the background - I wouldn't have named it without the listed notes. It's reasonably well blended and "abstract" - hard to pinpoint any one thing in particular. It hums along, but doesn't sing. It's listed as a chypre but there's no darkness in this. Even the musk itself leans more towards clean-skin than animalic. It's also vaguely nostalgic - like a fading memory of the 90's, like a paired-down "big" fragrance that's been left to bleach in the sun.

Nice fragrance if you like the other products from this line. Performance is not good tough. Terrible longevity. You'd expect EDTs to not last forever, but this was so fleeting it was more like a body spray. Disappointing release from the otherwise excellent Molton Brown.

I don't wear florals, but this one really has my attention. It is stunning in a classy beautiful way. It is sweet and soft and elegant. I find it thoroughly romantic!

Does anyone know of a perfume that smells similar? This is my favorite scent and I've been (unsuccessfully) looking for its replacement.
