Lounge Lizard

Sweet lemon and juicy bergamot mixed with a medley of clean white florals, green rosemary, and white musks. Soft. Clean. Posh. The opening is very clean, tart, and juicy with that a lovely rendition of the classic citrus/white floral formula, but kept slightly nuanced by a rosemary green twinge. As it dries down it gets creamier, muskier, and sweeter, and the focus becomes the white florals. The florals are very similar to the white florals in the "The Dreamer" by Versace, but it takes a different, musky fresh direction by including sweet citrus and musk instead of the tobacco/aromatic notes TD has. I can kind of see the fruit loop comparison like it was listed below, but I don't get any smoke. This has been one of the easiest dumb reaches I have in my collection. I hope to get Tobacciana here soon, but I will wait for the semi annual sale. Love to layer this on top of any darker fragrance that could use a fresh and sweet touch, but I've especially enjoyed layering it with "Tom of Finland" by ELDO and "Endymion Concentre" by Penhaligons. Moderate performance and projection. 9/10. Signature Scent Worthy. Song vibe - Pink + White by Frank Ocean

Really unique smell, very citrusy and fresh. It evolves in a sunscreen and wet dog direction while keeping the citrus, but not in a bad way? I know that sounds crazy but I emptied 2 samples and a full bottle, and I’m about to buy another full bottle. Easily my favorite everyday fragrance. It is interesting and vaguely sexy, but not overwhelming (I get nauseous easily). Truly unisex as well.

I'm going to be like so honest with you right now, I only bought this because I love John Lurie. A nominative coincidence that I indulged in. I love rosemary, the smell. I love it in my lattes and on my steak, but that's not to say I don't fucking hate it in this perfume. Something about how it dances and sings and mingles with the other notes is so odious. It smells like the bathroom of a hostel in Bocas Del Toro that I once visited when I was fifteen. There's even the faint don't-flush-your-toilet-paper note.. I don't know how they did it!

if stora skuggan's moonmilk reminds me of a milky bowl of froot loops, then lounge lizard eats it straight from the cereal box. although i think the brightness from the citrus balances out the sugared quality of the white florals, i can see this being too sweet for some people's taste.
