Patchouli Palace

Probably one of the best (and most criminally under-the-radar) pure patchouli scents on the market. Devoid of any annoying cloying vanilla, dense syrupy-sweet amber, or screechy-ass medicinal camphoraceousness that ruins so many other patchoulis, Patchouli Palace smells like the most high quality patchouli oil warmed up, rounded out (without losing *any* of its earthy character), and ever-so-gently sprinkled with spice. It's warm, musky, and distinctly patchouli. If you're a patch head like me, you must seek this out. Absolutely kicking myself for selling off my bottle during an unhinged, hysteric decluttering phase I went through last year.

Update from my review a few years ago - I managed to wrangle another bottle of this and absolutely love it. Truly one of the best patchoulis on the market IMO. While it behaves more like a patch skin scent (sillage is very low), it has solid lasting power. Happy to have it in my collection again.

Easily one of, if not my current favorite patchouli fragrance. Opens spicy and green and dries down chocolate cake-y and sweet, all the while maintaining that iconic Mondo Mondo soapy freshness I love so much. Golden hour vibes. I’ve never been a HUGE patchouli fan, but I was pretty impressed with this one. Very simple patchouli, but nonetheless a very good patchouli. Due to its simplicity and the freshness of the DNA I could see this being a patchouli fans best friend for the fall and spring when heavier takes on the note like “Psychidelique” by Jovoy or “Female Christ” by 19-69 might be a bit too much, still a little too much oomph for summer in my opinion though. This is the perfect patchouli scent, if you love patchouli you will love this. I strive to smell like an earth goddess ( hence the name), this perfume makes me feel like a forest nymph. It’s definitely not my every day perfume, but it’s what I reach for when I want to smell a little more unique. Mondo mondo makes great perfumes, one of my favorites being Center of the world, if you like that one then you should definitely try the whimsical Patchouli Palace.

Wet forest floor and petrichor. Simple, realistic, and high quality. Wore it for the first time on a rainy day after a dry spell and the way the scent emanating from my neck matched and complimented the petrichor outside was incredible. As one of the reviewers described it below, truly forest nymph vibes.
