Mediterranean Coast

Definitely my favorite Monotheme perfume, smell wise. I wish it would last longer on my skin! It reminds me of cycling down the Côte D’Azur after spending the evening having a long, drawn out and citrussy dinner on a summer night. Very green. I am not getting much of the lactonic accord that is listed, but rather a slightly musty smoke accord. As if someone put out a cigarette in an ash tray filled with lemon wedges. Which to me is a good thing!

I love this scent - I wish Monotheme hadn't discontinued it. I'm desperate to find one like it!

This is a rather nice perfume by Monotheme. I rather like the glass bottles with their plastic stopper cover and the blue colour puts me in mind of southern Italian coastline. I find I get about two and a half hours of this as a strong skin scent to gentle projector before it turns into a very close skin scent. About four and a half hours in it's gone. On first blast you get the fig, a touch of green tea, jasmine and musk as well as a hint of a kind of smokiness for the first two or three minutes before it vanishes and the fig takes over as the dominant note. I don't think there's coconut in there but the effect of mixing fig leaves and jasmine is going to have that accord effect. I would say there is a hint of citrus in the opening but that vanishes quickly. I'd say this works for spring, summer and early autumn and daytime. It's good value at between a quarter and a third of the price you would pay for most of the designer equivalents. It's definitely unisex and right down the middle. Worth a try. Good value for money.

Monotheme's Mediterranean Coast is a Unisex fragrance that for me leans more towards the masculine. There is a sharp opening burst of Fig leaves, very bitter but on dry down becomes sweet and musky with the bitterness fading into the background. I can detect a creamy Coconut which is not in the list of notes and a very gentle touch of Green Tea. The perfume is presented in a beautiful clear Apothecary bottle and the shade of the perfume reminds me of the Mediterrean Sea. If you have been to the Blue Grotto on the Island of Capri, it is that exact shade. This in not something I can see myself wearing but I have passed it on to my husband who thinks it is a fragrance he can wear.

I can't tell if I like it or not. It certainly reminds me of the coastline. Its quite earthy, and there is a real aquatic, salty sea-spray aroma. If I were to paint a picture I'd say it evokes laying on a hotel bed in the Mediterranean, the window open and the smell of the sea, fresh dewy leaves drifts into the room through the window. Oddly enough it also reminds me of a scent you might find in the 80s or 90s. A room spray of sorts. It smells...20th century like? I can't explain it. However I do like it the more it dries down. 5/10

I don't find fragrances with a fig note particularly easy to wear, it can be a little syrupy on me, however in this fragrance it's very good. It's well blended, and the tea note is refreshing and very soothing. I'm a little disappointed in it if I'm honest, the fragrance is lovely, but it's the first from Monotheme that just doesn't last on my skin, or indeed clothes, I sprayed about six sprays, and got about ninety minutes, nobody could smell it on me. Lovely, while it lasts.

Mediterranean Coast is a linear and simply woody fragrance. It is completely unisex and light (perfect for summer evenings). I like to brighten it up by layering with Monotheme Verde d'Arancia (if I just want to add some citrus) or Agrumi di Sicilia (if I am after some citrus and very light floral tones).

Its a cheapo fig frag. Its no Philosykos or even body shop Italian fig. But honestly for 20$ from chemist warehouse its not bad. Opens very much herbacious savoury fig leaf, with a bargan nod to Hermes Med, but the drydown is more green tea and musk.

the scent? pretty good. Fresh, green, a little bit sweet. Longevity and sillage? None. Its basically a cologne

I have enjoyed a few Monotheme fragrances (Cyclamen is the keeper so far) and have been sampling and resampling this one every time I see it in the chemist. I love a 'blue' fresh fragrance generally and thought I loved this one the first time I tried. But I think I finally have to take it off my 'to buy' list. My final review from today's try-on is: starts cucumber-y (a bit too cucumber-y for me) then becomes funky-seaweedy and sharply salty (too funky/sharp for me) then slowly fades and sweetens.

This is a masculine scent and I’m not sure if I like it or not. I don’t really get notes of the sea. The opening smells like the body odour of a man and one who eats a lot of spices in his diet. It has that coriander/celery spicy body odour note to me. That said, it doesn’t smell dirty or unclean. After the calm-down, it’s subtle and quite pleasant. However, it fades quickly and within a few hours it’s gone. Might try it on the husband.

This is a photorealistic Thai Green Curry to my nose. There are times where it's much fresher and greener then it reverts to green curry scent again. The dry down mellows out to a soft green musky scent, which I find pleasing. It almost has a slight toasted milkiness on my skin.

I tried this today, on my shirt, and I was hoping for a reminder of the glorious Italian coast, perhaps a citrus sunshiney vibe.... I hadn't checked the notes, but this still smells as it did initially, of stale cigarette smoke. Whilst that may remind some of certain areas of the Med coast, it was unpleasant and a real disappointment. Both of my companions turned up their nose, said "yuck" and moved away. I have both fig fruit and fig leaf oriented frags, and like or even love them, this is not in any way similar. It is stale on me, and hopefully works on some skins types, not mine. At least, for those for whom it works, it is an affordable scent....

Imagine being transported to a charming Italian coastal town, where the air carries the scents of mint, salt, and tobacco. In a dated motel room with weathered shutters, you recline on a creaky mattress, enveloped in a unisex scent with a masculine touch. As you open the shutters, sunlight reveals a picturesque scene—a tapestry of emerald forests and rhythmic waves. Mediterranean Coast is a wonderfully captivating journey, blending crisp seaside aromas and masculine spice into a bottle. Although I wouldn't consider this fragrance a safe blind buy, it's a perfume that seems to perfectly evoke multifaceted imagery of the Mediterranean.

I get salty ocean, freshly cut fig leaves, a slightly bitter citrus, musk and a woody note. The woodiness could be the tea but I'm inclined to think that the notes list on here is incomplete and there are some woody accords in the base. Sits relatively close to the skin. This is the spritzer for a walk on the beach, after exercise... or as an accompaniment to your morning coffee. The two smells combined are quite lovely! Easily unisex.

A big burst of fig leaf with an ocean breeze (a slight salt note) to start with. The green tea note comes out an hour later on me. A musky dry down, with the fig still perceptible. Very nice and quite unisex. Moderate longevity and silage. Aptly named,as it does conjure images of the Mediterranean coast. It reminds me of the Body Shop Italian Summer Fig due to the dominant fig leaf note.

It doesn't last too long, but man is it pretty. It smells really figgy and like fruity black tea. Not too sweet, but it feels genuinely aquatic too. I've only worn this in the cold, but am looking forward to wearing this in Australia's hot Summers.

Initial blast is fresh fig leaves, Very real and invigorating, brings Mediterranean coast to you, but then is morphing into a sharp green tea scent with musk at the drydown. Moderate to soft. I wanted fig leaves to last longer.

A really fresh scent, but alas, it doesn’t remind me of the Mediterranean coast, although I live by the sea. I foolishly grabbed three of them, I use one sometimes, two are packed, and I don’t understand what to do with them.
