Monoi

Really pretty, simple tropical perfume. It was $13, I believe on Fragrance Net and I prefer it to some higher end perfumes. One I always want in my collection and makes me want to try this house’s other perfumes.

Evocations and references are highly individual and variable. This evokes tropical flowers and sunscreen with fragrance lift. It really smells like monoi oil. Tahitian Gardenia with that vanilla aspect and fruity osmanthus, just like the notes promise. It's yellow and sunny and can blend with other genres of fragrance if you don't spray too much. Kinda simple but I wouldn't say cheap.

Absolutely NOT the same as Yves Rocher or other monoi products. As a tiaré lover having tested several monoi oils and perfumes, I confirm this tends more towards peach/osmanthus than tiaré. There is definitely coconut and maybe vanilla too, which make it very sweet, but I can't detect the tiaré at all, which is why I buy monoi. Still nice, but I'm giving it away

I agree with previous reviewers, it smells just like Monoi by Yves Rocher and I love it for summer. This isn’t your complicated fragrance which develops over time and so on, it is just a comfortable cheap scent. This is your “comfy hoodie” summer scent. Nothing special but that is the magic of it.

I had bought it cause, despite detesting anything too creamy or gourmand, I had found that I actually love the floral creaminess of monoi. This is extremely cheap in italy, like 10€, so I blind bought it. Monotheme is my personal go-to when I want something cheap yet good quality. It's a bit too lactonic and gourmand for my taste, still lovely classic scent of monoi tho. I actually prefer it as a night time scent: monoi can be quite narcotic and sexy and I feel like it fits the night time more.

The opening is plumeria flower, then the osmanthus gives it the 'dried flower soaked in coconut oil' aspect of monoi. Comes off as a beachy sun cream. Nice for layering.

I could only smell the Monoi flower before the dry down. After that all I smelled was coconut and vanilla the rest of the day. Just smelled like suntan lotion or oil.

If you like monoï and have the luxury to pick between the yves rocher and this one, always get the yves rocher one! This one, the fragance blend is off balance. The blend is strange....its smells like a suntan cream gone off/has passed it's selling date. It has something sickly sweet in it combined with the peach that makes it smell like it's gone off and turned very bad. It's not good. It really smells like a female shampoo or suntan cream gone bad. Not a summer fragance unless you have wear this as a revenge thing or if you want people to leave you alone. This will be very effective then. ;-) I would not even recommend this to my worst enemy. Sorry. I love Monotheme usually but this is a big no no.

Monotheme has become my new favourite brand, I’ve bought 7 blind buys from this brand and there was only one I didn’t like, luckily I have a 15 year old daughter who has a different preference to me so can give her them. Anywho... Monoi 🪷🌺🪸🌱🍀🌾🪸 soon as I smelt this I felt instant love for it 🥰 this stunning, gorgeous beautiful, clean, comforting scent is my new signature 😍 I might be over hyping it but it’s everything I look for in a perfume. I can smell the coconut instantly it’s creamy sweet, floral but not old woman floral more like a Caribbean island standing in front of a waterfall surrounded by exotic plants, flowers and trees and a beautiful 6ft tall black man with dreadlocks appears from the water smelling like almond, vanilla and coconut oil looking like a Demigod sent from heaven 😩😩 it’s not expensive at Notino so give it a try and if you don’t like it get in touch, I’ll have it and pay for shipping 😂😂 Hope this helps...

The Peach and Osmanthus notes are most evident here. Indeed, the two can often seamlessly segue, one into the other. As for the titular 'Monoi Oil' note, ...that depends on what Monotheme even means by the term. Monoi is floral-scented coconut oil, The most traditional flower is tiare (gardenia), but other scents are also common. So in truth, monoi isn't really a single note unto itself, but rather some degree of coconut, plus various floral notes. There is some detectable coconut in this fragrance, but very little that resembles gardenia. However the flowers depicted on the bottle are actually frangipani (also known as Plumeria), ...so maybe a frangipani-scented monoi is what is intended here. That seems possible, but in any case, the peach-osmanthus remains the leading notes.

It’s beautifully floral for the first 10 minutes. Then a citrus note (a note I also find in the Monotheme Tuberose fragrance) seems to overpower a bit. It’s not a bad scent, but I’ve smelled better monoi/beach type fragrances. It lacks the coconut creaminess that Yves Rocher Monoi oil has.

The holy grail of suntan oil-sunscreen-beach scents at a value price. I’ve tried nearly every Monotheme, and this one actually lasts and lasts. Monotheme Monoi is unisex to my nose, in the same way Hawaiian Tropic is for everyone. 5/5.

not tropical, but a fresh, clean, white flower intense type of perfume. a very girly, pink perfume. doesn't remind you of any beach, isn't a warm perfume and does not have any resemblance to anything coconuty or lactonic in fragrance.

a very soft floral scent which reminds me of a nice cozy beach house where you feel relaxed and carefree. this is not a luxurious scent but welcomes you like a big familiar hug. easy to like and easy to wear, very lovely

It smells EXACTLY like ”Monoi by Yves Rocher”. It’s soooooo good and PERFECT for a day on the beach. You will smell just like a summer Goddess. Loving the price as well!

it’s nice for what it is: cheap the longevity is awful and honestly it’s too cloying for summer time but i love the smell as short as it lasts
