Verde d'Arancia

Great refresher for these hot days of summer. It is a dead ringer for Eau d' Orange Verte. I am testing both right now, left arm vs. right arm. Practically indistinguishable. Mind you, the pyramid above is off. Verde d'Arancia (that means exactly Green of Orange, or Orange Verte in French ) smells like the gren parts of an orange tree: mainly leaves (petit grain) and green peel. You also get orange blossom, jasmine and bergamot. There is a green note that should be spearmint. The base is cozy: there is a comforting musc leaning in with a hint of vanilla (but just a shadow). What you don't get is the ripe fruit or the juice nor that candied peel often found in other compositions. This very cheap Monotheme is ideal for any hot summer day. Fresh and refreshing, lifts your mood. Just like its Hermes sibling, doesn't last more than a couple of hours. I tend to overspray but you'll need to reapply every now and then. But at that price (around 12 euros for 100ml) , who cares. Edit April 22: after trying all the other citrus based offerings in the Monotheme line, I elect Verde dArancia as the very best of the family. If you have to pick one among these siblings, choose this one: I can never tire of it and really is a most refreshing, green orange cologne for the summer. You'll love it.

I have bought all the colognes in the book of citrusses line. They don't last long but what can you expect of a line of perfumes that only revolves around light citrussy topnotes. With all of them you get much better performance if you wear them underneath clothing. For 4 to 8 hours of longevity go for 20 sprays underneath your clothes it's a cologne style fragrance with only citrusses after all. Verde D'Arancia smells to me like a little less fleeting sibling to Orange Verte cologne or edt. But to my nose Verde D'Arancia brings a more sunny orange happiness to the table compared to Orange Verte. It's like living in a happy sunny Slim Aarons picture. Under 15 euro's this could be a 10 out of 10 for those who are drawn to light citrus colognes and can appreciate lightness and naturalness over performance. Whatever version you buy from the book of citrusses. All are highly recommended imho! Sadly Bergamotto has changed quite a bit. And turned into something generic and sweet. Check Monothemes websites because here on Fragantica they switched the genders a bit. All book of citrus fragrances are unisex on the Monotheme website Zagara is the only one who is marketed feminine.

I don't know how I have not reviewed this yet; I have owned a bottle of this for a while now and the more it macerated, the more delicious it got. Just as most descriptions below me put it together, this fragrance is exactly like ripping through an orange peel to get to the edible part; the little harsh spray that comes out of it when your fingers begin digging into the fruit is exactly what this recreates. The biggest con of this fragrance is that the scent is closer to the skin and has good sillage in its lasting time frame, which is 15 minutes. And do I love it? Absolutely yes, please. The best layer or even sometimes linear note, I like to wear over the summer. My current summer was filled with this and sunny, beautiful, and fresh days. Thanks to this gem and the other fragrance duo I had it with (Zeitgeist by J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin), they made a citrusy, marine, green, and ambergris duo in a smooth manner, and the scent was to die for. Will always be in my summer rotation.

Spray, then wait for a few seconds for the alcohol to evaporate. You'll get a very natural reconstruction of orange and mandarin, and the refreshing pungent juice of torn peels. An excellent balance between sweet and sour renders it uplifting and fresh for estival daytime. But unfortunately it'll soon fade to a scent resembling juice stain rather than fresh juice. Longevity is poor -- after an hour or two, there is only musk with vague sweet orange tones. Plus, on skin it can be powdery. Projection is at best non-offensive, and very nose friendly. This is definitely unisex. The best price with discount is $20/100ml, as it's de facto EdC so one has to overspray. I'd personally rate it as the best of Book of Citruses.

This is magic! Really excellent, and my favourite so far from this line, I'm a big Monotheme fan just a crime that I don't own more of them really? A supreme mixture of zesty orange opening which is so fresh and lovely all the while maturing to something quite earthy in the base...woody for sure vetiver and even a hint of patchouli. If you're thinking orange? Vetiver? Could this be like TdH? You couldn't be more wrong this is very different much juicier but not lacking in a full body. Again not the longest lasting but I can forgive it as it lasts a bit longer than the bergamot one and smells as good if not better than many other orange fragrances.

This perfume smells EXACTLY like tearing into a slightly unripe orange's skin, when the natural oils oozes out into the air making a visible mist, intoxicating the entire room with a tantalizing fresh scent. It's photorealistic and extremely one dimensional. There's no other depth to it, and it doesn't need it. Probably my biggest heartbreak that I've experienced is that this perfumes longevity is 0. Yet I'm still on bottle 2. I spray probably half the bottle for one use because It's so addicting, at this point I should just stick to eating oranges perhaps...

Very reminiscent of Hermes Orange Verte, though leans more unisex and is available at a fraction of the Hermes price. If you're looking for dry citrus and wish to avoid syrupy sweetness, Verde d'Arancia is a great low risk option. Conjures a particular soap scent memory from childhood that I associate with bathtime. Exudes cleanliness and it is office safe because the fragrance stays close. Can be layered for interesting combinations. I have enjoyed combining with Arabian Oud's Majestic Special Oud (rose+oud) and Ferragamo's Oceani di Seta (salt+florals).

I woke up one day craving the smell of sweet and juicy oranges and Verde D’Arancia came to my rescue. The scent is fresh but also sophisticated, considering it’s just one note: it has that perfume-y, cologne-y quality that doesn’t make you smell like you just spilled orange juice all over yourself, but rather, that you’ve deliberately chosen to smell like a Mediterranean/Levantine orchard ripening in the sun. If you want “natural and uplifting” go for it. Citrus doesn’t linger but for that, this is great value for a full bottle that will get a lot of use.

So yummy and juicy! Atrocious lasting power, but so affordable I don't mind bathing in it. Starts with an amazing realistic orange, with a touch of bitterness, like the peel has just been removed and the oil is still in the air. It's supported by a crisp green backbone that keeps it nice and refreshing. Best for extremely humid days imo, but I also love to wear this out of the shower because it disappears so fast it never completes with the fragrances I want to wear for the day. It's like sipping a nice cool drink on a hot day. Love!

God, I love this. Unfortunately, it has essentially no longevity on my skin or sillage, so I have to perfume-bomb myself in it to get a somewhat lasting cloud—but even despite this, I can't help but just love this scent. It's a true-to-life pure orange scent—fruity, zesty, clean but somehow luxurious. It begins as the zest of an orange before settling into the fruit itself. Smells like watching the sunset settle over the Italian coast, an Aperol spritz in hand.

Fantastic value! From Monotheme purchased in M & S. Smells very similar to Acqua di Parma Arancia Blue Mediterranean which retails at £147 100ml bottle. At £19 quid from M & S you cannot complain! It's zesty, clean, fresh & smells very Italian, luxurious and expensive, perfect for the summer months. Highly recommended. Don't just try it! Buy it! 🙏

I just got this and I'm really enjoying it. It really smells like an orange, I'm not sure if it's the freshest one tho. I find it a little bitter at first but it gets sweeter and sweeter. Very clean and elegant, simple but not boring. Performance is very weak but I don't mind it because is really nice. I really wanna try it in the summer!!!

Somehow this smells strongly of fruit loops to me. IN A GOOD WAY. I'm a citrus lover so this smell is amazing to me, orange but not acidic orange juice smell, like actual orange peel. It was a blind buy for me, but one that happily worked out. It's cheap enough that even if it wasn't great I could still give it away without losing sleep.

Linear but very charming juicy orange, some dimension is added by the slightly bitter and dry orange peel. It smells like you're eating a very ripe, very sweet and juicy orange in a warm car, and you've put the peel on the dashboard. Projection and sillage are low to moderate, and longevity is unsurprisingly low for the price at 3 hours.

This scent sits sweet on me. It's fresh and has longevity on my clothing. I layer it on top of my caramel body oil to give it another dimension and boost longevity of the scent. I enjoy it as a stand alone and as a bedtime fragrance. A very wearable daily fragrance. I love this product line. It's affordable and perfect for layering.

Green citrical, it makes me feel CLEAN and FRESH. I received many complimments from both women and men.It's not a common perfume here in Argentina which is great 'cause I don't like smelling like the rest of the people in the street. It's one of my favorites. I'm using two bottles at the same time.

So delightfully natural. It really smells like squeezing an orange peel. Unfortunately it doesn't project for much longer than if you did that, it's an intimate scent. I really enjoy layering this with gourmands and aromatic scents

Uplifting, fun and bright citrusy scent that lasted about 4-5 hours at least on clothes! I was very surprised by the longevity. It’s not a complex fragrance but the simplicity is just what I need.

It’s exquisite - the smell of green orange peel. I only wish it lasted forever, which it obviously can’t, being a citrus fragrance. The cute bottle adds joy.

Light hearted Eau D'Orange Verte...on a budget. Hermes, eat your heart out.
