Gold Flowers

Having sadly never smelled Gio, I got 2ml of this on a whim when purchasing other samples. Turned out to be the seller's last wee bit, and I am gutted. I only recently started quite enjoying white florals, so I got this tentatively, and just... it's just so good. The tuberose is thick and intoxicating, but the clove (and perhaps the red pepper) lighten it. The sandalwood is dry and lifts the spicy notes up further. Drydown is white floral and soft woody, not dominated by oud, and not too warm. Longevity is good, sillage likewise, as one sort of expects from Montale. I'm not sure I'd want to wear it in a heatwave as it's so powerful on opening and miiiight lean toilet cleaner in high heat, but normal soggy Irish summer is fine with it. Honestly, I hate that I love it so much. There are no bottles to be had anywhere, not even a 1ml decant to be found no matter how I google. Please get in touch if you've got some lying around the place. Or even if there's an affordable dupe. Right now, nothing else I try can quite match it :(

An oriental fragrance with a beautiful tuberose! Very charismatic and sophisticated,ambergris in the background gives the perfume a distinct and unique aura of the floral scent! the brightness of the tuberose is always present in every phase,the sandalwood is there but is not strong. I can not hear the chili, cloves instead are fairly obvious. Overall a nice perfume, but not suitable for every day,is a perfume for those who love tuberose, if you love a bit woody floral and sophisticated this does for you. The sillage is great very good longevity. Sillage: 8.5/10 Longevity: 9./10 Scent: 8./10 Overall: 8./10

I feel like the name of this more accurately reflects the fragrance than the notes. From the notes and comparisons I was expecting an amber tuberose with a kitchen-sink perfumey aspect. Instead this is almost beachy with a slight shampoo feel. It’s amazing in the heat. I’m crazy about it.

just got it love at first spray.. not a big fan of Montale, but love tuberose and spice. The spice is very well blended here and the tuberose is fresh. (this may be a bit sharp for some people as Amanda has mentioned) Definitely a fall-winter perfume. For me it seems energetic.

For tuberose lovers:) It's the leading note in this fragrance for sure. The spicy note are not annoying at all in this one. It doesn't seem too interesting to me, so I wouldn't buy it. But I rather like it than don't.

I have to agree that this is an amazing replacement for Gio by Armani. I cannot tell the difference at all. I’m so happy I purchased this and I’m walking down 90’s memory lane🥰

a wonderful tuberose. Not green, but sweetened by sandalwood, amber and oud with a dash of allspice. I don't feel cloves. outstanding performance. from evening. to have. 8/10

Finally, a Montale that both smells so so good and actually projects on me!!! I love it!!! Yes, it does bare a resemblance to Spellbound which is divine as well.

An expensive, more intense version of Wings by Giorgio Beverly Hills (which I own and love). Gorgeous!

It reminds me so much of Burberry London! I think it is the tuberose and tiare flower that give off that powdery, ambery, exotic-like smell. The drudown is completely different. This is is flowers all the way thickly powdered with amber, while still remaining quite fresh. It has the Montale DNA all the way, which kindea makes it a relative of too many fragrances by the same house. Long lasting, projecting, great silage.

This is one of my favorites of the Montale flower line and is quite lovely. Floral with enough tuberose to enjoy, to my nose anyway, but not like Fracas which to me, is overkill if over applied. It is not particularity sweet, in these modern times, nor dry, but well balanced and thoroughly pleasant with enough character to be interesting.

It has 2 layers- 1-the old-fashioned dusty amber and sandalwood, and 2-the juicy spicy tuberose/Pure Poison mix. I really like the second part but not sure if I enjoy the start of it. The cloves are quite tender and begin appearing after a while.

I had such high hopes for this fragrance, hoping it would be the perfect dupe for Gio from Armani. And I'll admit, during the first spray and opening, I was genuinely impressed. There was a tantalizing similarity that had me excited. But alas, as it settled down on my skin, the resemblance faded like a fleeting dream. Instead of the creamy, delicious longevity of the original Gio, what I got was a gentle whisper of flowers. Don't get me wrong, it's a pleasant scent in its own right, but it's just not what I was hoping for. The disappointment is palpable, like reaching for a ripe peach and finding it slightly underripe. But hey, it's not all gloom and doom. Despite not living up to my Gio-inspired fantasies, it's still a pretty fragrance. So, if you're in the market for something floral and light, this might just be your jam. As for me, I'm open to parting ways with it if someone else sees its value or has a bottle of Kenzo Jungle L'elephant to trade. After all, one person's disappointment could be another's hidden gem. Was really happy when I located a new, unopened 100ml bottle of Montale "Gold Flowers" at a pretty good price. I own/have owned a number of Montale Fragrances. I like the house a lot (more so than Mancera). As an aside, I adore Intense Cafe, Arabian Tonka and a few other Montale perfumes. Was excited to try Montale's take on tuberose. The opening of this perfume is weird. I detect a rather spicy, almost unpleasant, sour bitter note. I imagine the opening notes are red chili pepper and clove? Within minutes, a relatively synthetic tuberose, or floral note presents and manages to merge with the spicy opening. The drydown is a dusty, powdery agarwoud, sandalwood, etc which tempers the initial spiciness (but only by a wee-little bit). On my skin, this perfume wears very dusty and dry. Gold flowers is an extremely spicy, woody perfume with a slim tuberose backbone. More spiciness and woodiness (to my nose) versus tuberose. There is zero sweetness to the tuberose. An okay fragrance, I suppose. Just not quite my style.

I had such high hopes for this one. I love the listed notes, but on my skin (or to my noes) they didn't come together well. Might far better is slightly cooler weather perhaps?

I think that the fragrance note-list isn't complete here. This is mainly a jasmine-tuberose scent, very bright, and clear, not too dense, or heavy, or indolic, like the jasmine or tuberose dominated fragrances in general. It reminds me of Juste un Reve by Parfums de Nicolai, but this fragrance is less sweet, and less creamy. Gold Flowers is an elegant, sheer white flower bouquet, not in the heavy vintage style, it's a modern, sophisticated perfume.

Very spicey. Cloves (they are not sweet at all), peppery. Very indolic tuberose, just a hint of oud. Tbh it mostly just smells sharply spicey with something unidentifiably stinky underneath, but only occasionally. It's not unpleasantly stinky but every time I notice that hint, whatever it is, I don't like it. It does fade with wear but the first hour is a bit of a trial. The rest of the time it's fine. Never smelled Gio so can't comment on that.

Oh so vintage smells like Spellbound a lot. Super cloves and creamy tuberose, that said you can tell it's a modern perfume. The quality is there, and there is a freshness to it that most real vintages do not have. Modern take on a vintage classic scent. For heavy tuberose, jasmine lovers. if madonna truth or dare and Amarige is your jam, go for it. I expect smth very sharp and chemical, but is quite pleasant. Not summer stuff, but applied with caution, is enjoyable. It remind me of some of the 80' big bold frags,but can't put my finger on it.

A Scent of white flowers with a luminous pungent odor and a very rich base with aromas of warm wood and amber. The fragrance is fantastic and very long lasting. Oud is soft and helps to the intensity and duration of the fragrance.

So familiar.... but could not figure out of which perfume it reminds me. I like both Jasmin and Tuberose... but its a tiny bit harsh to me, or would say oldish....maybe it has something common with Elisabeth Arden's Red Door
