Oudyssee

#956 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant and the moment I smelled it I wanted a bottle. It's been that way for me with a number of Montale's fragrances as my taste leans oriental and I've focused on their oudier offerings. This scent is not particularly oudie, fresher than I was expecting. I went upstairs to retrieve my bottle of Versace "Pour Homme Oud Noir" to see if that's what I was smelling, and not really. The lavender and mate makes this quite different in a good way and gives it a hint of the barbershop. Mate is one of those ingredients I've kind of wrestled with in organic teas, as it can have kind of a plastic hint to the smell, but in fragrances like Memo Paris "Irish Leather", Xerjoff "Torino", Louis Vuitton "Cactus Garden", it's been an absolute killer note as it is in this scent. The EDP performance is quite good here. Lasts past lunch as a skin scent. Projection is more moderate. A few hours to arm's length. Got compliments on it right off. BUT DO NOT SPRAY YOUR CLOTHING! A lot of oil in this and it will definitely spot your clothes. For me it's more dinner date wear, casual wear. Cool weather. Fair price. Safe blind buy.

I’m sampling it for the past two days. It shares the lavender freshness and the general vibe of Manceras black gold if you deduct the violet and enhance the Oud (similar notes even..), crazy good for summer. mature fresh/slightly sweet citrus fizzy pop vibes with a prominent Oud blast in the beginning which lasts for brief amount of time thankfully and it’s taken over by a delicious cocktail🍹 of citruses which will remain for the remainder of frag’s life. Smells yummy and refreshing, good sillage I can smell it throughout the day with pleasure, I think I prefer Manceras black gold if I had to pick one but not redundant to own both. BG for winter months or nighttime, Oudysee for summer months or daytime. I let my wife sample it for a day, Definitely a more masculine scent. Huge thumbs up from me !!🫶🙂

This is simply put one of the best pure fresh tenacious full bodied freshies.The citrus combines with the spice so naturally but bracingly undoubtedly masculine.The spice is multifaceted sparkling crackling effervescent and warm all at once. Then the clean soapy lavender comes in adding another fresh dimension.The aquatics give this lovely bubbly sea foam accord without the fishy animalic touch. The amber oud and mate bring sweetness smokiness and greeness as such this enables it to be highly versatile despite being clearly warm weather focused.This is like an elevated ADG Profumo as well as a aquatic focus LV Imagination simply goat status from the niche hero Montale

This is one of the best most monstrous fresh niche perfumes ever.Manages to be a beautiful citrus aromatic aquatic without the pitfalls of smelling like cleaner or cheap it's very good.If you enjoy Roja Oceania,Tiziana Terenzi Foconero,Sedly etc. Then this is a no brainer, its basically Montales rendition of aquatic blue fragrance. At Montales price point but on the higher end of £120 which for the power sillage and longevity make this more than worth it.As it's ever bit as good as those scents if you have none of those buy this instead. Mancera and Montale with the new releases ,are for the most part slowly pulling away and becoming one the best niche houses period.

why is no one talking about this? this is the greatest Montale ever made. i filled up with emotions the first time i smelled this, because it’s EXACTLY how Sicily smells like. The sea, the salt, the oud, its sooo beautiful! Fragrantica is missing the Pink Pepper notes which is listed on their website and found all over the coast of sicily along the salty, volcanic coastlines. you want to smell like a mediterranean vacation? get this. an absolute masterpiece! this is what TF oud minerals wanted to be, but failed.

Great stuff, a nice freshie from montale. I agree with just the facts. You can smell the oud but it's in the background. Not the strongest montale ever but it Is above average. Longevity is pretty good too. 8/10

Delicious smell! This is a more complex version of fougeres marines. One of the better aquatic perfumes I've smelled. The aoud is not predominant and gives the smell a luxurious experience

Guys, believe me... it's a hidden gem. Fresh and masculine, while the oud in the background gives it character. Give it a try and you won't regret.

My first and only Montale fragrance, and I can immediately see the difference between this and the typical French style of perfumery. This is brash, loud, and even slightly harsh to my nose at first. Your typical French fragrance will be blended to the point of being very rounded, soft, and refined. This juice will blast your nostrils, singe your hair and blow out the nearest window at first spray. The first 2-3 hours after applying this, your presence will be immediately known when you enter any enclosed space if you're not careful about the amount of sprays. In terms of the actual scent, it's very unique for a freshie. Lots of citrus, fruit, fruit juice, and ginger in this. The fruit might be from the combination of lavender and sea notes mixing together to give that effect. Perfect for the spring/summer, as it exudes an energetic vibrancy. As the name and notes might suggest, there is some oud or blended oud accord here but it's so dialed back as to be completely overwhelmed by the more attention-seeking notes like the ones aforementioned. What stands out in the background of this fragrance more so is the amber and mate. This is my only fragrance owned with mate listed in the notes, but I will definitely have to seek out more fragrances that utilize this material, because I'm a fan. Do not wear this to the gym! Although it is a "freshie" and has many ingredients one would assume would be in the typical "gym frag", this stuff is legitimately potent and built different. Although it is nice, your fellow gym-goers will thank you. Who: Men of all ages or women who enjoy unisex scents that lean heavily male. Where: Casual, day outings, casual dates When: Spring and summer especially, daytime especially.

Very pleasant fresh montale. Whitch we can rarely experience. It opens up with bunch of lemon and aquatic notes. Litle bit of oud in the bas. I wouldn't say I love it but it's definitely a like from me. 7.5/10

This is a nuke in liquid form. Woody. Aquatic. Citrusy. Oudy. Not mass appealing. This is for those guys that love aquatics but want a twist on the DNA. 3 sprays will fill the room. 7.78/10

A very masculine, fresh perfume.

A fresher Montale, appropriate for warmer weather, that combines Bergamot, Lemon and Sea Notes. It also includes heavier notes of Oud and Lavender, so spray moderately. It's very strong, especially during the first two hours. The Pink and Black Pepper accords are missing on this website. A bit synthetic, but still a nice freshie with the Montale DNA. Edit: it opens with a huge blast of Lavender, and not precisely the best one. It becomes better as it dries down.

Found this a very bland, standard freshie you get from a random luxury brand like Montblanc. Expected more from Montale on this one

Mostly a linear aquatic oud bomb that lasts about 10 hours. It's ok,

This is not a review for the scent, but rather the longevity and sillage. I accidentally dropped a tester on my floor and whilst trying to cleaning it up got some on my hand, well that was multiple hours ago. I’ve scrubbed, washed, oiled my hand over and over again to get the scent of me, without any luck. Wherever I go the entire room smells strongly of this perfume. I’m not sensitive at all but this has caused a headache that won’t go away. The tester only had a little in it, so I’m guessing I only got 2-3 sprays worth of perfume on my hand. I’d say this makes the longevity and sillage very good, maybe even a little too good! I’ve washed my hand 20+ times and it won’t budge :[] It took two days to get it off me, my floor still smells and my dog unfortunately got some on her. Two washes later and she still smells:/

I don’t know how to describe this it’s nice for sure but their is a But ! I feel like it’s missing something I don’t know how to describe it it doesn’t give me the wow effect I was looking for at the end of the day you get what you pay for ! it’s nice fresh slightly 1% aquatic I feel like If u ever go to Dubai or any middle eastern country and ask them for a summer oud they will give you 1000s of fragrances and oils that are similar to this one but it is really nice not in the same league with Arabians Tonka or Oud tobacco. Overall 7,5/10

A juicy wet berry figgy scent with dirty freshness. Missing notes pink berries and black pepper. There’s a synthetic note in here somewhere , other wise it Smells good. I bought a bottle.

Missed opportunity to call it Oudyssea if it’s an oudy aquatic.. js
