Montana 80

What a tongue in cheek creation by Antoine Lie! Imagine, if you will, a perfume created by a perfumer, that smells so wonderfully similar to a designer scent he released 6 years before. Different notes, different company, different price tags, but still that same great scent. Still, you haven't hit the punch line yet. You can't appreciate the full scope of the thing. Not until you smell the cheap, off brand, back-corner contender, completely out preform, in every way. I'll tell you, this kind of thing just makes my heart happy! Already disillusioned by Versace's lack-luster Crystal line, but still yearning for what Crystal Noir promised, I was joyous when I read this site's reviews of Montana 80. At an approachable price, I soon tested the hypothesis in my own home. Remarkable! Absolutely remarkable! There are so many things I love about this experience, let me settle myself and remain focused - linear. I've already said in the past that I get tremendous joy when an underdog outscores a pretentiously flaunted, superpower, designer fragrance. As if over inflated prices somehow enhance a dismal scent. The powers of dupe are strong with this one! That, however, will be the last comparison I'll make with this review. Because all Versace aside, this fragrance is truly special, and deserves to stand on its own, and be considered. The bottle is frankly an adorable nod to mid-century modern design which seemed in the eighties, to achieve brief popularity, before being replaced with harsh angular triangles and extreme lines. The bottle fits comfortably, with slight heft, and a mimicked '80' graphic. Its simple, which proclaims its virtue. The opening is surprisingly bright and herbal, with additions of bay and mandarin, making clean a canvas for other components. The heart lends to a new luminescence of white and creamy florals. Again, the idea of a clean soapy nature emerges without the use of harsh synthetics and aldehydes. Spicy Brazilian rosewood reawakens curiosity, as it should, because a magical thing begins to develop. Lactonic notes of milk mingle with sandalwood, and become this delicate, coconut note. Cedar and amber hum along, softened gently by Iris' song. It is heavenly, and serene, like pillowy clouds, casting shade in the mountain snow. Although it smells perfect for winter's twilight hours, or morning streaks of sun, it really yearns for warmth. Like the natural heat of skin under a cable knit sweater or exposed areas of flesh in front of a crackling fire. In those conditions, the sillage blooms silently, into a sweet, incensed trail. The final dry down is so pleasantly soft - whispers of all the notes become fuzzy chords of deep relaxation only true intimacy provides.

This one has indeed a Crystal noir vibe, and it actually resembles it a lot, but let me let you in a little secret: it is the gorgeous original version of the crystal noir edt -like very original formulation that it resembles,and it goes even a step further: it is gorgeous, ethereal, smokey-dusty delicious powderiness, that projects in swirling whiffs, that fills gently a room, that is enthralling and perfect and magical. And when I say 'powderiness' I do not mean the silly sickly baby powder kind of powderiness, but a classy, enchanting, gorgeous flower/makeup kind of powder... .It is very balanced, not too sweet, just barely enough, just as much as it is needed in combination with the white florals and the sandalwood to become an amazing conctortion, a potion that dazzles the senses and uplifts. It is a sophisticated soft white floral partly lotiony (first notes) perfume,but mostly powdery (middle and final notes -that last most and these parts are to die for!). This is what the gorgeous belle epoque ffrench ragrances and face powders smelled like... This lasts loooong, projects a lot but softly and elegantly, it makes its presence known, but not in the -in your face- way of most perfumes. It is airy, it is like a fragrant cloud around you, like a perfumed aura. So gorgeous, so pure, so intoxicating, it makes you close your eyes in bliss, smell deeper, makes you feel as if you are flying in the clouds... so uplifting and energising in a peaceful bliss kind of way. This one, is so well made, such a gem that has even surpassed the beloved by people crystal noir edp (current version) and the edt,that so many people rave about.It stands its own,and surpassed the famous Versace brand.There. I said it. I was so lucky to have managed to find a 4pcs set of this amazing inexpensive gem (the one with the 100ml perfume, 50ml perfumed body lotion +2 perfumed bracelets)...my only regret is that I didn't back up with at least another set.

This fragrance is not so much a pyramid of notes as it is a choreography. There are some notes that seem to dance in and out of the various phases of the dry-down process, while others make appearances only at certain times. To start, I get mandarin, rosewood and a blast of tuberose. As the heart emerges, I feel even more pronounced mandarin, along with iris, orange flower, and a tiny bit of petit grain, which gives the fragrance a zesty feeling. In this phase, the tuberose stays very subdued. The milk note begins to emerge at the very beginning of the base, and the tuberose makes a re-appearance as while sandalwood very quietly steps in. I also feel petit grain again at this point. The cedar and amber are not easily detectable, but I am guessing they are balancing the composition in the background. The base is undulating and delightful, with various notes re-emerging and then fading again. What a lively perfume!! It is right up my alley, and I definitely have some hippie in me! It feels cheerful and bright, yet earthy, and also a bit unpredictable. Similar in style to this fuzzy, hippie scent is Queen of Hearts by Queen Latifah, but that one is dominated by patchouli, whereas Montana 80 is not.

Marvellous perfume. I am suprised that a perfume which does not evem sell in perfume shops and never did, at least where I live, is this good. I do not see anything oriental about it. I would consider it floral woody. It smells very much of wood, which, considering the composition, is exactly what one would expect. And although I do not usually like woody scents, I love this one. It does smell of tuberose a lot after a while, which I love, reminding me of Oscar and Classique. Projection and lasting power are very very good, and the scent is heavenly. It also reminds me of Crystal Noir and of Nina (original, 1987). But from my viewpoint it is much better than Crystal Noir, better balanced and structured, as for the scent, and in the same league as original Nina. I think that Montana perfumes these days are produced and marketed by different companies and for that reason it is quite surprising the common hight quality they carry on showing. I consider parfum de peau, even the current reformulation, Montana Blu, Montana Homme, Montana parfum d'homme and this one amongst the best of the best.

Wearing this today for the third time from I bought this absolute stunning beauty, & it's a very warm & muggy type of day outside, & Wow is this perfume the perfect choice & this gorgeous perfume really shines!! I honestly absolutely adore this fragrance & keep getting the most beautiful wafts of it on myself as I move. This perfume is deffo all about pure milkyness & gentle creamyness as so many other's here have said, & I absolutely love Tuberose,Coconut,& Pure White Florals point blank!! This Perfume oozes 100% pure class & wears on my skin a good 14hrs!! I have also received SOoooooo many lovely compliments when I'm Wearing this,even my GP today said my Perfume was extremely nice as he was checking my blood Pressure!! I love the hyper chic heavy glass bottle it comes in, & the retro top which indeed makes the bottle look like the number 8 & the box the 0 making the number 80 when there placed together!! This is a sure winner for me & Deffo will be a repeat purchase!! I also want to try/Purchase VCN as I think I would also enjoy wearing it & having it in my large perfume collection!!

I was fortunate enough to be gifted a decent of this by Jaspersen (thanks) and have been besotted ever since. In raving about Montana to my dear friend Scorpiosheep, she asked why I hadn't done a review? Well, the answer is that although I love Montana 80, I don't really know how to describe it. On first spray, there is a most unusual take on citrus. Yes, i definitely get the mandarin orange accord, but it has taken me some time to undertsand that (on me anyway) it is sharp, verging on sour, almost like the smell of a mandarin that has almost gone off. Now, I know by this stage you would be thinking that's pretty gross. Who wants to smell like rotting citrus fruit? Yet the other notes, namely the rosewood, bay leaf and flowers seem to give this balance and complexity. I feel instant uphoria when in wear this. Just like golidlocks, it isn't too heavy, it isn't too light. It's just right. I never tire of the complexity and intrigue from the sweet/sour/woody combo and as an added bonus, it lasts 8-10hrs and more on clothing. 100% love. There you go Scorpiosheep.....just for you! XXX

This is an amazing fragrance! Just know, if you don't love tuberose and wood notes you probably won't enjoy it since they are prominent throughout. It is really rich & creamy with a lovely soft, powdery finish. It is quite strong for the first 20 minutes then settles to moderate sillage. Good longevity, since I get wafts of fragrance with movement for up to 6-8 hrs with 2 sprays on skin & clothing. For me, it is really good for use in all seasons except hot summer days when it is too rich and thick to feel comfortable to wear. I need to be in the right mood & setting to wear this or it can make me feel overly self-conscious. It's not office appropriate, it's too sexy for that setting. It gives a feeling of voluptuousness :) In comparison to Versace CN, I find Montana 80 smells like higher quality ingredients to the point of "no contest".

This is gorgeous! I agree with many of the reviews so far. It is VERY similar to Crystal Noir. At first spray I was like, “yep, coconutty yumminess!” Then a few seconds later it changed and the flowers became more prominent. In this stage it was a bit different to CN but still lovely. Then ten minutes later totally CN again! Will update later on longevity because I’ve only been wearing it half an hour. But if it last like everyone says it does then I’ll buy this over CN because it’s much cheaper! Very happy with my purchase and owe it completely to you wonderful people. :) Sorry to say people but I don't get the longevity that you do, which makes me very sad. I'm lucky to get 2 hours whereas I get about 5 from Crystal Noir. Still a lovely perfume though.

Like with many Montana's fragrances, this is a distinct, creative powerhouse. I was almost giddy when I sprayed it on, anxious for the milk, the bayleaf with the florals, and the rosewood opening. I was blasted away - but in a good way. It smells like everything I wanted it to and more. It is clearly oriental: flowers (gorgeous tuberose) with spicy additions (bayleaf->perfect! + a remaining something from the rosewood) and a base I think will be potent and stunning 10hrs after applying. Right now (1hr after applying) I "feel" milk and cedar more clearly. But actually it all blends so well that it is a refreshing (cedar+bayleaf), spicy (like aftereffects of eating toooo much ginger spicy) milky and woody scent. Perfect!

This is a subtle and a complex perfume. It starts out with a coconut smell like gorse blossoms in the sunshine. Then it goes through a Maroussia kind of sharpness. After an hour the whole thing settles into a very nicely balanced mix of soft woods and tuberose. I find the dry down comes about differently in different places on my body. Bewitching with sandalwood in crook of my arm. A bit heavier and sharper elsewhere. There is something retro about it. There is a very soft and gentle allusion to Dior original Poison. The bottle is lovely and just as striking yet subtle and unique as the juice. It is heavy clear glass, square in section with rounded shoulders and corners. The top echoes the effect. Class.

Wow!! Amazing!! I love VCN but i also love Montana 80. This is what i was expecting VCN to smell like the first time i smelled it. Montana 80 opens smelling exactly like VCN but with less pepper and with a beautiful creamy coconut. Anyone that was disappointed with Crystal Noir because they couldn't smell the coconut then you need to buy Montana 80. This is more sunscreen like. After the first 15 minutes there's barely any detectable difference to people who are not fragranticans ;) Montana 80 is a creamier, less sharp and smoother version of VCN. Yes it's soapy but also milky and woody. Very sexy fragrance!

First spray: this is it! This is *that perfume* from my childhood, the one that is always what I think of when I look back and remember ye olde days. It really isn't, I'm a lot older than Montana 80 is, but it is so close it's uncanny. Like Gucci Flora Gocce and Montale Intense Tiare were stepping stones to this point, both big white florals I enjoy but each lacking something that Montana 80 has. My housemate agrees, there is something very *familiar* about this, a scent memory we seem to share. I'll comment more on the actual perfume once I've played with it a bit ( I always say this lol,)

I tested a sample of Killian Voulez Vous Coucher Avec Moi and it made me chuckle. Voulez Vous is a watered down version of Montana 80. Voulez Vous is much more smooth. Probably smells more expensive. MONTANA 80 IS LIKE THIS. Both are yummy but I prefer this one! It’s the bay leaf and sandalwood for me. If you adore white florals and are willing to wait for the dry down (10-15 mins for me), this is a really fun blind buy. If you love Gucci Bloom but don’t want to smell so “mainstream”, I say give Montana 80 a try.

Chanel No 5 with a Burberry pencil skirt and a cream blazer that has pauldron-like shoulder pads that would make a Mad Max villain jealous. Can't wear it, but it's another fragrance that I had to try. This time, because I have a psychosexual, creepy obsession with the house of Montana. Happy to give it to my fiancée. Creamy floral powder with a woodiness that builds once the top calms down. Heavy hitter. Maybe not a masterpiece, but certainly an opus. Bottle is cool as hell too.

I bought this based off reviews here and I'm very glad I did. It smells similar to Crystal Noir EDT which I also own and wear when I'm going out. I would say this is the "day time, spring breeze, ice cream as I walk home from shopping in the country" version of CN. Cosy with the milk note coming through in the dry down. I'm getting good projection and longevity from 1 spray after 5 hours on my skin. I really like it, and keep smelling my wrist to get more.

Ok, I'm back to review properly. This is a fantastic perfume for the price. It does radiate on first spray but soon settles down to a modest bubble that just keeps going, over 9 hours and I can still catch it, not with my wrist pressed to my nose, but actual wafts of fragrance. The perfume itself is goddamn beautiful to me, it's a common floral notes pyramid but the milk and wood take the edge off the other notes and render everything creamy and velvety.

My absolute fave! Montana 80 blew me away the first time I got a whiff of it, and will always be my signature scent. Beautiful creamy and sweet fragrance, with lovely lovely tuberose and orange blossoms. I wear this to work, to dates and have always received compliments. Sometimes it gets mistaken for Versace's Crystal Noir, which is another great scent mind you. Would definitely recommend this as one of the perfumes to try if you haven't yet!

Montana 80 holds a special place in my heart as one of my all-time favorite fragrances. Its creamy, lactonic, and powdered profile is beautifully complemented by a soft woody dry down. This combination creates a very comfortable and wearable scent. It’s a real shame it was discontinued, as I find it superior to Christal Noir. For me, it embodies the perfect fragrance profile and remains my most cherished scent.

I love tuberose. I love Montana 80s because tuberose is the singular star. For this party, she has left her evil sisters, jasmine and gardenia at home, uninvited. This is the only perfume I NEED. I CRAVE this scent. Yes, it has the same creator as Crystal Noir. However, they are more of cousins, than sisters. Certainly not twins. It is as if Antoine Lie took CN and improved it ten times over.

Yummy, lush, milky and creamy Tuberose. That's what Montana 80 is in a nut shell. It's quickly becoming one of my favorites because it's so beautiful, it leaves a charming trail and it lasts for hours and hours. It can easily be mistaken for Versace Crystal Noir as they smell so much alike. Finally, It's not sold all over the place, so if you find it, go for it and you won't be disappointed.

I love LOVE Montana 80, and I almost want to say this could be a signature fragrance for me! The combination of sandalwood, milk, and tuberose is perfect! All together it has a nice sweet, woody and lactonic blend and it makes me feel elegant and sophisticated without coming off as an old lady. I truly thank my fiance for gifting me this for our anniversary <3.

Wow! Lashings of creamy tuberose, with those creamy notes wafting in and out as the parfum develops on the skin. This is gorgeous...now I know it's not neroli although there's orange there, because it reminds me so much of BV Knot, which is predominantly neroli. Anyway this is truly beautiful, big sillage and long lasting. 10 out of 10 from me.

Creamy & milky gardenia and tuberose with a little aromatic spice to lend some balance. Reminds me of a more floral-forward Oxygene by Lanvin. Works in warm or cool weather, super inviting. Not a major projector, but it's the kind of profile that works best with a moderate sillage.

Very similar to Crystal Noir as a lot of people have mentioned. True, CN has more depth and it’s more complex but on my skin, I can’t tell much of a difference. When layered together, it’s a powerhouse scent. 80 brings a little bit of extra sweetness to CN’s more spicy base.

Yes, for everyone saying this smells like Crystal Noir...... They were both created by the same perfumer!!!!!!!

Beautiful fragance!! It reminds me a lot of Versace Crystal Noir.

The key for liking Montana 80 is loving 1. tuberose 2. woods 3. lactonic texture in fragrances. Montana 80 is nice creamy/milky tuberose-woods combo, fresh and aromatic, great for summer. Yes, it is reinterpreration of the 80-ies, but in no way this fragrance is anachronic or outdated. The vibe of decade which glorified tuberose is constructed with care, subtly and smartly, and that makes Montana just "retro" in a good way. Milky woods are joined with creamy tuberose, and - as a perfect balance - aromatic mandarin and bay leafs (laurel) on the other side. Montana 80 has natural sweetness rounded with lactonic creaminess. Milk is there as a sort of presence which envelopes stronger notes (tuberose, woods, mandarine) and makes them milder, round and tender without changing them or "bluring" them. There is nothing heavy in this, and on me Montana 80 blooms and shows its best on the warm and hot weather. Feminine, but not girly. It is esspecially beautiful and capturing on breezy summer nights out in the open. A compliment getter. Subtle but with solid projection in first few hours, after that remains close to skin. Recomended for tuberose lovers looking for distinct jet subtle, affordable and very likable everyday fragrance, for lovers of light woody scents (lovers of tuberose/wood combo in Lutens "Cedre" and/or Guerlain's "Mahora", I'm kinda looking in your way...), and for lovers of creamy oriental roundness in search for summer fragrance without zesty citrusses, or generic beachy oversweet coconut/vanilla scents, or aquatics. *love *silage: moderate (arms lenght at least) *longevity: moderate (up to 6 hours, if generously applied) * weather/season/time: Possibly all year round. But I wear it only in warm conditions (tuberose on my skin likes warmth). Good performance in hot (+30 C) weather conditions. Day. Night. Casual to semi-formal.

I ́ve been wearing this on days when the weather can ́t make up its mind if it ́s spring or summer, so it rains, but it ́s also warm... Something about the humidity seems to go very well with this fragrance. I love the coconuty milky tuberose in here... and I don ́t even consider myself a coconut fan! When summer is at its hottest, I love to wear this as an evening fragrance, but it can also transition very nicely into an autumn day fragrance; in summary, I find it to be very wearable. Sometimes, I ́ve been layering it with Houbigant ́s Orangers en Fleur... mmm! Delicious! Actually, I ́m so enthralled by this combination, that I ́ve even been wearing it before bed, it feels so sexy and decadent, I could almost feel guilty, but I quickly remember life is short, so I spray on and just enjoy. Edit regarding temperature: This fragrance is best worn in weather under 85F. Anything higher than that, and although the composition is beautiful, the heat exposes Montana 80s could have been made with better quality ingredients. Even with the quality issue, this composition is still a strong Like for me.

First off, a big "Thank you!" to Waltzing Matilda for shipping the missing cap to my Montana 80 all the way from overseas. All while insisting on wanting absolutely nothing in return. Makes me want to pay it forward on here. Without the cap the bottle is not quite as charming. The first impression i got when i first sprayed this was a smooth tuberose wrapped with bitter orange peel. As if these 2 notes are competing with eachother for center stage. I do get the underlying original formula of Crystal Noir effect but there certainly are other differences. Has a pleasant powdery feel from the sandalwood and iris. The bay leaf is a nice touch too. Every other time i have used this beauty, the orange has not been as outstandingly bitter as the first, but more of a fresher orange peel. I get a slight hint of coconut right before the dry down. This is very fall/winter appropriate for me. Lasts for 8 hours and the lovely bottle has a good weight to it. I would recommend to those who love Bijan Black or are in search of a "former" Crystal Noir type of replacement.

I’m liking this sample more on its second try. The first time I loved the initial spray but was very disappointed as the lactonic note came through more and more as time progressed. This time it’s stayed more balanced, going through that same progression much more slowly. In the end it will still eventually come through too much and ruin it probably. That being said, I highly recommend this for anyone that can appreciate the lactonic note more than I do, this is such a cool scent. I love that the florals are very balanced, as in I can’t distinctly pick out specific flowers. I love that the bay leaf gives it a unique twist that really sets it apart from other white floral scents without “trying too hard to be different.” And I love how prominent the woody base is. As far as the crystal noir comparison I think it’s safe to say if you appreciate one, you’ll probably appreciate the other. But they are definitely not the same. Coconut vs. lactonic, and very different spices. These are not subtle differences. And it’s worth owning both if florals are your jam.

My sample arrived today. This smells almost exactly like Crystal Noir (the opening smells the same, drydown differs) on me but I didn't like that one but I like Montana 80. It's a milky white floral that has a woody base. I smell the bay leaf in the base. It's one of the types of perfumes I love. It doesn't open loudly on me like it does on other people but it's definitely extra long lasting with only 1 spray. M80 smells like a fun day at the beach. However this perfume can be worn day or night anytime of year. It's FB worthy for sure. I've got Diesel Plus Plus Feminine on the way which has been voted as similar so I'll update this review after testing it out. Montant 80 is clean smelling and inoffensive. I love it. Scent: 9/10 No, Diesel Plus Plus Feminine doesn't really smell like Montana 80 to me. They do have similar beachy "vibes" though. Neither does Tuberosa Miller Harris (I actually can't smell this one, maybe I'm anosmic). -

Montana 80..I love you just with your style points. I opened up my Montana80 box and its a retro glass bottle 3.4oz thats as thick as a BRICK! You seriously could knock someone out with this thing in a lovers quarrel in the boudoir. Its way too heavy to put in a purse. I cant believe no one has mentioned this before. Stylistic 80s graphics make this retro fun. Its a surprising clean milky type tuberose .The coconut layer is there with the milky nuance. The rosewood, cedar and bay leaf adding some woody aromatic facets to this adventure. Its quirky, and offbeat. Awesome for summer, not heavy at all. More I wear it, more I like it. Just a kick in the pants for tuberose lovers. Im going to layer this with Tom Ford Voile De Fleurs to soften up that spicy base it has...It also shines in the fall. Soft and super, lasts forever.

It’s like Versace Crystal Noir and Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude had a baby. And a cute little baby at that! The opening and for about 3 hours it’s VCN then it turns more powdery into SN. I’m actually wearing Montana 80 on 1 wrist and VCN on the other and I can say that they are almost identical. Montana is a pinch more sandalwood (which turns more powdery after about 3 hrs) and VCN is just a tiny bit more leafy. But we are talking like a millimeter of difference here. They are really so similar that you could say you’re wearing one or the other and no one would know the difference. This is my grab and go fragrance. It’s just nice, fresh, and powdery.

I kissed a friend today as we greeted. Her response: A deep inhalation and big smile as she uttered "Mmmm...sandalwood." I had sprayed my neck and wrists approximately 3 hours prior. It seems Montana 80 has something for everyone, it opens in gourmand fashion with coconut and sweet hefty lactonic tuberose, but the heart and dry down are more woods. In case you are wondering about an age group for this (I don ́t think fragrance has an age, but some do,) my friend is in her early 30s, I am in my mid-40s, and we both really enjoy Montana 80. This is my update. You ́ll find my review below.

Montana 80, I swoon so hard for you! You are like the creamiest, most beautiful tuberose SOAP and I don't even usually like soapy scents. This tuberose is so clean, so fresh. As much as I love the filthy, carnal tuberoses I am beyond impressed by this take on a note I thought I knew so well. In addition, the woody notes here are very present and I do love woody notes. Creamy sandalwood blended with rosewood, milk and pink pepper (not listed, but very present). The most unique thing about Montana 80 is the strong presence of bay leaf. It adds an aromatic, unisex touch.

GREAT Spring creamy-floral scent. Tuberose and Orange Blossom are the strong players on this 80s team with smooth woody notes as their reinforcements. A bright 68-degrees day, going to lunch with my bestie wearing a pastel pink tunic, white leggings, crisp white pumpkin seeds and a high ponytail type fragrance.

I am so torn on this perfume. It smells AMAZING but disappears on my skin after two hours (max). Doesn't even cling onto my clothing or hair.... but it smells so damn yummy. I guess since it is pretty inexpensive it would be worth picking up, just know you'll have to take it along with you to reapply.

A very close dupe to VCN, as everyone else has said, just a bit creamier and softer.

Montana 80 is a very sweet perfume to my nose. Unexpectedly so. From the note profile I wasn't prepared for that, to me the prominent notes are definitely amber and orange flower, there is something "milky" about this as well. I like this fragrance, however there is something powdery about it that reminds me of the smell of "play perfume and makeup" from my childhood. Light sillage and longevity for me is about 4-5 hours. I got the 3 piece set as well. April 2023 As I get to know this fragrance it's light, sweet airiness is enchanting. I'm liking it!

Too much milk in this for my taste...Overall too soapy of a scent for me.

I love that this is strong. One or two sprays and it lasts all day. It's beautiful and cool, smooth tuberose and wood more than anything else (for me). I get a little bit of the coconut vibe but perhaps less than others experience. That's not a bad thing, just a little different from what I expected. Fortunately, I love woody fragrances, and as such, I find it to be unisex. Very nice! *** 4 years later I changed my mind about this fragrance. All of my early descriptions remain. All first impressions were true, but that bay leaf turned out to be far too aggressive on my skin. It never settles down, not sweetened or softened by amber or milk, instead, oddly amplified and merged with wood notes to where there is no floral. The result is a very masculine, very strong aftershave. Potent and unrelenting. What I initially found unisex has veered too far one way for me to enjoy wearing. It is clean and cool, and I would appreciate it in passing if I smelled it on someone else, especially a man. Let me add that it isn't even that it's too masculine or smells masculine, it's that there is something too close to menthol (that feeling). It's just strong, sharp, cold and mean. Just the way I cannot stand cherry blossom, not because it stinks but because it's overstimulating.

I cant get over how this fragrance was so cheap! Creamy tuberose and a bit of soap. Yes, as a trained "nose" I can detect the notes that bear a resemblance to Crystal Noir but thats as far as it goes. Montana 80 does not have as strong woody notes. I like tuberose but it scares me a bit with its potential shrillness and power. Madonnas Truth or Dare for me is getting a bit too close to the shrillness of tuberose. This definitely wouldnt scare anyone. The sillage is moderate and it lasted about 6 hours on me so not bad at all. A perfume batting well above its weight. It is pleasant but I dont like the milk note at all and much prefer Crystal Noir.

everytime i smell tuberose pure oil i always get coconut smell, and finally this perfume proves me right...the coconut from the tube rose is very promint on the top notes for the first few minutes, leaving a faint base for all the spices to sit on and removing all the sweetness of the tube rose...the base is sour i think because of the mixture between clemantine and milk.....this perfume is not gourmet at all even after all those notes...its very complex perfume, and like someone said here before that it is similar to crystal noir

Smells exactly like Versace Crystal Noir at first spray. Then it settles down into an overbearing, heady tuberose with sawdust. I find it a bit choking. I much prefer Crystal Noir's cold, salty characteristics to the sawdust I find in Montale 80. My father managed a lumber yard when I was a child and the smell of sweet sawdust was sickening in the summer months.

I think I have problem with gardenia - sandal wood - milk combo.... I just can't tolerate this.... It's awful to me. The same situation with Oxygene... Can't image to ware these two. I have full bottles so if some wants this and/or Oxygene massage me... I'm UK based

My husband bought me this for my blind Christmas scent last year ( a lovely tradition where I get to pick a perfume I've never sniffed before!). I knew from the description that it would be nice ( c'mon : it's tuberose and MILK) but I had no idea it would become my HG - amongst a wardrobe of over 100 perfumes. This is a truly perfect scent - sweet, warm, woody, fruity and milky clean. It verges on the almost tropical and unusual but it's not out there or trying too hard. It also smells great from first blast to final breath and has no blasted musk to ruin it. It really blooms on the skin and has been responsible for the most number of random compliments I've ever received. Nearly every time I wear this, I get a tap from someone ( male and female, young and old) saying how beautiful I smell including one memorable occasion when an elderly man followed me on to the top deck of a bus to ask what perfume I was wearing! This has never happened to me when wearing any other perfume! I can definitely smell the resemblance to crystal noir but montana 80 is (to me) far superior ; not harsh or strident in any way. It's just creamier and blended deliciously. As a result : I've since bought 3 further bottles ( still relatively inexpensive !!!) as it's getting harder to find and I find I'm drawn to this on a daily basis. It's just that good and I am so happy to have found my signature scent. Long may it be available. If you get a chance to try it - do! All perfumes that I've tried from Montana ( Just me and elle) have been exceptional but this is the one for me.

Reminds me ALOT of Sensuous Nude, both smell to me like pencils when I sharpen them, esp the ones who have a strong smell. Sensuous Nude being heavier I think. Yes it does smell alot like the original Noir, to me this smells more like perfume more complex, Crystal Noir always reminded me of tanning oil and didnt change on me at all. Its very much identical to Sensuous Nude tho, i smell both right now, this is softer no harsh notes or powder in your face unlike with Estee Lauder's. I had also gifted Sensuous Nude to my mom and she liked it and used it up, but honestly sometimes in the heat it was too much and annoyed me when i smelled it on her or when I wore it myself (one of those you smell and then feel like you have the taste in your mouth lol). Montana is what Sensuous Nude should be to win a place in my heart, cuz i had loved its vibe, but something about it turned me off. Montana is also a loud perfume can be overwhelming, but I don't mind. Ill keep it and wear mainly in cold weather as I need one of this kind in my collection. It is less aggressive than Sensuous Nude, same family, more well-behaved - ppl around you will be pleased not bothered.

This is pure Joy in a bottle . That’s what I feel when I wear it . I received it as a gift , not knowing anything about it at all . On my first time of wearing it , it was a hot day in a Forest and as my skin heated it got even more beautiful. At the time I kept asking my friends “ who is wearing that beautiful perfume ?” But it was my own ! The two sprays in the morning lasted till night time and my clothes still smelled of it the next day . I think it’s something you have to smell to appreciate it , as the notes could conjure up a less impressive scent , to call it milky or almondy would do it an injustice . It’s not obviously a perfume smell , its an aura of something that you can’t quite put your finger on , like body lotion , fresh smelling hair , freshly washed clothes in a nurturing and gently sweet yet classy way It’s very unique , quite the hidden gem I was lucky to stumble on Sometimes I spend ages at perfume counters searching for something that is a little different that speaks to me and that’s hard to find these days , and this is what I was hoping to find I now consider it a favourite

I got Montana 80 because of my love/hate-relationship with Crystal Noir. Allow me to explain: Crystal Noir can be absolutely wonderful but it's not a given. I have no clue why that perfume sometimes work and sometimes doesn't. I think it has to do something with temperature (cold weather is better) but I am not sure. The problem is that Crystal Noir sometimes just doesn't develop from the top notes and I want to get the whole story! So I got Montana 80. Maybe this would give me the "full story" I was craving? Well, it sure is lighter than Crystal Noir and I kind of like that. I would be more comfortable wearing Montana 80 to work for example. I don't know what I was hoping for this. More creamy maybe? I don't know. If you a like me that love Crystal Noir, but it's not a steady relationship, and is thinking about trying Montana 80 in hopes it will give you something that Crystal Noir doesn't; don't bother. Honestly. I don't regret getting this perfume! Not at all! But it's a Crystal Noir light:)

When I looked at the notes for Montana 80 by Montana I knew I would like it and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was voted as similar to Versace’s Crystal Noir – which I have and love. I was lucky enough to get Montana 80 from such a generous fragrantican in a swap and I LOVE it! With Crystal Noir I get more of a spicy licorice sandalwood, but in Montana 80 I get that grape-y white floral top note from the tuberose which I really like – definitely a white floral lover – and it has a very sweet sandalwood dry down that is very similar to that of Crystal Noirs. Another sandalwood I could compare it too is Armani Mania for women because that was the first fragrance that came to mind when I smelled this, but it has a more citrusy opening. I had not smelled this prior to swapping, but it is fabulous and I really like the Mod 60’s look of the bottle!
