Homme Exceptionnel

Ok, my two cents on - Exceptionnel by Mont Blanc!! I would start by saying this fragrance is 'exceptionnel/exceptional sophistication personified (non-human)'. This is an extremely sophisticated fragrance that can be worn by anyone who wants a subtle mystic fragrance oozing out of their respective bodies.... Many have complaint about its longevity, however, I have not faced this problem it's been 6+ hrs and still going good on me. You have to understand that perfumes with aromatic characteristics will not be evident to you that much, as they would be to others; I may not be able to smell the fragrance too hard on me, but somehow others are able smell on me from a distance; i.e. this frag has similar aromatic characteristics such as 'D&G The One'. My suggestion would be spay two times on your shirt and you will find a remarkable improvement in the longevity. :) Now getting back to the the fragrance of this EDT. Let me tell you that you will be able to observe/witness/smell/whiff transition of notes in a prominent way, I think way to prominent. The opening is similar to somewhat 'CK Euphoria Intense and Paco Rabanne 1 Million' but in a more sophisticated/slight boozier manner not too sweet. After 20-30 minutes you can feel the similarity with the dry down of 'Lacoste Red/Style in Play', however slightly sweeter and more elegant. The dry down is way too sophisticated to be termed as Black XS or 1 Million, it is no way similar to these two. The dry-down gives me a slight feel of 'D&G The One' (only in character), but slightly more musky-lavenderish-ginger-coffee and not at all overly sweet but very sophisticated. For me the transitioning of notes is magical and sophistication of the juice mesmerizes me!! Longevity is no issue - you may have to take close whiffs of the fragrance; however, others can smell it on you. I will definitely recommend it!

A very classy, very masculine, yet light blend of salty mandarin, amber, patchouli, and woods. I don't pick up much (if any) coffee in this, but I'd almost swear that there's cedar in there. The mandarin top notes are smooth and bright and sweet and salty. The scent doesn't evolve much, but I'm totally okay with that! Longevity is perfect and it will just barely last through an entire work day. This is my new favorite work scent alongside Versace Pour Homme, Bleu De Channel, and Dior Homme Cologne and I could easily see this being someone's go-to signature scent. It's very versatile, and just as fitting for a date as it is for the office. I've received some of my most enthusiastic compliments on this scent, including a couple girls introducing themselves to me, just so they could ask for a closer sniff of what I was wearing. I totally agree with the reviewer below me, this IS similar to Aventus, but with mandarin instead of the pineapple/lemon, and no smoky birch, black current, or vanilla. This is a mandarin version of what I THOUGHT Aventus would smell like before I smelled it. It's reminiscent of Aventus, but more wearable, cheerful, approachable, and overall more versatile than Aventus. It's a people pleaser, with that same smoky-citrus-patchouli vibe. If you like fruity batches of Aventus, you will likely enjoy this as well! Aside from Sauvage, this is the only thing in my wardrobe that blends into the dry down of Aventus or Club De Nuit Intense. If I wore Aventus/CDNI the night before, I'll be wearing Exceptionnel to work the next day. This is definitely one I'll use and repurchase, unless I find something better, which I'll be hard pressed to do. For $20, this is a STEAL. It definitely smells like it's worth much more! I can't recommend this one enough. It's in my top 5 for a very good reason!

The real “spice” bomb. It doesn’t smell anything like Viktor Rolf Spicebomb but that is to me sweet with spice and not a bomb of spice. Exceptionnel is a spicy orange bomb. When I first got it the opening was so spicy and a synthetic mix of all the notes clashing I gave it to my cousin. I’m glad he was playing madden online cause after a while it dried down and smelled very good in a mature gentlemen way. And the Sillage is great. He didn’t get to smell for playing madden so I took it back before he smelled it. This is not for younger men imo this is for a mature youngster for sure but to me it’s 30 and up. Spicy orange amber coffee bomb. Casual fragrance 2-3 sprays good for work etc...performance is very good even good enough for a club or bar dressed casual/mature. Perfect mr. serious mysterious Bruce Wayne frag the ladies won’t know where or how to place it because nothing smells like it.yet the Sillage will get their attention. Not a masterpiece but still very good for what it is. Gets the job done and you can’t beat the price Mature,classy elegant serious and mysterious casual gentleman frag for 20 bucks that lasts forever with good Sillage and nice projection Negatives are the overly spicy opening to mid and the notes clash at first making it smell super spicy and synthetic Season/winter

I haven’t smelled the dunhill or Tommy Bahama scents referenced above in the “smells like” category, but I have smelled michael kors, and I think it’s a fair comparison. I had michael kors for several years and really liked it. Very unique, but I felt like it was a little too unwearable at times. Exceptionnel definitely has some similarities with Michael kors, though i feel this is infinitely more wearable. This smells like what we’d hoped mugler would’ve released as an a-men flanker. The most prominent notes to me are orange, coffee and amber - which comes across as a bit of a dirty orange - almost a chocolate orange. To say this is overlooked is quite the understatement. Hard to believe that the aventus clone - and the joop clone are the scents that make the news - meanwhile, this is clearly head and shoulders above other releases from montblanc - and it’s original! While I wouldn’t travel across state lines to get this, I would certainly say that this is the montblanc to own out of their entire catalogue. Seems like this would be best worn in cool weather - but you can do whatever you want. Really solid release that’s not too expensive yet. Go ahead and buy it before it becomes wildly overpriced due to discontinuation. I paid $70 for mine from eBay. Solid 7/10

Exceptionnel is in my opinion one of, if not, THE BEST fragrance that Montblanc has put on the market. A very nice masculine woody-aromatic scent, very unique and different from today's stuff. My love towards it resides in the contrast between the freshness of the mandarin and ginger and the warmness of the coffee and amber...such a beautiful composition. It's one of those scents where you can smell every ingredient in it. Has moderate sillage, very good longevity. and it's a compliment getter from women and men. Such under the radar and underrated as many say. I remember my first encounter with it was back in 2009, when my dad bought it (there were so many bottles available in that time :( ). Back then I really liked it (and I still do) but it wasn't a fragrance I could pull off, since I was 18 years old at the time...10 years later my mind has changed and it is now something I would definitively wear. It's such a shame (but at the same time maybe a good thing) that it's discontinued. And I say a good thing because if it was still in the market today it would be reformulated and watered down. My dad and I share a 75ml bottle which is half full, but's getting harder nowadays finding one. One of the best designer releases from 2008. To me it's a 10/10

Mont Blanc Exceptionnel is very good. as others have mentioned, top notes are mandarin citrus and warm coffee and hints of lavender which dries down to a nice dark coffee with musk and amber. I could not really differentiate any of the middle notes mentioned. This is in the same axis as Dirty English, Dsquared potion, or Dunhill Pursuit but with Coffee and amber taking centerstage instead of Oud, Incense and leather. This makes Exceptionnel more sweet and less smoky than the others, making it a more comfortable fragrance. It is still more a formal fragrance than casual in my opinion. if not full tuxedo, at least a sports blazer and tie. Cant see myself wearing this to the beach!! Longevity and projection on this are on the soft side which means if you are habitually a 2 sprays guy, you wont get much Projection out of this. I get about 6-7 hours with 6 sprays and I can smell it on me faintly for a bit longer. Mont Blanc Exceptionnel is a rich, classy warm fragrance with hints of sweetness. Wonderful stuff. I love it. 8.5/10 Edit- As the weather gets colder, this shines more and more. Just covers you in a masculine aura that is warm and cozy with the mandarin citrus adding that little bit to freshness. I find myself reaching for this very often.

Wow. A fantastic and exotic combination of Citrus, Spices and Woody and sweet twist! Exceptionnel is Dark,Ellegant, Powerful, deep and smells sucess!! Smells a man who wants be exceptionnal! A very solidy and pleaseant fragrance! A liitle but mature but if you are young and has a strong personality, it mays fit very well! It remminds me a lot Terre de Hermès EDP. Good sillage and 6 hrs of lasting on my skin. Unfortunatelly is very synthetic! It's a good suggestion for any day season but I don't recommend it for very hot summer days! --------------------------------------------------------- WOW. Uma fantastica e exotica combinação de citrico, especiarias com um toque doce e amadeirado! Exceptionnel é sombrio, elegante, poderoso, denso e cheira a sucesso! Cheira a homem que quer ser excepcional! Uma frangrancia solida e agradavel. Um pouco maduro mas se você é jovem e tem uma personalidade force, ele pode ser uma otima opção! Me lembra muito Terre de Hermès EDP. Boa projeção e 6 hrs de fixação na minha pele. Infelizmente é muito sintetico. Ótima sugestão para qualquer dia, mas Eu não recomendo para dia de verão muito quente.

This is the scent of home... Not MY home, but A home. Comforting and calming, while invigorating and refreshing at the same time. It captures everything a home is supposed to be like. And place where you can feel secure and happy. It evokes a peaceful atmosphere where contentment resides. But underlying beneath the opening, is a darker more playful nature... a mysterious and unknown factor at work. Something deeper and undeniable. Something, desirable and delicious. It leaves a bittersweet tone lingering after the initial first impression. Must be the Coffee and Amber, subtlety joining together to form a seductive aroma. And once the scent has reached its climax, and the opening fades away... The drydown comes in and silently finishes the process. Creating a smooth and masculine atmosphere. The longevity is quite remarkable, lasting all day on my clothes and skin. The sillage is great too, projecting comfortably outside of my personal space. The ladies love it (; Indeed it is a unique scent. Original and definitely worth the price. Which is unbelievably cheap for the quality it is. Highly recommend. Overall rating: 8.9/10

Quite opposite to most reviews below, I haven't noticed poor longetivity when my husband wears Exceptionnel. I agree, the silage is impressive for the first 2 hours and then it gradually dies, nevertheless I can still sense whiffs on my husband's skin every now and then. I consider this fragrance strong on woody notes, extremely masculine and elegant with just a tiny echo of Elixir Des Merveilles, my favourite woody marvel. Exceptionnel suits my husband best when he wears white, smart, short sleeved shirt, elegant trousers and black leather mocassins. When he puts his sexy sunglasses on and sprays his neck and chest with Exceptionnel - I feel I am melting. I also feel really proud when I walk with him and I get whiffs of Exceptionnel; a noble fragrance that gives my hubbie more confidence and boosts his self esteem. Eeven though I am in minority here - I strongly recommend Exceptionnel and can't fault this fragrance in any aspect of either lasting power or silage.

I'm on my second bottle of this beauty and I LOVE it!! I'm not particularly good at picking out notes of fragrances... but this one is flamboyant and straight forward in the best way! I smell exactly as listed above! A blast of coffee, bright juicy orange, and lavender. HEAVENLY COMBO!! So masculine and powerful!! This is the complete opposite of generic! Smells like quality and expensive! Dark & daring but as I mentioned...still very straight forward and unapologetic. The sillage is great! I would say about 5 feet. Longevity...average. I get 4.5 or so hours of this...give or take an hour depending on how heavy-handedly I spray it. Overall Rating : 9/10 Now I've GOT to get my hands on what everyone is talking about! Mont Blanc - Legend! But this one is amazing! Try it if you have not guys! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Fantastic, underrated juice! One of my cold weather favorites, although I think it can be worn anytime of year. Sillage and projection is enough to be noticed but not offend. Longevity is enough to last throughout the entire work day or evening out. The bottle is tasteful and artfully presented and the color of the juice perfectly matches the scent. It starts out with a well balanced blast of orange, coffee, and amber. After about 15-20 minutes it dries down into a beautiful soft and creamy but still undeniably masculine, woody-like blend of patchouli, ginger, coffee, and amber with a slight minty freshness. This fragrance smells much more expensive than it is and will definitely draw compliments and make you feel very confident. Pick some up, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend this one!

the best perfume i've bought recently! i just love it. it is a textbook oriental scent that takes me back to saudi arabia wow i blind bought it with no regrets yes sir!!! now here's me quick review: 1. dont have high expectations about projection because this one is not a projection monster but surely people will notice you for it. 2. the smell is nothing short of phenomenal (read in irish accent) ok so here's the breakdown: smell: 10/10 projection: 5/10 longevity: 1-2 hours this one is definitely a skin scent. Buy only in the case if you dont mind smelling your frag and spraying every couple of minutes because that's what i normally do with weak fragrances. UPDATE: after a while of smelling it now I can detect synthetic sage which reminds me of our traditional green tea/mint and sage :)

Mont Blanc Exceptionnel is right on the line between being Woody Spicy and Woody Aromatic, which is exactly what I've been looking for. This scent can be sharp and deep. It starts out peppery gingery spicy but never get too out of hand; thanks to the fresh juicy orange and strong aromatic lavender (I also get cedar'ish note here). I can pick up a nice coffee accord that has this espresso smoothness with the slight bitter quality of coffee that I love. It's opulent and never changes around much on my skin, but it does get a little sweet musky woody at the end; very nice. Overall, its a thumb up for me. It's a bit for older crowd but I can see any man could wear it without a doubt. Great for special moment. I see myself wear it quite often now as the weather gets colder.

This has got to be my all time favorite (for daily use) of my husband's small collection of fragrances. It is utterly exceptional in every way. The opening is very fresh and sharp, and the transition through stages is delightful. I especially love the dry down on his skin. This one has good staying power. I've had to tell him to back off on the sprays because it can be overwhelming to me. He says he cannot smell it, but I sure can. So, I guess that means the sillage is good. I'm not so up to speed on all the terminology. This frag just makes me want to snuggle up and be close to him when he wears it. I cannot get enough. As a side note, it also works really well with my skin chemistry, though it smells completely different....more aromatic on my skin.

Nice classy fragrance! This is the kind of fragrance you have once you have grown up (in a good way; you have a nice office job, a nice car, married and thinking about having kids) It starts with an Ambery, orangy coffee notes. Very nice! Then, the mint and some flower linger in the background. At the end, it ends with the amber and the coffee notes with the darkness of the patchouli. It has a moderate longevity 6hrs, Versatile in colder times especially at night. Can be worn in office, casual and dates! This fragrance doesn't scream attention, it a little bit soft, I know many people who enjoyed this scent if it project more. so I give it a 7/10. Recommended!

Homme Exceptional Mont Blanc was my favourite fragrance. It is discontinued now. It was woody aromatic fragrance, opening with citrus (orange) then comes ginger, mint (may be light note of coffee) and at the end musk, amber & patchouli make the base notes. I couldn't find it's alternative, clone or impressions from anywhere. Tried many perfumes like D&G The One, Dior Homme EDT (2020), Sauvage, Bleu de Chanel, YSL La Nuit, Versace EROS, YSL Y etc etc. But couldn't find it's alternative. Dior Homme EDT (2020) was somehow close in opening. Can anyone suggest it's effective alternative.

I was fortunate enough to find 2 1.7oz bottles for $30, right before the prices skyrocketed! This is one of my favorite frags of all time, though I can only find a few occasions to wear it. Mainly I wear it on cool rainy days, like today. For me it projects for a couple of hours then becomes a moderate skin scent and lasts all day. I'm no expert at picking out individual notes, but I can tell you that it has a warm orange amber coffee thing going for it. Unfortunately it has been discontinued and the prices they are asking now are too high for me to recommend to a first time buyer.

This cologne is absolutely remarkable in every way. For about 100 dollars you can get a 100ml bottle, and it is the best money you will ever spend in your life. When I wear this cologne, I can't stop smelling myself. It is my favorite scent by far. I use it whenever I am dressed really nicely, and to me the scent is synonymous with good taste, high culture, and sophistication. I would comfortably say that this is the best scent that I have ever owned, and that says a lot. A+, Mont Blanc has really outdone themselves this time.

very interesting scent, the top smells like cold coffee, and as the scent gets into the middle notes,it progresses into of warm coffee, with a hint of chocolate as you approach the Dry down. I can see this being a great office scent ..Plus the bottle is absolutely gorgeous, ,really starting to like the Mont blanc range. .no longevity problems here ,a solid 12 Hours .. allso theres a dried orange peel smell that sort of stays throughout its duration, this note will be the make or break for you,,personally I love it .

Great fragrance. Its like a replica of Macho by Diane Pauline, Tommy Bahama pour homme, Black Walnut by BR & Gucci Pour Homme (they all are like twins). Except theres a great combo of coffee and it lasts longer and projection is better than the others, Black Walnut another amazing alike this one, Gucci pour homme comes 2nd as my fav from these 5! A great buy. Its hard to choose a fav from these similars. I guess I shouldnt feel that bad that Gucci Pour Homme is discontinued anymore since I have this to seek :)
