A sweet clean scent that lets a well-mannered young man show a little sensuality Montblanc Individuel is, to me, a men’s fragrance with a very distinctive kind of sweet cleanliness. At first, I get a raspberry-like sweetness and a soft, laundry-like clean feeling. However, it is not simply fruity or cute. There is something masculine and well-groomed about it. It is sweet, but not careless or sloppy; it feels like the sweetness of someone who takes care of his appearance. As it dries down, the soapy, fabric-softener-like cleanliness and the soft musk become more noticeable. This is not a fragrance that tries to dominate the room. Rather, it gives the impression of someone who feels reassuring when he is close, someone who is properly clean and well put together. On a man, Individuel feels friendly, gentle, and approachable. It does not suggest a perfect gentleman so much as a slightly shy young man who cannot quite hide the fact that he wants to be liked. There is something pure and endearing about it. Because of its sweetness, I think it suits a man who is intelligent, steady, and a little soft rather than someone too cold or aloof. It feels especially fitting for a man who has a gentle, well-mannered image but wants to show just a little masculinity and closeness. In my personal impression, this fragrance may be especially appealing to people who like the kind of East Asian masculine image often seen in Korea, Japan, or Taiwan: androgynous, reserved, clean, intelligent, and understated. It is not too loud, so it feels relatively safe to wear in humid climates. In drier countries, however, one spray might feel a little too soft or fleeting. To be a little critical, Individuel is somewhat calculated in its charm. It is not only likable; it also creates a subtle sense of intimacy. But that calculated quality is not unpleasant. It feels more like a fragrance that gently encourages a shy man when he wants to approach someone. On the other hand, I do not think it is the best match for a very flashy, aggressively masculine, or strongly outdoorsy type of man. If someone wants to project a more athletic, rugged, or openly seductive image, this fragrance may feel too light. On a woman, it becomes slightly unisex, like a clean white shirt. However, because of the sweet musk and raspberry, it can become a little too fabric-softener-like if oversprayed. I think it works best when used sparingly. I would wear this in spring, autumn, or on cool evenings. It may feel a bit sweet in the middle of summer, but for someone who enjoys clean sweetness, it is very easy to wear. For me, Individuel is not a fragrance of bold sexuality. It is more like “a sweet, clean, good young man quietly trying to seduce you.” It does not have overwhelming sex appeal, but it does make you feel as if you might allow someone to come a little closer. After mowing through 2 full bottles of this stuff within the last year, with a 3rd one on the way, I can safely say that this is my favorite scent. I love it. It checks all of the boxes: -It's unique, yet comforting. Raspberry, pineapple, dark chocolate, cinnamon, and vanilla notes make an appearance, yet none are overpowering. -It works very well with my skin chemistry regardless of season. -It's somehow fresh without going the usual citrus/aquatic route. I seriously dig the synthetic fresh linen smell in the opening. -The longevity is perfect - about 7 to 8 hours. It lasts most of a workday but doesn't get into obnoxious territory. -Speaking of work... this is a fragrance that won't get you sent to HR. I find it impossible to overspray. -The price is right. $20-25 for a full bottle? Ok, there you go. -High compliment factor. My wife loves it. Friends have randomly told me I smell good. I've even gotten 3 or 4 compliments from total strangers - something that has never happened before. -For what it's worth, even the bottle design is awesome. Solid atomizer, too. And as far as the Joop comparisons go... this ain't Joop. I'm not a Joop hater, but that's like comparing Sunny D to actual orange juice. Yeah, they have a couple similarities, but once you get past the superficials, you'll see it's not even close. In conclusion, my only complaint about Individuel is that it doesn't come in a larger bottle. I would buy a Gatorade cooler full of this stuff if Montblanc sold it as such.

This is my dumb reach for fall, thought it would be also great during winter and early spring as well. It would be too cloying for the summer. It's highly synthetic yet smells beautiful. Sharp frozen raspberries, or cold, breezy raspberry drier sheet - if I had to describe it, and dries down as a powdery smell. It pops up every now and then and surprises you when you catch a whiff hours after applying it. That's the phase I love the most. It's very easy to overspray, but only two-three sprays max is enough, more than that and you might get a headache. I own around 6 bottles of this and always looking for more in case this gets discontinued. In terms of audience, I think it's good for any age group. Suited up or dressed down casual. Night out in the town, fancy dressed up dinner, weddings..all good. INCREDIBLY versatile. I would suggest going easy on the sprayer and not judging the cologne based on the synthetic, headache-inducing rubbing alcohol type of opening. Wait until the smell develops. On skin it's great, on clothes it lingers for days. Based on the reviews here it seems like this is a polarizing scent..you either love it or hate it..so try first I guess. This was a blind buy for me, but was totally worth it. This and Mont Black Starwalker..instant like. Scent - 9 Longevity - 8 Sillage - 7 Value - 9

As others have stated, you get a very delicate body of slightly synthetic fabric softener with that fruity, powdery and fresh accord - but that's not a bad thing! I actually find it to work in it's favour and it surprised me with how enjoyable the mellow fruity aroma is for an older fragrance. I'd even say that the raspberry in this fragrance holds up incredibly well in this era of syrupy fruit-salad gourmands, and isn't nearly an offensive or cloying berry smell. Granted, it doesn't have the longevity or performance of a modern gourmand (and I wish they did an EDP just so I could smell it for longer) but it does have an moderate performance for an EDT that's a jack-of-all-trades and costs only £25 for 75ml! Individuel is timeless, you may be able to discern it as an early-ish Y2K style of cologne due to it's strangeness when compared to the shower-gels, the spice-bombs, the gourmands - but it stands on its own as something reliable and suitable for most occasions; it's laid back, maybe a little playful, comforting and definitely an easy dumb reach. In the line-up of Montblanc fragrances that all bark in different tones, this is an ole reliable that sings and is something every collector should have in their collection, just purely for it's versatility and value.

A little bit of bergamot that is immediately pushed aside by a quick pop of lavender and cinnamon in the early open, which is then backed by a spicy, ginny cool mint and subtle fruit; I don't so much get pineapple in that open though, I get a hint of the raspberry trying to barrel in from the base. As the spice subsidies the florals start to come through in the heart, primarily jasmine and orange blossom for me; that cool sensation continues on from the open as the mint hangs with me. Into the base I get creamy sandalwood, vanilla, and raspberry coming together to make a cranachan dessert, which takes on an almost musky bitterness as an accent. Patchouli, vetiver, and oakmoss are three of my favorite notes and while they are definitely detectable, I can't pick them out distinctly in the dry down underneath the gourmand; they instead come across as blended background greenery and it isn't until much later in the dry down the patchouli and vetiver in particular begin to stand apart as the sweetness pulls back. Overall this was a lot better than I expected it to be; I'd consider getting a bottle after my decant runs out. The gourmand nature might make it a bit cloying in the highest heat, but that does back off enough to where I believe it's all season capable.

I'm gonna write this to help people blind buy this because most likely a lot of people would have to. This is closer to Original Santal than Joop is. However I thought Joop and Individuel are closer to each other than Original Santal and Individuel are to each other. So this is what I thought at first Original Santal------- Individuel---Joop but it may also be closer to Original Santal than it is to Joop. So it might be more like this Original Santal---Individuel------Joop. Because after the very sweet and Joop like opening Individuel turns into a much fresher and also more complex scent which is less like Joop. I don't think it smells synthetic. To me things like L'eau D'Issey and Cool Water are synthetic not this. I would say that Original Santal smells unusually natural, that's all, it's a 300 euro fragrance. Expect D & G grade quality. Slightly less but I suppose it doesn't have longevity issues that'd & g does. And among these 3, this one is the one that evolves more and is less linear. I wish I could smell the raspberry and chocolate more. This is definitely the rarest of the bunch. Things to notice in this, the Cool Water herb combo mint rosemary and lavender, the pineapple use that they credit to Pierre Bourdon for.

I have amassed quite a wardrobe of fragrances, but I always find myself coming back to Montblanc Individuel. It’s consistently a great compliment-getter and feels uniquely well-rounded. I haven't tried Creed Original Santal yet, but I can absolutely see why it's often said that Creed took inspiration from Individuel. When I first wore it, I didn’t immediately notice the chocolate note—but once it was pointed out, I couldn’t un-smell it. Initially, I was struck more by a spicy lavender accord, blended with what I can best describe as a fire-roasted pineapple nuance. It's an intriguing and unexpected combination that keeps it interesting. That said, it can be overwhelming on an active summer day, not just because of the scent profile but also due to its impressive longevity and projection. In an air-conditioned office, it's manageable, but for more active or outdoor professions, it might come across as too forward or intrusive. Still, I find Individuel to be classy, casual, distinctive, and a definite attention-getter. It stands out without trying too hard, striking a balance between being unique and approachable. It’s one of those rare fragrances that feels equally at home on a laid-back day or dressed up for an evening out.

Hello everyone, I am new to this site and new to reviewing fragrances. That being said Montblanc Individual was one of my first blind buys about 2.5 years ago. I had a collection of around 12 scents while in highschool but got rid of them between college and getting married. Reset to late 2019 and I'm looking for more scents after getting Montblanc Legend for Father's day in 2017. For me Montblanc Individual is unique. I can't say if it's ground breaking because I'm limited in what fragrances I have smelled so far but I really enjoy it. It's a bit fruity/sweet but there is something else manly and different about it that I really like. Fragrances are hard to review because they are so dependent on what you like as an individual and what your nose and brain do with a specific scent. I would recommend this for a blind buy. I think it's just different enough to make you remember to use it and it's usually very well priced. I think I got mine for $30 on ebay. My opinion is: Any season wearable Sillage is a few feet Longevity is around 5-7 hours with a few sprays on my neck and a few on my shirt. Value is good for the price This is my first review on here so please don't judge me too hard! Thanks.

I have been curious about this fragrance for a long time but not enough to buy it. I recently noticed that it is dirt cheap on discounters, so I pulled the trigger. My concern from looking at the "main accords" on this page, was that the sweet and fruity aspects would be too much and end up being off-putting, and although I enjoy several Montblanc frags, I'm not usually impressed with them enough to put them in my "love" category, so I thought this one might be another "meh." Thankfully, that wasn't the case at all. This is a really great fragrance, and I think it should be brought up as "one of the greatest office fragraces" just as much as something like Prada's L'homme. To me, it's like fresh linens that were dried with one of those good-smelling dryer sheets with a light dusting of rasberry over the top. Nothing harsh or out of place, and I don't get a "synthetic" vibe from it. It's not a strong performer in the projection department (not every fragrance needs to be) but longevity is good. Absolutely worth the cash you'll pay for it and then some.

I love this fragrance! it has become my signature scent, even people around me know me with this scent. the opening is a little harsh, but not for so long. the dry down is just a 10/10! the raspberry+lavender+cinnamon combo is insanely addictive and inviting. It's just a great dumb reach for all seasons. I genuinely get compliments wearing this. BUT I wish the performance was better. I bought a small decant to fill up with Individuel to have it on me outside to reapply, and that works just fine. On skin it stays for like 6 hours, but on clothes it stays up to 2 days. And people say the performance differs depending on the weather, and that not wrong, I get that too. Overall I would give this one a solid 8/10, just because the performance lacks a bit.

Original Santal came two years after this one, and both were created by Pierre Bourdon. That being said, I can picture Creed hiring him, stating that the liked what he did with Individuel, and gave him the leeway to create a similar fragrance with better ingredients, because it is that. I'm wearing Original Santal today, but I have Individuel on my right hand, and Original Santal on my left. They do smell VERY similar, but Indiividuel is a little bit lighter, a bit airy where Original Santal is a bit more herbaceous, deeper, and more resinous. To me, they are both good fragrances. Who is to say there isn't room to enjoy both of Pierre Bourdon's creations?

Incredible stuff. Truly. Proves that you really don't need to spend much to obtain wearable, versatile, noticeable fragrances that still maintain their dignity and compliment factor even in close-quarters. Smells great, performs well, and is very inexpensive without smelling cheap. A quality standout nowadays in the era of vanilla/vanilla/vanilla note breakdowns. But this still works well today. And despite my experience with Original Santal, I find this one suits my personality (and bank account) better, as it is a little bit less polished than the Creed. I like the rougher edges. Both are very good fragrances. Thank you Pierre Bourdon.

Such a beautiful summer fragrances. I usually don’t like summer type scents but this one is just a beauty. It was one of my first ever fragrances I bought in a haul and after 80 or so fragrances later this is still top 5 summer scents in my collections. It’s not super unique but the scent for some reason is just beautiful. It’s alittle synthetic when you first spray but let this baby dry down 5-10 mins later you get this beautiful fresh/fruity scent. It reminds me just a tad bit of hawas but in my opinion I love this more then hawas. It’s a beauty!

I disagree with most comments and this has become one of my favourites. It leans a lot on the sweet, fruity side - when I got it, it literally smelled like only raspberries and chocolate but within a couple weeks it started showing its other notes. The only thing I agree on is that the opening is a bit synthetic but it dries down very quick to this fruity, clean smell. It's perfect for night/spring/autumn, also works as an everyday scent for those who like sweeter scents. It somewhat reminds me of the JPG Scandal line but not so potent.

Synthetic? Because of brand image, which is affordable offering, people is echoing other's negative comments like virus. What fragrances produced without synthetic ingredients, people? Even the expensive niche perfumes use synthetic molecules and oils in their production. Mont Blanc Individuel is a decent solid offer for the price, and it does the job well. It's not about the quality, but, whether or not you like this type of scent profile. What is so called Synthetic smelling in today's commercial perfumery, really?

This is a nice soft scent, reminds me of the spicy vibe of YSL Opium for men but much softer, more office friendly, more informal. Good for everyday use, more suitable for colder times than summer because of the underlying sweetness and spices and the lack of citric notes. Don't spray on clothes unless it's really really cold, you want this scent to fade to its drydown and not stay strong as on the opening phases. It's a solid frag, well worth its current asking price at the known frag discounters.

Simple, fresh, and super inoffensive. It kinda reminds me of playing outside as a kid and walking past the vent for the laundry room. If you just want something that literally smells like an expensive brand fabric softener, this is it. This is also one of the safest work scents you could possibly wear, especially if you are like me and work with patients. It's very versatile and can be worn almost all year round however I would advice against wearing this in high heat (80 degrees or more)

I've found that my favorite fragrances are often a concoction of notes that don't seem like they should work together, but do. This is one of those fragrances. It's synthetically sparkling yet has some smoother raspberry and chocolate notes. Then the vetiver sneaks in unexpectedly... It's amazing. It's similar to CDG 2 for me, in that the frag feels both traditional and futuristic. Incredibly nostalgic, both in smell and maybe because it's from 2003. 9/10

Some say this gives similar vibes to Joop Home, but I have to disagree. Although I found this fragrance at my local Ross for $25, it smells identical to Creed Original Santal. It's not bad at all. However, with this fragrance, you should use no more than 3-4 sprays. Anything more than that could give bad vibes to some because the metallic smell could be off-putting. Overall, I love it, and it provides fresh linen with raspberry notes. It's really lovely.

This is probably one of the most complicated fragrances I own. It's very hard to tie down the notes. It smells different on skin than it does on paper. I like the way it smells coming off my skin better than when it's on paper. I picked this up at Burlington Coat Factory yesterday for $20.00 after regrettably passing up on it a year ago. Well worth the price. Go get it. If you don't like it you can gift it to someone who will enjoy wearing it.

Much better than these ratings suggest. On me, I get lots of cardamom and lavender, aromatic sweetness and amber. Smooth, gourmand adjacent dry down. I wouldn't describe it as laundry-esque but quite pleasant. Others like MYSLF EDP are laundry dryer sheets, totally designer mass appealing. This isn't that. But, still quite appealing. I see this quickly becoming my new easy reach signature scent. It's quite uplifting and mood enhancing as well.

One of my first couple of fragrance purchases right after JPG le male and D&G light blue. Individual takes me back to high school to be honest, I graduated in 2019 if that means anything. Sweet fragrance that gave me plenty of compliments and for me it lasted a couple of hours but some people may find it fades away rather quickly(I only say this because it didn't last long on my brother). You cant go wrong for what its priced at either.

I blind bought this at Ross and I’m still blown away. By how amazing this stuff is. This stuff opens up smelling citrusy and fruity but then as it starts to dry down you get a spicy fresh smell with mint, cinnamon, and fruity notes. After about an hour to an hour and a half it starts smelling like fresh linen and vanilla with raspberry. Overall this is a great fragrance for all occasions. Got me compliments like crazy.

I wore this one today as my office choice. Even after all if these years, it is still one of my top office safe choices for fall, winter, and early spring. It's not for everyone, but you can't go wrong with the sweet dryer sheet smell when playing it safe at the office. For the price it's also a really good value due to it being a solid 8 hour performer, and a a modest sillage trail and projection for about an hour.

Love at first smell. It’s a nice fabric softener smell and has this absolutely beautiful raspberry note that makes it sweet and flirty. It is kinda synthetic but it almost smells better that way in this case! It isn’t very common and actually pretty unique and you can use it for any occasion and it’s only $25!! at least for the 50ml I bought at Ross definitely recommend and pretty safe blind buy in my opinion

I am happy to report that my bottle with the batch code AFR27R008A was produced in January 2026. Which means Individuel might be back in production! It smells similar to how I remember it, with better performance. I was genuinely caught off guard by the opening blast. It's strong, and I get slightly more masculine lavender and while the raspberry takes more time before it goes forward.

A very safe, and nice fragrance. I think this fragrance is very versatile, and safe for basically any occasion. It smells like fresh and clean raspberry high quality detergent. It smells like what you want your nice freshly washed clothes to smell like. 5-7 sprays is probably good, because its not the strongest, but you could get away with 3 if you don't want to be noticed too much.

I love soapy, powdery, fresh laundry-like fragrances and I think this is an absolute gem. In fact, the synthetic nature of this fragrance is what makes it smell so clean, like you're wearing freshly dried clothes. I do understand that it won't please most wearers, but if people smell this on you they'll just think you're a clean man who's safe to be around with.

The fact nobody is saying this smells almost just like Joop but much less in your face and toned down to manageable levels blows my mind. I mean I like Joop as it reminds me of my uncle but it is very strong and in your face. If Joop made a sophisticated lovely version of the original that's what this smells like

i really like fresh and clean as i like prada amber. that is already hard to find and this one is discontinued. it smells really nice like some fresh laundry. i really like it. what a life. edit: just used ISO E Super on this yesterday and this morning its still lingers! a sillage is expected.

This is a great fragrance, although I prefer Presence. I find it funny when people say this smells like Creed's Original Santal when this came out two years before Original Santal. Shouldn't it be Original Santal smells like Individuel? Just my two cents worth.

I am not sure why people are hating on it. It's actually really really nice. Very clean, maybe somewhat generic, but sophisticated sweet fabric softener kind of a vibe. One of the nicest raspberry openings you can sniff. Beautiful scent at least for me.

I really don’t understand the notes listed here. For me this is very oceanic sweet fragrance. This is summer fragrance with bergamot, cardamom lavender and sandalwood notes. Its very fresh. In specific its smells like ocean breeze lotion.

This perfume is amazing I have a bottle that is over 2 years old the color of the juice has darkened a lot it smells smoother now sadly it's almost empty time to rebuy new one that would be my 3rd bottle it's just a safe dumb reach for me

I’ve gone through bottles and bottles of this and I’m sure I’ll be going through many more. Will always have a prominent place in my collection. Works in just about any and every situation imaginable. Clean, cozy, unique, beautiful.

It's so synthetic, reeks of chemicals. like an average fabric cleaner. Then why does it smell so damn good? Bring it back, Montblanc. Stop making clones of boxer droppers like Aventus and give us the originals please.

Probably my OG favorite cologne my husband has. Brings back amazing memories. If I had to describe it, smells like clean laundry and raspberries! Amazing! I also like wearing it too but it's definitely masculine.

Great fragrance and for really cheap too. Has a lovely raspberry note which smells amazing. Just a clean, great everyday scent that has gotten me compliments. Recommend the pickup.

Ey man, if you really like raspberry that has aquatic notes, this scent is for you, might be a little too sweet at the beginning tho. Smell 9/10 Sillage 5,5/10 Logevity 6/10

Bourdon hardly misses. Another banger from this master perfumer. A spicier Cool Water is the best I can come with. It has Cool Water characteristics, with added spiciness.

This is a hidden gem! It is sweet and fruity, so if that's your thing it's worth a try. Great value, good performance, for me, for an EDT. I wish they'd do an EDP.

My fav cheapie that isn’t a dupe 100% not the best performance but the smell is amazing it smells like a freshly washed blanket with raspberry on top.

So nice I bought it twice! At least 8 hours on my skin, longer on clothes. My wife loves it and it garners compliments!

Perfect for daytime wear, especially in warmer months, this scent evoke a sense of vitality and cleanliness.

The opening is fresh barber style fragrance and feels a bit like Mont Blanc Legend. The dry down is sexy.
