Legend Special Edition 2014

This are the ingredients, according to the sticker on my tester bottle - 2014 : Top Notes : Bergamot , Lime , Lavender , Spearmint Heart Notes : Violet Leaves, Green Apple,Pomarose,Cardamom Base Notes : Evernyl, White Cedarwood, Sandalwood,Dry Amber

Back in 2015 I was offered a batch/closed box of these from a closing outlet. Coming from Bulgari pour homme I expected more, but it quickly became a favorite. It performs really well in warmer locations (im based south of the equator).

My newest summer scent, i love it, it's not overpowering but it's very good for hot days. I got the big bottle for a nice price :)

Legend Special Edition 2014 is a refreshed version of the original designed for the summer season. Created by "Olivier Pescheux" , the composition begins with lime from Peru and fresh mint from Morocco that lead to the heart of violet leaf and sweet cardamom. Performance non existent I ended up throwing this one in the gym bag and use it to spray on myself at work every few hours just to have something on my skin. The fragrance itself isn't anything special either not one compliment and it smells like my old bottle of Kenneth black w a hint of lime on the top but then it tends to fade once it sets for a few minutes. Thumbs down

The lime is a strange bitter strong that's unpleasantly sharp. On my skin and off it, it was not that great. Asked for some opinions and people thought it was pretty good, I am not very excited about it, and wont buy it. Performance of the fragrance was poor, kinda what I expected from a summer edition though. original is the better option.

Once the heavy lime note settles down a little bit this smells amazing! The violet leaf starts to come through and it all just settles into a great fresh Mont Blanc fragrance. It's like a fresher version of the original Mont Blanc Legend. Get this before it runs out because it's definitely good! I give this a 8.6/10

#12 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Some scents are discontinued for good reason, and this is one of those. Smells great for about ten minutes then totally disappears. You could bathe in this stuff and a half hour at most no one in the car with you would notice. It certainly wasn't worth paying the price I paid on eBay for this bottle, but lesson learned.

Montblanc Legend was one of my first mainstream scents post-teenager. I associate it with the photo, and wore it as I started my professional career. It was one of the first bottles of cologne I finished completely, and remember the scent haunting me days after. This nostalgia lead me to blind buy the 2014 SE a few years back after catching it show up at a discounter. I didn’t really explore it again until recently. My batch code returns a 2014 production year, so exploring this smell 5 years later probably has consequences impacting formulation, projection, and performance. With that being said, there’s something uniquely tart about the lime opening, and in a positive way. For me, this isn’t a smell I expect to get a lot of attention from (don’t really wear fragrances for that goal either so I’m biased); rather, this is a light, playful, small smell that I like to wear after a workout, before bed, or on weekend mornings during the spring to reflect the simple beginnings of those moments. It doesn’t project, and it mostly fades fairly quick - but I can catch the heart to base transition, if I’m lucky. Whether the formulation, or simply the impact of time, I appreciate the lessened performance. It captures the small simplicity of passing happiness in a way that few sensations can.

The smell is pretty good but performance wise it's is horrible. Not so crazy about the opening but after half an hour or so it reminds somewhat of a weaker version of the opening of Lacoste White. I guess is because of the citrus mix with the Mint and Lacoste ihas Grapefruit with Rosemary which gives it a minty citrus vibe as well. Smell good everything else mediocre.

How can they get away with watering down the original fragrance and call it a limited edition?! This is so watered down it's not even funny. IF you can even smell it, it does smell good, but holy cow might as well call this EDW or Eau de Water. The strength of this scent is pretty much a 1 out of 5.

So just remove a note or two each time and add one to the year, what is this?

Lame...if you like windex. 2/10
