Presence Cool

A nice fresh fruity scent. Starts off a bit artificial, then it evolves into a pleasant fresh, soapy, fruity fragrance. Longevity and silage are moderate. This was a blind buy but I'm glad I got this. I haven't had a bad Montblanc yet. By the way, this is nothing like Presence original this is like a superior and sweeter version of NightFlight. You could wear this any time - it's a good one.

The name and color of this give a false impression. This is not a blue fragrance. It is a barbershop fougere. Plenty of lavender and eugenol, smooth tonka. It isn't going to make the same statement and Azzaro PH or Paco Rabanne PH, but it has a nice aromatic freshness and for $20, it is a blind buy for guys like me who can never have too many nice fougeres.

Trying many times I like this a lot ‘ I use this for work as a deodorant. Clean smelling shower gel or as others opinions being said ‘Gillette shaving foam’yes I agree and this is similar to original penguin ice blue ‘also Salvatore ferragamo subtil fresh’ but montblanc presence cool smells better to me. Definitely.

Got a new batch but it says made by Scannon SAS and not inter Parfums. It is soooo tomed down that it is really difficult at least for me to smell it as I remind it from the 2003 early vintage round elíptic bottles. Any one got this new ultra toned down version?

This is a great fragrance. Fresh and crisp. Elegant and serene. Blue and shinny. Glad it was re-issued. Much better IMO than the original one which is heavier and powdery.

Smells just like Gillette Sensitive Skin After Shave Gel- a cool, pleasant scent that makes you feel nice and fresh.

This matches my usual expectations of Montblanc Men's fragrances: initial craving/excitement from the beautiful presentation (love the shiny box, 'cool' bottle - pun intended, and strikingly blue juice); interesting/attractive smell (in this case a watery-spicy, green-cool scent that could work as a versatile year round scent); ingredients compromised in quality; mediocre projection beyond the first 10 minutes; crap longevity; disappointment. Therefore, ironically I'm not disappointed at all :) It performs much better when sprayed on clothes though.... UPDATE: After wearing it several times over the last few months, I've come to the conclusion that I was overly harsh in my judgment. For me, it seems that olfactory fatigue sets in quickly after more than 4 sprays on my skin. Less sprays than this and its depth is much more impressive with longevity & sillage acceptable at 5 or 6 hours. My favourite Montblanc so far. (Update 2025: since overtaken by Individuel Tonic and Explorer Ultra Blue).

Presence Cool by Montblanc is an aromatic, amber fragrance with a light wooded atmosphere. Its opening is pleasant, elegant, bringing some characteristics of the original Presence, but only for a brief moment, it smells fruity, citrus and floral. After the opening, it becomes a clean scent of flowers and amber, mainly geranium and soft woods. A very common scent in the late 90s and early 2000s. It is a fragrance to be used on any occasion, it has a very pleasant and inoffensive aroma, perfect for office work. I had read about its short duration, but it stayed with me for more than 12 hours, although with little projection. It is already a discontinued fragrance, but it can still be found at an affordable price. Its bottle looks great in that blue color. I like it, but I think I'll give it to my brother.

Wish I had known about this previously as I was literally searching for a fragrance that smelled like Gillette sensitive skin shave gel. Lol no joke. That was a year ago and I just stumbled upon these reviews and went out to Marshalls and blind bought it. Thank goodness they had it. It definitely fills my need for a light “not trying too hard” fresh out of the shower scent. I love smelling like shave gel I don’t care what anyone says 😂 Edit: This is a great pickup for layering, in my simple humble opinion. Smells fantastic with Dylan Blue and Molecule 02/Ambroxan. Spray this one heavily. Edit: Don’t knock it till you actually try it dude 😂 to each their own. I payed around 20.00 for this NOT 35.00. Do not buy for 35.00

Nothing special, basic, linear, clean, and safe fragrance. Unable to return or else I probably would have. I DO NOT agree with the people below me saying this is a gem for under $35 and that it layers well with dylan blue... There are an enormous amount of better fragrances you could get with $35 and dylan blue completely overpowers this. I can see this working out for younger guys that are just getting started in their journey, but may not be the best for someone who is really into fragrances - (boring, dated, weak performer, etc.) I do use this as a house spray, I enjoy it for that! It is actually growing on me a little bit.

I didn’t hate this fragrance but did not like it either ! This opens up smelling like a soapy 90s style that’s just slightly off putting,sharp and synthetic. Once this dries the bamboo and apple note give this a fresh watery smell with the geranium giving this an almost barbershop type smell. So in a nutshell this smelled like a generic,aquatic with a barbershop touch in the dry down. Performance was above average as it projected softly but actually lasts me 5-8 hours ! Which makes it a decent gym and casual scent. Overall rating-6 out of 10 ! A pretty forgettable scent but still not bad at all

This was a blind by for me since I was trying to find a more affordable version of Nautica Latitude being that it's discontinued...Presence Cool is nothing like Latitude at all, which I was a bit pleasantly disappointed because it still smelt okay after the dry down. At a first smell I noticed a cheap synthetic smell, similar to Gillette's 'Pacific Light' aftershave, but it turns in to a light fresh smell which i found to be not too bad. On me i found Presence to only last about 3-4 hours but lasted on longer on clothing. All in all, this fragrance is nothing to go crazy about in my books...

Nice warm weather scent. It does give me the ADGio vibe but not exactly. Stays pretty much the same fresh scent from start to finish. Discontinued, but I found mine at Burlington. Blind buy. No regrets. I needed a nice fresh blue in my new collection. Edit after wearing today, Seems to be a decent performer for a fresh scent. I put it on @ 6 this morning. It's about noon and it's still going strong. Used 6 sprays I think. 3 on skin,, 3 on clothes. I work by myself so I don't know how well it projects. Glad I had a warm day in December to try it out.

Edit/addition to my prior review: Very nice and natural geranium predominating here. You can always count on geranium to be pretty good because the natural form is cheap, and synthetics are not used. This is not a "light" scent at all. It is cool, but on me is very heavy if I use more than one spritz. This has great sillage and longevity on my skin, and that is really an understatement. It is exceptional. Very green and slightly sweet, with a fresh note that sometimes makes me think this could be a fresh flanker to Bvlgari Aqva.

Where the og Presence smells like a cinnamon shaving cream, as others have mentioned Presence Cool smells like Gillette shaving GEL. A cheapie win for those of us who have a use for generic soapy fougerish clean smells. I use this along with my Nauticas, Coach Blue, Drakkar Noir, Lomani, Cool water when I just want to smell like a clean, unassuming, well groomed man. Good for blue collar workers, and trips to home depot.

I love it! It's my second favorite cologne so far! It's very relaxed and calm smelling. It is perfect for a chill relaxed guy! :D But for some reason, my body makes it smell very fresh and not manly at all, but when my older cousin sprays it (he's 30), it smells very very manly, so I don't like it on him, but I like it on myself because it smells unisex on my skin, almost the same as when a girl sprays this on herself.

Best review of this right here, so this doesn’t have that super sharp after shave smell as the original. This is much softer smoother and calming. If I had to describe it best, take Nautica voyage and add some of that blue Gillette shave gel aroma and you get this. Super pleasant and definitely a mass appealing hidden gem worth it for under 35$

Nose Note #290 Nice barbershop fougere, but very weak. Seconds after application and it barely gives a push. I'd say it goes in the direction of Egoiste Platinum, but it's much more aquatic. Overall it completely fades into the shadow of many over classic fragrances of the same manner. A fragrance as safe as they get

Nice, fresh, easy and great for the gym. This is similar to Mont Blanc Starwalker with the bamboo note. An easy dumb reach! I give this a 8.6/10

This is really nice. Just what you would expect given the fragance notes, with good projection and longevity. Green. A modern fougere for sure.

The scent of Presence Cool by Montblanc is almost exactly like that of men's Gillette shaving gel. The scent is both inoffensive and uninspiring. Smells a bit cheap in my opinion. I would not recommend this fragrance.

Smells like a watered-down version of starwalker, just get that one instead.

First Pass - Blue scent. Blue Old Spice body wash. Maybe some amber? Maybe some cucumber? Pyramid has bamboo, bergamot, and granny smith apple. Bergamot sure. Granny Smith is a tart apple, which tracks with the citrus vibe of a blue. I wouldn't know what bamboo smelled like if it hit me on the head 1 Hour Later - This has softened and opened up. Less strident deodorant, more floral and citrus notes now. A faint earthiness Floral from jasmine and geranium. Amber is a base note that I smelled at the top. Any one of the musk, sandalwood, tonka bean, or patchouli additions could be giving the earthiness. Nothing more than a sprinkle, very light Overall - Fans of Davidoff Cool Water will find a lot to like here. I don't reach for blue fragrances, but this one is done well ***Scents, like tastes, are subjective. Wear what you like***

My first impression: I love the original version, but the cool presence bears little resemblance to him. It is ranked as the Fragrantica Fougere aromatic, the notes described there is oak moss, lavender, or coumarin, patchouli is only then did not understand why the classification fougere. I think it would be more to a woody aromatic. Well, the fragrance opens with bergamot and bamboo evident in the first minutes, I can feel little green apple. After some citrus note and starts to appear softer wood of sandalwood with tonka bean and musk. I found a scent common good, as I said before, there is a tiny memory with the original presence that could only notice more notes in the background. Perfume common, there are better options for days. The projection at first sight appear very weak.

I'm stumped by this fragrance. I hate it because it's so soft and I like it because it's so nicely done and purposefully soft. The initial burst of sweet apple and bergamont fades fast. I know bergamont fades fast but these people made it fade almost instantly! Magic! That part is pleasant but nothing special. The interesting aspect of this fragrance is the softest part of the fragrance. The oxygen accord and the super-soft watery bamboo in the middle. The middle of this fragrance washes away the mediocrity of the zesty opening. It's a nice opening but nothing memorable. The mid is where this fragrance shines and sparkles. Like something under the surface of slowly moving water. With my nose an inch away from the recently sprayed area I get a sketch of nicely rendered wet bamboo - in ankle deep clear water. It calls to mind the palpable scent of water when I'm thirsty in hot weather. It is powerful in it's softness. The best way I can describe this scent is that it's like a gasp for breath when breaking the surface from swimming under water ... then an even exhalation slows into a soft silence. I can't explain why I enjoy this almost unnoticeable fragrance but I do - allot - it definitely has something to do with the gorgeous watery middle. But might have something to do with the drydown that lasts and lasts and lasts. Maybe something to do with the salty fig note that creeps in and really opens up just enough to get noticed at the end - that particular note reminded me very much of the one in Dali Agua Verde.

I think Presence is nice but I figure that a cool or, lets say, a light version of what already wasn't a very sweet scent, would be even nicer. I couldn't be more wrong because this has nothing to do with the original. Even the notes says that. Where's the florals actually? I thought a lot trying to discover what was that familiar smell and the closest thing I got was something I get from Versace pour Homme. So, must be the bergamot screaming among other notes, and maybe I'm getting some apple too. It doesn't last long to settles down. So far the less attractive/interesting Mont Blanc I own (considering, so, Individuel, Presence, Exceptionnel and Starwalker).

Very nice, soapy, clean and fresh, if you want that vibe of having just gotten out of the shower, then this is a very safe bet. I managed to get hold of a decant, it seems it's discontinued and hard to get hold of. Not sure I'd pay over the odds for it, as there are alternatives to it, Nautica Voyage perhaps being the main contender. I definitely get the Gillette sensitive shaving gel vibe, and it is very blue. Not Cool Water Blue or Aquatic, but definitely blue. Longevity was good, projection was moderate. If you're expecting this to be a tweaked version of the original, think again, it's nothing like it.

the opening was a sweet, grassy, and floral.. loved the perfume's aroma.. very pleasing must say and you seem to be in a more cheerful or a joyful mood after smelling it!lasting of the perfume was also fine, but one thing that this din't convince me was that i think that this perfume is for women, i mean the cherryness all the flowers and stuff its more like a women perfume than male in my opinion.. maybe its a unisex perfume.. anyways gr8 perfume u'll like to smell it not sure about the purchasing part!! lol

What a lovely and simple composition. The highlight of this fragrance is the geranium which has become one of my favorite notes. It's synthetic, yes, but very refreshing to say the least. It's light, gentle and inoffensive - could be a great office scent. To my nose possibly the best Montblanc fragrance I've tried. Performance is lacking but that's common among most modern fougeres.

Just got rid of this, actually made me sick to my stomach to smell. I really enjoy the other scents from this house but I recommend to stay clear of this juice. Not for me. No longevity, fads out very quick.

Aquatic Fougere banger for $20. This is un-hate-able, and absolutely I-really-like-this-able. Great scent!
