Signature Absolue

The first time I wore this, I was not very impressed. I thought it was OK and a little sharp in the opening. And something odd smelling that I can’t put my finger on. It had a strong woodiness in the base. And the projection and longevity were terrible. BUT NOW... after letting it sit for about a week I have fallen madly in love😍 the odd smell, and sharp opening have completely disappeared. It’s not as Woody anymore. And The projection and longevity are amazing. I smell this creamy tropical happy perfume surrounding me all day🙌🏻 the tuberose has a sweet coconut vibe to it. (NOT sunscreen) And the frangipani is so tropical and creamy smelling. I’m picking up more of the pear and mandarin now as well. Such a mood boosting fragrance. The ylang ylang is there giving this perfume an extra sprinkling of happy yellow floral. I think this is perfect for summertime! Your own little private vacation in a bottle! Moral of the story is, don’t judge this perfume by the first or even second wear. Give it a little time and it turns into something magical 😋

This is summer in a bottle, an explosion of frangipani, and one of the most gorgeous fragrances I've encountered in 40+ years of wearing perfume. It definitely has a 90's vibe, but in a very good way. This fragrance reminds me of the original Carolina Herrera EDP and Givenchy's Amarige. She's warm, sweet, playful, and enticing. Imagine sitting by a pool at a tropical island resort, sipping a fruity cocktail and surrounded by exotic flowers. This fragrance is perfect if you don't want to smell like everyone else. At first I thought longevity was poor, but I’ve been getting compliments many hours after applying. The sillage of this is perfect, too. This was an instalove for me. I bought the biggest bottle immediately then returned and picked up a back-up bottle the next day. It's one of the most exquisite and addictive fragrances I've ever smelled, and the heavy glass bottle is to-die-for. 3 weeks later... I'm now completely obsessed with this fragrance. It's an absolute dream.

Love at first sniff. This is sooooooo elegant. Bright, citrusy on the right level, together with such ease. It's difficult to explain, but it conveys radiance to me, gold, sunlight, a very chic woman, a white flowy blouse, finesse. Had to buy it. It grabbed me by my hair. I pair it with philosykos sometimes and it is the best layering ever, since philosykos balances out Montblancs sweetness with freshness. I have a full bottle and am already thinking about what I'm going to do when it's finished (it's nowhere near done). I am obsessed with this fragrance like I have been with very few scents.

This is such a sophisticated fragrance. I was so sad when my bottle ran out and I will be repurchasing soon! I feel like this is so versatile. You can wear it everyday and smell like a lovely put-together person, or you can wear this at a fancy event to smell unique! Its light, feminine, and so so addictive. I would get so happy every time I got to wear it or smell it it was truly my favorite fragrance. The name for it is so fitting. I would honestly make this my signature scent.

I went in to the perfume store specifically to smell Montblanc Signature as I had heard good things about it. It didn't wow me on the card so I ended up getting two other fragrances and in my bag the nice clerk gave me a sample of Montblanc Signature Absolu and 😍 wow! I like it so much from the very first sniff. It's sweet, creamy such a signature scent like the name suggests. It doesn't last that long but it's so beautiful that I'm going back for the full bottle

Beautiful start - floral, ambery, fruity. A bit synthetic though as I feel a headache starting from my nasal tracts. I hope it will go away and is only weather-related. It smells luxurious, evokes thoughts of lounging on a big bed covered with white veil. My first though was: how does anyone want to smell any different. Before the headache... Pear mixes greatly with tonka bean and frangipani softens tuberose. It feels bright. It reminds me of Extatic by Balmain

This one is special. It is elegant but fun, feminine without being too sweet and this is exactly what I like about it...It is playful without trying too hard and captures attention unwittingly. Interesting and distinct. It is also fit for virtually any occasion, everyday, evening, office...It has a good sillage, but it's not obnoxious and for me it lasts 5-8 hours. Amazing, well thought out composition with a lot of imagination.

The perfect all-rounder. Manages to be both subtly bright in the opening and warmly comforting in the dry down. This reliable companion is suitable for all seasons and both day or night appropriate. Lasts an entire day at work, and is something I find myself always wanting to wear. Absolute love. I find the original signature much too sticky-sweet - whereas the absolue has soft, subtle intrigue.

Glorious, this is all about the ylang and frangipani and playing up their tropical sweet nuances of mango pulp and and creamy banana. Very strong out of the bottle and my skin, lasts well over 8 hrs from my trial spray. Once this macerates, it will definitely be phenomenal. Best in warm weather as with scents in this family.

No creo que las únicas frutas a la salida sean solo mandarina y pera, huele muy tropical y pensaría que tiene mango, me resulta al inicio muy similar a fame de Paco Rabanne, después hay flores amarillas y se siente cremoso. Es un aroma muy tropical con un bonito fondo amaderado. Me parece una fragancia hermosa e inofensiva.

Such a burst of citrus at the open and it dries down to be such lush tropical vibes but not in a sunscreen way. It’s like actual tropical fruit hanging from dewy trees surrounded by tropical flowers. Somehow this manages to not come across too summery either. It’s a brilliant, uplifting year-round wear.

Million Gold for Her is on my wish list but it's a little intense (I'm prone to migraine)so I've been hesitant. This little gem popped up on a discounter. Great deal and it is a little softer less intense version. Super happy with it

OK, I just tried this a few hours ago and it is giving me HUGE Libre/Libre Intense vibes. It is not similar to the original Signature at all but for me that's a good thing because I don't care for it.

Smells like a powdery vanilla with a bit of citrus to me. There's a floral note I can't identify - perhaps the frangipani. Does not smell like the notes listed but very warm cosy bright smell.

I quite like this perfume. It has a very tropical feel to me that makes me think of Tahiti or Fiji and being at a beach resort. I get a fruity and citric quality from the mandarin orange and a slight spiciness from the pink pepper at the beginning, but I can't really smell the pear in this. I think I would have liked the opening more if there was less pink pepper though. In the heart notes it's mainly about the banana sweet yellow florals to me. I can smell the ylang ylang and the frangipani, but I'm not really getting much tuberose in this unlike everyone else. Only just a touch really. This stage reminds me of a floral frangipani and ylang ylang scented sunscreen, which I love! Lastly, in the base notes I can smell both the vanilic and slightly gourmand smelling tonka bean and the woody and deep smell of cedar. I feel like I would have preferred it if this stage were a bit subtler so that the yellow florals at the heart of this fragrance could shine a bit more. This fragrance probably reminds me most of La Femme by Prada. Longevity was an average 6 hours on me and the sillage was moderate and could be smelt at an arm's length away. This could be worn during the daytime during all of the seasons except winter, but it makes me think of summer the most. It's very feminine too. It's a very nice perfume and I'd give it a 7/10. I think it's something I could potentially buy my mom or other women that I know that love floral fragrances. It's not full bottle worthy for me though.

After a fluffy cloud of white musk, vanilla, peonies and clementines with the original Signature, Montblanc decided to give us a tropical floral bomb with tuberose, mixed with citrus and fruits. So far, sounds great. The OG Signature is one of my favourites fragrances in my collection, I am on my second bottle. It’s so addictive smelling and so inexpensive, it’s a true gem! I am not sure if Signature Absolute will be such a big love as the original. I mean, all those floral notes listed are my favourite for a summertime scent: ylang ylang, frangipani, tuberose. I love pear, tonka beans and pink pepper in fragrances, and I do like mandarin oranges and cedar. So the result should be a dream come true for me. But it lacks the sweetness I want in my tropical scents, on me it’s not sweet in the slightest. I think the tuberose used in Signature Absolute is rather a green one because the fruits are sweets, tonka beans are usually sweet as well, so it should be a scent perfume. I am not sure yet, but I think it’s the case where I want to love the scent more than I actually do. I want to sample it further before committing to get a full bottle or to move on. After a initial test, it didn’t convince that I should buy a bottle. And it’s fairly reasonably priced like the original Signature. Will update if I decide to get it! Jury is still out on this...

This is a great scent!! I knew I’d love it before I smelled it based on the notes. I wasn’t disappointed. It’s so pretty! I adore ylang ylang in fragrances and this one had a noticeable creamy ylang ylang note but to me it isn’t overpowering. This isn’t super ambery on my skin. I’d say it’s more fruity floral but it does have a beautiful depth. The notes here don’t say there’s amber, but rather tonka and cedar. However, I have a tester bottle and it states it is a floral ambery fruity scent. Notes are listed (obviously not in full) Mandarin, ylang, Golden Amber. It’s gorgeous!! Almost a love, however I reserve that that for very few scents! This could be a beautiful signature scent and can be worn in any season.

This perfume is too strong for me. It’s as overpowering and heavy as a bottle of fabric softener, making it impossible for me to distinguish the individual notes, and the scent also smells very old-fashioned. P/s: After a few days of using it in 15–20°C weather, I find that it actually smells quite nice. It’s a very strong but refined and elegant kind of scent, suitable for wearing in the office. The longevity is pretty good as well—the fragrance is still noticeable by the end of the day.

The original became popular for being a clean and easy-to-wear fragrance and I think this will be the same! It’s more fresh and sparkling compared to the first, I get the smell of frangipani blended with fruit. But it’s not too sweet or too floral or too fruity, it’s a perfect balance. It smells pretty, an easy reach for when you need something uncomplicated, feminine and elegant. 💛 P.s. I think “Signature Sun” would have been a more fitting name.

The opening was beautifully bright, and I really felt the tingle of the pepper, but the moment the cedar came through I was suddenly turned off – it hit me so hard it almost triggered my gag reflex. An hour later, once that cedar finally faded away from my skin, I could breathe again and really lose myself in the creamy frangipani, lush ylang‐ylang and comforting tonka bean, and that’s when the fragrance finally felt like it belonged on me.

Such a cosy but uplifting fragrance. The opening with the pear, pepper and mandarin gives it a bright citrus freshness, but it soon gives in to the sweet and creamy flowers at the heart. Ylang and frangipani are so summery and warm without being cloying. I like to wear it to hikes around May, it gives some extra brightess for the day. Then the tonka adds a subtle vanillic twist in the drydown, an extra cosy vibe for the end of the day.

I absolutely love this , it reminds me of one of the best perfumes I own which is beige by Chanel’s private line (which the price is much higer and less reasonable then in this case) . It has the same yellow floral and the tuberose and tonka makes it creamy like the honey in Chanel beige . I don’t know yet about performance but the scent is divine

super different to the original signature!! this fragrance is lighter and 100% more floral forward, yet still feels like a relative to the muskier + creamier original ; i think of signature absolue to be the girlier cousin to the mature dna of the og signature - still a very pleasant scent but i definitely prefer the original.

Extremely sweet on the opening, but it loses potency once it’s on the skin 😅 pretty scent, wearable year-round, but it has this beautiful and prominent yellow floral note that really shines and feels perfect for summer days. A well-made fragrance that will get you compliments without breaking the bank. 7/10

Still not sure about this one. I love the OG, but as others stated, these two have absolutely nothing in common. I like the warmth of Signature Absolue, but then there's that melon/cucumber vibe that bothers me at moments. Still, will be wearing it in summer. Sits close to the skin and longevity is just ok.

We clearly recognize the DNA of the original Signature with vanilla and clementine but here the ylang-ylang is twice as strong. From a fairly sweet and delicate scent, we move on to a fairly strong and much sunnier exotic scent. For my part, good staying power, good sillage and good value.

This is such a lovely, bright and golden scent. I just wish it lasted longer. Very quickly becomes a skin scent and then really just disappears :( Might just be my skin chemistry

This isnt groundbreaking but pretty. Something about it reminds me of the OG classic Daisy. The drydown is too woody for my personal liking. I would still suggest to others.

Fruity floral sweet cute perfume. She is still young but more mature than Signature. If they can add milk or cream note, it will be better.

I'm on a fence when it comes to this scent. The opening (first 12 hrs) is opulent, rich and strong. If you like traditional tuberose with opulent, warm florals, you may like this scent. Overall, when it comes to the opening, this scent is too much for me. It was hard for me to immediately like it. I prefer the original. I asked another person for an opinion and they didn't like it, unfortunately. Maybe it's the combination of tuberose and cedar and other notes. I wasn't a fan of the opening, BUT the drydown after a day is actually nice. It's still quite rich and creamy white/yellow floral with just a hint of tropical vibe, balanced by woodiness and lightness of cedar. I could see myself potentially wearing it on warmer days. It doesn't remind me of the original but that's not a downside. 4/6. I may need to test it more. Nordstrom already has testers.

For me the dry down of this smells similar to "Sun Di Gioia" by Armani , only this is far softer. In some ways, it's actually more palatable. It's got a banana leaf freshness to it, which that does not have, and this is also not as sweet. In the air they're barely discernible from each other, they're very much alike. This is a very summery scent to my nose. A gentle, summer evening scent. The link between this and "Gorgeous!" by Michael Kors is only slight. They both have a funky sort of cucumber note in them. But what's where the similarity ends, for me.

This is pleasant but doesn't have the luminous feeling of the original Signature. Both evoke pinky-orange tones and are uplifting but this one is like holding an orange Smartie up to the light, while the original is like holding a translucent orange slice up to the light. There is also something rough-edged in this, like velcro that isnt lined up and it catches on your sweater.

At first spray I loved it. Sure, nothing like the first Montblanc Signature. This one has a bright, solar aura, matching the colour of the liquid, really. However, on my skin and to my nose, the heart is it. Frangipani, Ylang and Tuberose, with the tuberose overpowering the other flowers. And that's it. I simply can't wear it, unfortunately.

I have the original Signature scent which I love. This one, I really dislike. It smells too sharp and floral for me personally.

No projection at all. Out of all my montblanc’s this is my least favorite. For an absolu I’m very disappointed

Honestly, it smells like soft cucumber.

I am testing this fragrance at around 8°C. I think this fragrance would probably perform better in the summer, because now it's so lackluster and almost non existent. Having the original I thought the absolue version would be similar, but more intense. Boy was I wrong. This one is not a Flanker to me. It's an entire new creation. First spray is a burst of citrus with a slight fruity undertone, which is pear. This top notes dissipates quite quickly. Then you can smell the slightly pungent odor of Ylang Ylang. It tickles my nose. I am a huge tuberose and frangipani lover. As a florist these flowers I loved to smell and indulge in. But in this fragrance? Nothing. So disappointed. I mean it's always somehow noticeable in any fragrance ( I own Fracas, My way and Bulgary tuberose), not here tho... Anyway, after an hour it's just a close skin scent and a slight vanillic note is coming through. Sillage, none. Projection, almost none. Lasting power? After three hours, there is almost nothing to detect. Neither on skin, nor clothes. I tested this in my clinic and usually patients complain or compliment about the scent I'm wearing. This time I oversprayed with 10 pumps, but not a single one noticed anything particular. My coworkers said I smelled pretty, but it's underwhelming. Not bad, but not memorable either. Wearing the Og signature, many asked me what I was wearing... I will hide this one away and wait for hotter days to retry it, then I will update here. Until then : If you like a pretty scent, that's inoffensive and office appropriate, this might be the one.

Tried this today and it very much reminds me of Michael Kor's Gorgeous which I tried last week. The opening is greener though and it's a lighter scent at all stages of the drydown. It's also much less woody than Gorgeous and of course there's no tobacco in this one: overall it has fewer facets. It's a nice scent but ultimately I feel that it lacks individuality. It feels somehow like Gorgeous' younger sister who hasn't quite yet come into her own. I see other reviewers have suggested affinities to Libre, Fame and Daisy. I don't get Libre vibes from this fragrance (which is a good thing to me) nor any resemblance to Daisy but I do think that there's a tropical lactonic nuance here that creates a similar vibe to Fame.

I don’t like the OG at all, but this? Yesss please! She reminds me of Paco Rabanne Fame, but richer and silkier (and a much nicer presentation). This is literally nothing like the original in any way. Not sure why they made this a flanker at all, but I’m here for it. She’s not groundbreaking, but she’s a pleasant improvement on a lot of scents in her category just on the strength of longevity and projection. Edit: over time, the Ylang Ylang became the star of the show. Unfortunately I am not a fan of this yellow floral. She's been rehomed.

sneezing inducer, I was hoping in a more intense version of Signature which I love, I got cold-symptoms/headache inducing fragrance. I waited few months hoping in a change but no, it's still like a drill into my brain through my nostrils, I'll wait a little longer, maybe I'll layer it with a thick layer of vanilla or rose.. I don't know, shame I bought the bigger bottle, disappointed.

Creamy sweet florals with a lot of tonka. Slightly sickly to me despite also being quite pretty. Sadly this one has the synthetic fixant that seems to be in all new perfumes that smells like tar to me, so it’s unwearable. If this one was too sickly for you but you enjoyed the dominant ylang, the Body Shop Full Ylang is similar but with less sweetness :)

It contains pear but it smells like melon to me, that's why I don't like it. The longevity and sillage are pretty bad; even if it gets better as it dries down, it doesn't matter because you can't smell it after an hour anyway. Also, there is something about it that reminds me of grandmothers, I don't know what it is.

One word. Pungent. Brand new. Probably needs to settle first. Smells like a mature or 80s spoiled spicy amber fragrance... Nothing tropical or summery about it. This doesn't seem right and doesn't mention any notes of Amber... I double checked the name and it's the right one here. Did I get a bad batch?

disappointed. I guess you need to be a ylang fanatic. on me I’m initially reminded of shampoo. then it gets a teensy bit tropical. no bananas for me (I do love banana scent). it’s a very light, shampoo ylang which vanishes in under 3 hours.

Had high hopes with this one, but unfortunately this fragrance was not for me. This fragrance has a sour quality that is overpowering, it is sharp to the point that I had to ask the sales associate to facilitate rubbing alcohol just to mitigate the stench. A few moments later I ended up with nausea and a headache. I've only had that same exact reaction with a few fragrances like Paloma Picasso, Elizabeth Arden's Red Door, Carolina Herrera, and Chloe Narcisse. This flanker is vile.

You know that feeling when you’re on a warm, crowded bus and the nausea slowly creeps in as it keeps stopping and going, turning corners over and over? That’s exactly what this fragrance reminds me of. The sharp sweetness just makes everything worse! I usually enjoy sweet scents, but this one is overwhelming to the point of being nauseating. If someone wore this close to me, I’d be dizzy 😵💫 So yeah this blind buy went straight in the trash.
