I acquired a bottle of this quite early on in my fragrance journey. This scent was my first time smelling prominent rose and cypriol in a scent. It was very challenging for me to understand at the time. I immediately labeled it “powdery” and “animalic”. It gathered dust in my fragrance drawer. I picked it up occasionally and smelled it off the atomizer. Something drew me to it, even before I understood it. Fast forward one and a half years in my fragrance journey. I can understand this much better now, and- WOW- I’m so glad I can appreciate this now. Beautiful orange/tangerine opening. And ginger too. I don’t love to talk about notes too much, but this scent has such a defined evolution on skin. The bright opening transitions smoothly into a light rose. This scent has a beautiful floral heart. Quickly the florals give way to the impression of powder. The heart/mid is the scents most feminine phase. Everything at this point has so much depth. You can smell the darker base creeping in, florals still floating around. This has an undeniably middle-eastern influence, without being overly cloying and strong. I used to think that I needed to reserve this for the coldest days, and while I wouldn’t go around wearing this in 80 degree (Fahrenheit) heat, I am excited to see how this behaves in the heat. It is surprisingly transparent. The closer your nose gets to where you sprayed it, the darker it appears. The only complaint I have with Moresque as a brand is the circular plaque on my bottle. The four “gems” on the plaque all fell out during shipping. The plaque has stains from glue on it. Even if the gems had stayed in place, it still would have looked messy and thrown together. It’s a shame, because the 50ml bottle is beautiful. The cap is heavy despite being small. The atomizer might literally be the best in my collection. To me, this scent showed me the journey you can go on with blind-buying. Don’t give up on scents you don’t understand. Let them sit. Let your taste change. Try it again in 3 months, or a new season. You might find a new appreciation and love for something. Easily a 9 out of 10 for me.

I bought a sample to wear myself because I was so curious about it, and I have to say, I would probably not wear it myself: it is far too strong for me. But any future partners can expect to be gifted this at some point because I loved the scent. I want to regularly borrow a hoodie that smells like this.

It reminds me of my past life😉 Candles wax, an old bookcase, a decaying green garden, with roses of various kinds. A melancholic dandy.

Byron is a woody blend with warm spices. It opens up with a hint of citruses but settles down quite quickly into warm and pleasant mix of flowers with a sweetness from Vanilla in the base. This is “easy niche”, really safe, versatile and crowd pleasing. In the opening it feels male leaning but after 15 minutes it’s totally unisex. The notes which are prominent on my skin are the citrus mix and spices for the first 5 minutes and after that Jasmine, Cardamom, Vanilla and Sandalwood. The feeling which I get from this is more easygoing designer than unique niche. It’s not a bad thing but for me a little bit too simple and ordinary. I don't feel charming when wearing this one, not attractive, s*xy, cozy, confident, melancholy etc either. This doesn't evoke any kind of emotions on me which leaves it distant and redundant. I didn't want to smell it on my husband's skin either so I gave it away. I don't like this enough to make longer review. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. This particular fragrance was a blind buy, chosen primarily for two reasons: 1. I was trying to decide which Moresque fragrance to add to my collection first. 2. Out of all the Moresque bottles, Byron instantly stood out with its elegant presentation. Of course, I did my best to predict how this fragrance might smell based on the official note pyramid—because there are certain genres I have zero interest in collecting or wearing. The notes sounded right up my alley, and when I found it for a great price through an online discounter, I took the leap. First and foremost: I’m not disappointed with this purchase. Will I wear it often? Probably not. But let’s start with the presentation. The bottle is stunning in person—hefty, understated, and crafted with an artisanal feel. That alone earns points. The scent, however, took me by surprise. This is a loud, spicy, Middle Eastern-style fragrance, opening with a zingy citrus bite and a noticeable sweetness that persists through the entire wear. I expected something more quiet, woody, and perhaps a bit bitter—likely because of comparisons I read to Apex and Oud Wood. This is not that. Byron leans more toward a crowd-pleasing, “smell-like-a-million-bucks” kind of fragrance. It’s bold, luxurious, and very likable—something that would work well dressed up for special occasions. You will get noticed, and likely receive compliments, if that’s your goal. To be transparent: I don’t yet have much experience with Byron compared to other fragrances I’ve reviewed, and my perception of scents often evolves over time (which, frankly, is one of the most fun aspects of being a fraghead). So I may return to update this review as I get to know it better.

Powerful bitter zesty Citrus with the slight Ginger quick minute opening, get the relaxed Moresque Taif Saffron Musk type accord, vague woods, not peppery, not powderry, no separate notes really detectable. A calm particular mature smoothness build up wit the slight somewhat oriental to it, but more artistic. Again a courteous unpretentious pick, so unique and sooo memorable.

Very addictive fragrance. In the vein of TF Oud Wood. Very elegant and formal for dressed up occasions.

Blind bought this one but didn't like it at all. Reminded me of dill crisps. Gave the bottle away.
