Sumatra Rain

I had this when it was first released in the 90s, purchased from duty free on a cross channel ferry, never see it for sale anywhere in the uk. it was my go to, along with PR XS and Chevignon Brand for men. I used most of it over a 10 year period but, but when I checked it a couple of years ago it had gone bad and smelled like cat pee. I was gutted as it's no longer available, it was a great cheapy. Closest I've found to it is roberto cavalli paradise found but, it doesn't have the same punch.

I remember having my eyes on it around 1995. I tried it several times as a teenage girl and then I realized it was meant for men (ok, I was a bit of a tomboy). I ended up not buying it but I regret it now. I cannot really recall what it smelt like but based on the notes, it was a rather exotic blend compared to the fresh/aquatic type that was all the hype back then.

It was one of my first after shave lotion as teenager. Good smell for late '80s but since then I haven't saw it again on any shop shelf.

Green salad with black currant and watermelon. Has that Givenchy Insense Ultramarine vibe. Projects within an arm length. Staying power on clothes is pretty good, up to 5 days.

My husband still has an almost full bottle of this fragrance, but does not uses it (thank god). I don ́t know if the fragrance got bad with time and exposure to heat but it smells like an Axe deodorant. The opening is really bad, it has that bad 80 ́s vibe and do not smell anything like a rain forest in Sumatra, it is more like an abandoned suburb. It is just a pungent, cheap citrusy smell. Later on, i must say, it gets better. It starts to smell more green, but still, nothing that would remind me of a tropical jungle. It is just a green spiciness, without the depth i would expect from a forest. About the flowers: i do not get any one them. Not even for one second. The sweetness from the tonka bean isn ́t there either. For me, this one is no go.
