Alien Édition Talisman

Although this is an EDP, it's not a strong perfume on me and the longevity is quite poor (my skin chemistry does tend to do this to perfumes though). This is a beautiful, sensitive perfume that I can wear even in the summer and for daytime wear. I am not usually a fan of Jasmine notes, but here it is stunning and delicate with that Mugler depth and mystery that I also get in Aura. It's not quite as polarising as Aura as it doesn't have that wintergreen note but the soft, non-resinous amber in the base still has a very slight edible, creamy but medicinal quality that is distinctive. I really enjoy this and don't have another perfume like it from a very large collection of quite unusual ones. This is the same as the usual Alien EDP, just a 10th anniversary edition and the actual notes are: Top - Sambac Jasmine, Middle - Cashmeran Wood, Base - White Amber.

Hi all, Having checked Mugler's official website, there's no mention of solar notes. Notes are exactly the same as the regular Alien frag. However, upon trying both Alien (original EDP) and Alien Edition Talisman, they clearly don't smell the same, which is confusing. I actually prefer Talisman's smoother and silky-soft rendition. Same gorgeous, masterfully crafted jasmine - just warmer and more delicate. Impossible to find any info clarifying whether Talisman is a flanker or simply the repackaged Alien in a fancy bottle, unfortunately.

There's absolutely no difference between Alien and Talisman. To my untrained, layman, peasant nose, anyway. Both are amazing Jasmine-amber concoctions. Really beautiful scent! Wearable to work and the opare, if you want to. Very inoffensive and versatile! Maintains good performance and a stable quality on my skin which speaks to a good quality ingredience and formulation.

I've tried to review the original alien but I can't. For some reason the page just won't load on fragrantica??? What a masterpiece! ❤️ For a perfume with just 3 notes this is magnificent! There are no other perfumes like it out there. It is a marmite fragrance, you either love it or you hate it and I am a lover! I love the bottle, the dark but intoxicating scent and the fact that it lasts for hours and is unmistakable. Once you have smelt alien, you will always recognise it! I also own angel muse. The original angel doesn't work for me and muse is only good for me on clothes. It doesn't quite go with my chemistry. Please please never ever discontinue this fragrance! I'm not a jasmine perfume fan, but with the cashmere and Amber this is truly beautiful and I will always own at least 2 bottles 😁

Solar notes? Who smelled space? Who smelled the sun? Or the moon? I looked up solar notes and it's not in the data base. Please add because we all want to know what solar smells like. Solar lol....and who voted it in???? Who has smelled solar????????? Next we will see notes like "telephone waves". This perfume smells like cable, with a hint of 4g, with a smidgen of germs. Sure...I'm being funny.....but really. ..I wanna know what solar smells like.

@sunnynphilly people who buy this are not exactly interested in new fragrances or versions of the same fragrance. They are probably lovers of a specific one (in this case, Alien), and want to keep wearing the same fragrance (maybe with sly alterations, so is not COMPLETELY boring), and if it comes with the twist of a new bottle, hey, that's fine for them.

Muglerusa.com says this is the simply Alien EDP: "To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this legendary perfume, Alien Eau de Parfum by Thierry Mugler is now available in a limited edition Talisman bottle." It also doesn't claim this has the (frankly stupid) "solar notes." Beautiful bottle, though.

It's the same fragrance: the fragrance is a soliflore, meaning it has a single flower ingredient; jasmine. There is no "solar" note. It's the 10th anniversary limited edition 40ml talisman with a pedestal.

Update! The solar note is purely a mistake :) it's just alien with a different bottle. Nothing wrong with that! Alien is great!

Same scent in a slightly different bottle. Amazing fragrance.
