Alien Hypersense

I'm becoming a little more forgiving toward Mugler, maybe because I've embraced the heartache that is the change post-Loreal. I do love D.Ropion...and so I did try to keep an open perspective while testing this. Going into it...we know that it's not going to be OG Alien. It just isn't. And calling it "Hyper" anything is a weird choice, because you cannot add to Alien or make any element more *hyper* than it already is with it's earth-stopping Indian jasmine. So...whatever, the title is meaningless. What this is though, is a decent spinoff actually. Which, I'm surprised to say because I'm a diehard fangirl of the original pillars. The drydown is less...blunt force sex, and more rounded. The soft musky woods (or whatever, God and Mr.Ropion only know the aromachemicals) do serve to fluff out, and soften the drydown. However, the opening is actually at least 80% similar to my nose with the sambac jasmine and the tone of cashmeran throughout. This is a little soapier though, which I've noticed anyway with the current L'Oréal Alien as it is. Less dizzyingly indolic as my cherished old stuff (and that element is what I live for with Alien most of all). There's a hint of something like rice water too. I really cannot understand where that's coming from, but it's kind of starchy and sweet. Alien Hypersense and the current Alien are both still worth getting, and this is better than many releases on the market. Nothing has the Mugler punch it used to...so it's time to let it go...but objectively this really is beautiful and Ropion did a great job. So, I love this. I don't LOVE *love* it like I do Millennial hayday Alien, but it still is gorgeous and at the very least I'm glad there's a b*tchin white floral on store shelves even today. *ETA - This is still on my hoodie, and has a lovely musky, sensuality about it...but cleanly so. It's grown on me even more.

You don’t get to own Britney Spears Curious - then come tell me that Dominique Ropion’s nose created something too vile, dated etc etc. Unless you are a pre-teen or teenager, surely you would have developed some sort of olfactory nuance to appreciate all types of fragrances for what they are, what they could be. Don’t wear Alien to the club you say? You mean THE Alien that reigned Queen back when clubbing was still something people enjoyed, danced at, in sky high heels, phones away, music pumping! Yeah, no - sorry, you clearly know nothing. Now onto the review - this is the lightened, slightly fruitier version on Alien. Beautifully blended and the pear notes will catch you at random times, especially if you spray behind the ears. It’s so unexpected. If sprayed on the wrists - you are more likely to experience the stronger jasmine hit. There is something so beautiful about this fragrance and I can’t quite describe it. Definitely blooms with some warmth in the air. Mid spring, early summer for sure, lighter hand with it for the latter. A wedding comes to mind, in the evening in a park, flowers in full bloom around the arch, spring, subtle warmth and glow on your skin. The reception is happening later and you have a lush magenta gown to change into. Ugh, so perfect! Strong staying power and the dry down is seductive, warm, alluring, never too much. It’s sweet! I’ve never described the OG Alien as sweet, but this one - it’s there, it’s so hard to describe. But then again how can I capture something that’s out of this world. See what I did there ;) Please experience this one yourself, sample it and it will likely sweep you away into a different galaxy. Okay okay I’ll stop now!

I honeslty don't know why this is rated so low Personally, I really like this one! To me, Hypersense is like the sweet lemon iced tea version of OG Alien. It's sweet, but way less thick and dense, and it's almost refreshing. There's also something in Hypersense that reminds me of the addictive drydown in Alien Goddess Intense (one of my new faves from this year), and I love it. It's not nearly as strong in Hypersense, but it's still there. I keep catching whiffs of it, and it's divine. Performance-wise, Hypersense does really well for me. I get about 4-6 ft of sillage, and it lasts for about 6 hrs on skin & over 12 hrs on clothes. The scent is way less dense than OG Alien, and it's not a suffocating-type of presence. I would say Hypersense is definitely one of the more crowd-pleasing entries in the Alien line. Edit-- Had to come back to add a little blurb. I just added some more sprays onto the ones from before, and I noticed something different. While it's drying down, there's this weird chameleon effect, where it shifts between jasmine tea, Alien OG, and candied fruits & cashmere woods. It's kinda like the scent version of duochrome, where it looks/smells different from different angles...?? Idk how to explain it, but it's really interesting. Maybe that's why the bottle looks the way it does -- bc the scent reflects it and has distinct layers that weave in and out. I only noticed it after layering this on top of itself / overspraying a bit.

Alien Hypersense opens with a bright, electric burst that feels like someone plugged the original Alien jasmine into a neon power source. It’s fruity, green, and solar all at once - a pink‐green flash that hits the skin with voltage rather than warmth. There’s a juiciness here, but it’s not syrupy; it’s alive, almost effervescent, like jasmine petals lit from behind by a warm sun. The jasmine is recognisably Alien, but not the molten, metallic beam of the EDP. Here it’s lighter, sharper, more kinetic - a jasmine that moves instead of glows. The green facets keep it bright and airy, while the fruity notes give it a soft, playful sweetness that never turns sticky. As it settles, Hypersense becomes a warm‐skin aura: soft musk, gentle amber, and a lingering fruity brightness that feels like sunlight on bare shoulders. It’s fresher than any Alien has a right to be, but it never collapses into the watery, pastel territory of the weaker flankers. It still has character, still has presence, still feels like an Alien - just rewritten in light instead of heat. Longevity: 6–7 hours Projection: moderate, with a bright opening flash Best for: late Spring, Summer, early Autumn (warm days), daytime, “I want to feel alive and luminous” moods. Feels like sunlight hitting skin. Hypersense & Alien EDT - My go-to summer Aliens. If the original Alien is a solar goddess, Hypersense is her electric daughter - bright, radiant, and unmistakably alive.

this is a LOVELY perfume. at first spray, i started to worry that this would be a stereotypical department store perfume, but when you let her sit for a little while, she'll start to surprise you. this fragrance goes through distinctly different phases. the initial spray is clean, fruity, and citrusy; then afterwards, you start to smell more of the woody notes, and then all of the sudden jasmine and white florals come in and overtake the scent for the next hour. afterwards, it settles back down into a woody, slightly sweet, incredibly pleasant olifactory experience. i adore her more each time i spray her. on me, this perfume lasts around nine hours. the sillage is intimate, only radiating out at arms length, which i personally prefer. since she's not a beast mode perfume, i can safely take her to work with me without having to worry about putting anyone off, but she's also a unique enough fragrance to me that i can enjoy her without feeling like i smell like everyone else in the world. and she comes in a fun, colorful, interesting bottle that will be lots of fun to display! overall, i'm a huge fan.
