Alien Pierre Initiatique Edition

Okay, so...like others here in the comment section, I purchased this thinking it was just a travel size. I wanted the original Alien formulation instead of the new soapier version, and I actually went through eBay to acquire this fragrance, which kind of sketched me out. The packaging was gorgeous, and the smell divine...but it doesn't smell exactly the way I remembered it to. I started to worry that maybe I bought a fake, but it smells so good and has so much depth to it, with amazing longevity, so I wondered if maybe it really was the original but that the scent had changed a little over the years? Either way, it appeals to me a lot more than the current Alien being sold in stores. I accidentally (and just now) stumbled upon this listing on Fragrantica...I compared my bottle to the image and the descriptions (both official and in the comment section) and sure enough, it seems to be my mystery is solved! Although I tried doing a search on this release I could hardly find anything aside from this page, so who knows. Is this really a real thing?? If so, I guess I really lucked out!

Alien Pierre Initiatique Edition Mugler is a fascinating experience! I finally got my hands on this enigmatic 15 ml purple bottle of happiness and I am in heaven (or in space)!! This is definitely Alien the way Alien smelled way back when. I have two 30 ml of the Original Alien, one 30 ml of Le Goût du Parfum (Alien) and I cherish them and use them sparingly because it is difficult to find them now and let me tell you, I love them all so much!!!!! Pierre Initiatique is slightly sweeter and slightly more amber-y than Alien OG. It still has all of OG Alien’s strong notes and it is just beautiful and I will treasure it as well. I can only say that this is definitely worth the wait but hey, for a fan of such an iconic fragrance, it was all worth it! I am h-a-p-p-y!

I have this and it was sold to me as a travel fragrance, I didn't know it smells any different to the original. The bottle had a plastic cap if tainted by the alcohol from the perfume might change color and become patchy. but that's besides the point cos the fragrance is fantastic! I love the sweet heady fragrance of Alien - this remains my fav perfume of all time.

I bought this because I thought it was the travel size only 15 ml ,but it was definitely different,if you are an alien fan you can just tell immediately,I didn’t know this was a special edition otherwise I wouldn’t used it up ,cause I like this more than the original and it’s way more strong the projection and sillage ,now I’m sad that my bottle is empty 🥺

As Innocent stated, I too bought this as a purse spray, refillable. I didn't know it had different notes. It might explain why I like it more than the original Alien. It's a beautiful fragrance.

This is like a mix between alien edp and alien essence absolue, but I like it better than either of those. It's like the perfect middle ground, not as grapey as alien edp but not quite as custardy as essence absolue. Just the right balance of flowers and vanilla. I love this edition! You could probably replicate it by layering alien edp and essence absolue though.
