Madhawi

Fragrance Notes Top Notes : Citrus. Middle Notes : Oudh, Coriander, Amyris. Base Notes : Musk, Leather. This was a blind buy so I wrote this review to help. The notes taken from the Nabeel's website are simpler than those of Fragantica, maybe the perfume has been reformulated because the box has a sticker that says "New Edition", by the way the presentation (box and bottle) are really beautiful and elegant. Because of the combination citrus-oud-leather, Madhawi has similarities in the opening and drydown with other Nabeel perfumes such as Diyaa and Marble (not in Fragantica's database) but they are not the same. Diyaa is a bit more flowery (like the smell of an expensive women's handbag) and Marble is some more complex and a little bit sweeter. Anyway, they all three are different, like variations on a same theme. The Madhawi's spicy leathery drydown is very beautiful and alluring, it feels fresh all the time and the leather note does not become overwhelming. It is one of those few leather perfumes suitable for summer weather. It can be worn by men and women but IMHO it tends more to the masculine side, unlike Diyaa that is more feminine. If I have to mention a point of reference with western perfumery, maybe some Acqua di Parma like Colonia Oud or Colonia Leather have some similarities in the main effect but they don't smell the same. In conclusion, Madhawi is an excellent attar, long lasting like most of Nabeel oils, with moderate sillage and the low price has nothing to do with the high quality of the perfume.

juanpablol's review is very much on point, I get the same reference of ADP Colonia Leather which I really liked, this in my opinion is superior. A really enjoyable scent, does lean more leather and masculine, but the leather is done so smoothly, it never gets old. The experience is fairly linear, which is good, no surprises. It lasts all day and tapers off gently. the citrus and floral notes that live with the leather are delicious, never overbearing and make the over all tone very bright, it's not a dark leather, and definitely not a new car scent type I smell in many designer fragrances. If anything the leatheriness is more like a saffron. I truly enjoy this oil! I have been complemented on it. It's closing in on my top five
