Espiritu Pirata

This perfume belongs, according to its website, to the "Woodland Ecosystem". It is an inspiring perfume, the kind of perfume that makes you travel, geographically, and in time. It is a very lasting sweet perfume. It truly takes me to a forgotten pirate ship or an imaginary museum where all I can see is old maps, leather objects, wood chests just opened, rum bottles with the sweet smell of sugar cane. It is warm and spicy, but it is also a happy perfume as if suddenly I was again very young girl enjoying sea-sailing adventures tales far away in time. The first notes make me discover a very sweet rum, that after some seconds let other notes appear, like ylang-ylang and orange blossom. There is a constant sweet scent added by blackcurrant, I love this note! Then vanilla starts its own entrance, sandalwood, and other notes that are spicy, including oils and resins that I had not smelled before, probably ximenia and pequi. This is the kind of perfume that I enjoy wearing in the afternoon, evening, and night. Especially in a dull, rainy weather. It brings joy and spice and I was complimented several times while wearing it. I will wear on Christmas's evening while relaxing with friends and family. It's a dose of exhilaration that is very very welcome!

I have some samples of this perfume. It lasts 4 hours in medium intensity and afterwards you can have it on the skin for another 3 - 4 hours. This perfume is a pure olfactory sensation of what it wants to represent us. You close your eyes The touches of waxed wood will make you feel on the deck of a ship. You walk and go down to the wineries where the rum barrolis let the aroma liquor spread, a dark and sweet rum with cocoa and honey, it also has vanilla, which gives the aroma a feminine and sensual part to this aroma ... magnificent . I love the aromas with that part of liquor, it is sensual, it is fun, personal and with a unique character. Of course the floral composition that accompanies it makes it have many small nuances.

In 2014, the perfumer Nadia Zuodar created the fragrances called Espíritu Pirata (Pirate Spirit), in two versions: one aimed at the male audience, and this one, for the female audience. Both are part of the Ecosystems - Woodland collection and revive the era of spice trading across the seas, sailing with pirates from the Malay Peninsula. The creative concept tries to recreate the explosion of scents in the holds of the ships, a mixture of the sweetness of the rum, spices and the strong smell of the woods of their vessels. In the composition of this version were put together notes of Martinique rum, mimosa, orange blossom, lotus, ylang-ylang, black currant, patchouli, Australian precious woods (Massoia and sandalwood), tonka beans, vanilla, cocoa, honey, beeswax and indigenous oils (Ximenia and Pequi). At first sight, little changed: apart from the vanilla, more flowers came in and some woody notes came out. The result demonstrates the care in maintaining the same DNA but brings a more gourmand and floral fragrance, much less woody and spicy than the male version. It is not a classic "floriental", because it also has an alcoholic start, but anyone who likes this style will like to meet Espíritu Pirata Woman. When touching the skin, a floral and sweet explosion unfolds under the nostrils. There is a lot of mimosa and orange blossom presence as if a bouquet were sprayed daily, not with pure water, but with rum. And these flowers, once dried, would have their petals stored in a container and carefully transformed into a perfumed pot-pourri. As the hours go on, Espíritu Pirata Woman gains nuances reminiscent of liqueur almonds, thanks to the presence of vanilla, together with tonka beans and honey. At this stage, the fragrance is less innovative but more comfortable and welcoming. And so it remains until the end. While the male version was created to portray the smell of pirate ships, after days in the sea, this feminine fragrance leads me to imagine what could be the smell of the bars and, above all, of the women who with the pirates would relate in exchange for a coin of gold or some other gift. The floral scent exhaling from their pores, while the smell of rum and spices was impregnated in the garments, the hair and even on the skin of men. You may not even be a fan of tales of the pirate lifestyle, but their legends of treasures, mermaids, and sea monsters have traversed the centuries and been bottled in this perfume.
