Metamorphose Lilas Night

The fragrance of Métamorphose Lilas was created in 2014 in two distinct versions: one for the day and more aimed at the female audience and another for the night, designed for both genres. A year later (2015) the perfumer launched two more versions under the same theme, called Métamorphose Lilas Cuir and Métamorphose Lilas Pink. Different from the daytime version, this one is part of the Ecosystems - Gobi (Spiritual) collection, but both the scenery and the concept remain the same: to portray the blossoming of the flowers in the first rays of the sun after the harsh winter in the snowy steppe of Bulgaria, showing the metamorphosis in the landscape and in the other forms of life. The fragrance of Métamorphose Lilas Night also carries much of the version made for the day, however, it gained much more personality and power with the insertion of the notes of Nagarmotha, OUD, and Frankincense. This time, the iris note is no longer part of the composition, which still contains lilac and lotus flowers, black tea, patchouli, tonka beans and woods (sandalwood and blue cypress). The indigenous oils of Ximenia and Ucuuba are also present, serving as the natural basis for the perfume. For those who do not know, Ximenia - also known as African sour plum - has an oil of honey-like consistency and helps prolong the duration on the skin; the Ucuuba generates a butter from its seeds with a strong woody content and the Nagarmotha (also known as Cypriol) is from the Cyperus family, as is the papyrus, and has a strong floral and leathery smell. On the skin, Métamorphose Lilas Night Unisex became an oriental-woody fragrance with a few touches of incense. The output is not as balsamic as before, the evolution is more durable and consistent and the base became more masculine and intriguing. This was the first duo from Nadia Z fragrances that I compared, side by side, and I did not feel the same DNA, nor the same story being told. For me, this perfume is much more connected to what I felt with the fragrances of the Woodland Collection (Espíritu Pirata for Man and for Woman) than with its version for daytime use. In fact, the only reason I see it as part of the Gobi (spiritual) collection is its smoky facet. Métamorphose Lilas Night has a great mix of woods and resins, with almondy and leathery nuances and a sweet and camphorated backdrop. In terms of innovation, the output has more impact than evolution, but that does not mean that the hook is lost halfway. The projection is very good and the lasting is much superior to that of the daytime version. It is the type of perfume for those who like woody fragrances with a rustic behavior and, I dare say, an old-school feeling. Without a doubt, a perfume of independent creation style, which is hypnotic, seductive and mysterious.

Metamorphose Lilas Night is a fragrance that’s surprisingly romantic, exotic, and a perfect merry of two culture. The beautiful lilac captures the culture of Japan, while frankincense takes you on an adventure to Egypt, honoring the origin of perfumery. It starts off with an almost metallically bright olibanum mix with lilac. It’s oddly pleasing to smell, because normally anything metallic really puts me off, however it doesn’t stay for too long so if you’re not into metallic you won’t have to worry. As it develops, the sweeter layer starts to pops out and the texture changes noticeably. The scent is now less bright and more rich and syrupy, like the texture of caramel, it’s thick and deliciously sweet. The sweetness is a well-rounded mixture of tonka bean, vanilla, and caramel. There’s a lot more going on than the sweet though, there are also some woody notes and some hints of the frankincense still present from the opening. A strange composition that oddly work together very well, and it makes me wonder what was the inspiration behind these mix and match of notes. It’s artistic and still practical to wear. Also undeniably unique even amongst the highest quality niche fragrances on the market. This fragrance lends itself to a romantic setting, it's very alluring and sensual, warm, delicious, and inviting. Great for special nights with your significant other or an evening meal at the finest restaurant. The performance is incredible, lasting at least 48 hours on clothes and over 10 hours on skin, ensuring that you would never have to reapply. Projection is also very generous. It definitely gets notice. Overall, performance is amazing. In conclusion, I’d say like what I’ll say for all the reviews for this house is that, this is at the very least a must try house for any fragrance enthusiast, especially if you’re someone who loves to discovery hidden gems of the world, this house will not only surprise you but introduce you to a whole new perspective of perfumery.
