Mittumaari

This is a dusty powder puff with the fragrance of violets. Very feminine, boudoir scent, that inspires thoughts about female scented lipstick. It is a very gentle and bodily perfume.

Her grandmother loved violet. As she looks into the mirror, she catches glimpses of features that remind her of her. The blue of her eyes, the slightly pointed nose, the form of her lips. She stares into the mirror and puts her silvery blonde hair up in a high bun. She opens the little drawer on her wooden vanity and reaches for a deep lilac lipstick. Slowly as it reaches her mouth, the powdery odors reach her nose and as she closes her eyes, vivid memories appear. A child laughing, a grandmother’s voice as she reads her favorite book, a strand of hair in front of the wise and lined face. She opens her eyes and smiles. A memory can be so powerful and above painted mental image formed in my thoughts while sniffing Nakuna mittumaari - a beautiful powdery sweet fragrance with vanilla, sandalwood in the base and violets in the heart. It reminds me of an old world, a porcelain designed lipstick that carries great value. I love violet in fragrances as it always has this effect on me. I love how it has that old world charm and is always accompanied by a powdery undertone. Mittumaari is a beautiful violet fragrance with underlying sandalwood and vanilla which become really prominent in the drydown. The vibrant florals dissipate and there lies a beautiful sweetness with the hints of powdery streaks where memories store themselves. And all we can do is listen to the odors and let ourselves be swept away by them.

I bought a sample kit including all 5 Nakuna fragrances. First sniffs of Minttumaari took me to the airports taxfree and it smelled like a mess of all those fragrances people try on. I didn’t like it at all. In an hour or so the scent had changed massively. Suddenly the odour is sweet, fresh and focused. Not a mess at all. Vanilla is easy to discover but I smell powdered sugar as well. After the initial shock Minttumaari is actually a quite pleasant and interesting fragrance. Spontaneous and surprising.
