Narciso Rodriguez Musc for Her

I went through a few of bottles of that as well as several other brands of egyptian musc. I still have half a full size bottle of this but it's well over a decade old at this point. It still smells the same but I feel like I should get around to using it again before it goes off. It's excellent to layer with. I used to wear this scent at night, it's really calming and comforting, it was really my first experience with using scent to affect mood. I didn't pay retail for these back in the day, but they were still pretty expensive. Nevertheless I bought several bottles because the other brands of egyptian musc oils I bought just weren't as nice and smooth. They smelled nice, but more animalic which I wasn't into at the time. Today it might be more my thing, come to think of it. This oil is very warm and musky, but still really clean and soft smelling, very nicely balanced. It sits close to the skin, which is a part of the reason I was so comfortable wearing it.

The comments below (EnglishCountryGarden comment) is accurate.. =D I really love the cool, fresh, non-sweet, icy-musk effects of this gorgeous fragrance.. =D It's soo perfect for hot / humid weather & inoffensive for office-wear.. ^^ The minus parts for me are : - it comes in oil formula which leaves slightly sticky feelings before it blends well into the skin.. - it's a very soft fragrance.. yes, it's lingers beautifully for a long time in my skin, but it's not too noticeable.. so i think it's more seductive for private occasion.. like dating or more intimate situation.. ^^ - The high price.. =( In my humble opinion, this could be used by Men too.. It is pleasantly sexy on Men.. ^^ Loved it on them, more than I love Creed Silver Mountain Water.. =D For handsome men who wear this, please come closer & spread your arms.. i will happily fall into your embrace.. *LOL* ^^

Oh mon dieu, this is a naughty one! But not an obvious girly sexyness, it ́s rather like a confident grown woman who seduces with a subtle gesture, a deep look or an incidental indication. It took me by surprise for I tested it at random thinking it would smell something like the original NR for her. At first the orange blossom is very strong; even close to annoying, but only for a couple of minutes. Afterwards the loveliest musc I have smelled so far is revealed, not the clean sweetish kind which seems to be quite popular in the perfume industry right now. Musc for her is a second skin scent. It is not the "out of shower" - musc, but the "out of your lovers bed" kind. ;o) Still I find it to be refined enough, so it can be worn as an everyday scent due to its subliminal sensuality. It ́s a shame that it is a limited edition and so hard to found!

Cool, clean, ultra-feminine, otherwordly. I imagine Venus smelled exactly like this when she emerged from the sea foam at her birth. I should never have even ordered a sample, because now I'm in love with a discontinued fragrance that's nearly impossible to find. I don't detect the woods or the vetiver in this, but I think they must be what makes this such a cool, fresh musk, instead of the usual warm, cuddly, top-of-a-baby's-head musk. Amber and vanilla keep it from smelling like laundry detergent. The few times I've test-driven it, I get absolutely no sillage, but I got a tiny sample and wasn't using very much, so I'm ordering a larger sample to see if using more works. Pretty decent longevity. If anyone has a bottle they'd like to swap or sell, send me a PM!

Love it and it is far better and sexier than pink sister (which is, in my opinion, generic). It is floral musk, not lactonic at all (I hate lactonic perfumes, they make me nauseous), but the blend is so creamy that I understand why some think it is lactonic. It has moderate sillage, but poor longevity, which I don't consider a problem; I would rather spray more than have a problem if it is overpowering. It is a scent you can wear in the office and on date nights. It is a pretty girl scent and one of the best musky scents, which is not expensive. It is for any occasion, for every season except maybe very hot weather.

This is the "skin but better" fragrance I have been looking for. When I smell this, I feel both comforted and excited like when I grab warm clothes out of the dryer. It perfectly combines sexiness with innocence. It seems to say "I'm hot, but I'm not even trying." I can't stop smelling my wrists when I dab this on. And the fragrance lasts all day! It smells like a clean and sweet human being. Note: Sometimes I can't smell this at all, so I sold my bottle of the oil. Now I wish I had it back because on days when I could smell it, it was the best musk ever. I always turned to it when I couldn't decide what to wear.

Recently I visited a perfume shop, and there can be found all along Narciso fragrance smelling of course. It was interesting because it has not caught one of many, except this one. This fragrance is somehow stuck and followed all the way home. This is the first perfume that I feel has become almost a second bőrömmé. When I was blowing straight in a very nice, fine, but has developed a special scent, and when it subsided a bit, my skin has become incredibly delicate. As I wrote before me, a merging csodává skin was ... Very special, I have not encountered such a scent.

Ridicously expensive but so good! Of course, it doesn't cost Mr.Rodriguez 150 euro/50ml to produce! I never purchased it but I tried so many times from testers. Only a little drop at once and layered with EdT: divinely musky and not skanky/dirty! I love the orange blossom & Egyptian Musk combo: highly inspirational, gracefully feminine, confortably elegant. Will I buy it? No. Too much money for a very light fragrance and after all a synthetical oil. If I could ever find an Egyptian Musk Oil thgat smells like this... for much less!

Addictive. Expensive. The note which lingers longest is cucumber. Yes indeed, cool, fresh, non-sweet, cut in thin scrummy slices and placed all over the body. However long the ice-musk lasts (and it does), the cucumber stays side by side with it. It is an incredibly "clean" smell without being too "detergent", just sweet, freshly washed skin. Picture pretty girls emerging from the surf in the south of france, and that just about sums up this fragrance.

This smells amazing on me. No plastic scent at all. Straight up heavy cream with vanilla, a tinge of amber for added sweetness and the vetiver and musk to make it all last. Such a creamy lactonic scent that smells so comforting but expensive! The floral notes are way behind the scenes and do not overpower everything else but its discreet presence adds to the beauty of this fragrance. Signature scent worthy.

This juice ties a man's tongue in knots! I was at a lecture, wearing this wonder, and whenever the lecturer came near me he started mixing up his words! He actually stated that he needed to stay away from my chair! I'm only mildly cute so it must have been NR musc oil. Three others wandered close during a break and told me I smelled great.

This is probably the best musk for women that I've ever tried (and I've tried quite a few). It's floral, but not ultra-floral; it is clean, but not "laundry clean"; it is not dirty and I do not smell anything plasticky in it, contrary to some reviews. It is really perfect - this is what a woman should smell like)

I have the ’musc oil for her’ version. Almost forgot I had it and dug it out recently. Smells so much like the musk my Egyptian neighbour used to wear. Only the tiniest dab is needed, it’s a scent to be enjoyed in close quarters. Lovely to wear after a candle lit bath.

This is the only fragrance so far, that partly reminds me of a certain Egyptian Musk oil I used to love many years ago. I am still searching for that scent and this will keep me busy while I find it. I didn't smell any cucumber and I didn't smell any wood really.

Perfect scent for any time. Soft musk with orange blossom, osmanthus and I'd say violet and peach. Delicate, gentle, light, inoffensive, relaxing, discretely present. It puts a smile on my face. It shall be bought:)

i have the feeling throughout the years that this is the BEST musk i ever tried, hands down and believe me, i ve tried them all,, very expencive, but its really worth it...

Unfortunately, on my skin, this ends up smelling like bathroom air freshener 😭😭😭 I am so sad about it because Narciso has A M A Z I N G perfumes out there!!! This particular one just does not agree with my skin. Definitely worth trying a sample!!

I love Narciso Rodriguez for her edt (black bottle), so I was excited to try this version. For some reason, it smells like scotch tape on me! Does anyone else get that plastic-y, almost medicinal smell?

It smelled like a pleasant and clean musk at first. Then it started to smelled like glue or plastic. I think it could be a nice scent if it works with your skin chemistry.

i tried this knowing that i was not at all the target audience for this scent considering I hate musk but when i was picking up my medication at my local drug store and i saw a tester for this i thought how terrible could this *really* be? the answer: absolutely disgusting. it opened with a slightly fresh floral and i thought i might actually like it but after a small while it just turned to musk. there’s no orange blossom or vanilla, there’s no fruity or sweet accords. it’s just straight musk. it smells like someone’s grandma. it smells a bit cheap too. it’s just.. eeeugh. i knew i wouldn’t like this but i didn’t know id hate it this much lol. good if you love musk though! really really good longevity. i washed my hands multiple times and woke up the next day and it’s still on me

Just wanted to pop by to say their website notes are different: AMBERGRIS & PATCHOULI are listed, but this is for the one w/ the pink nameplate and string around the top (2013), while both the note pyramids are the same on Fragrantica? Bit confusing... I don't know whether this one is the same but just older bottle? Can't find mention of it on their site since this one's not to be found there anymore, can anyone speak from trying both? I see this 2007 one was 'limited edition' so safe to assume 2013 one is just a reissue? If anyone knows I'd love a pm as I'm shopping for it but want to be sure there's a difference, since I can find this one cheaper used but not the one w/ pink string. Here's what it says (from Bergdorf's) about the one w/ the pink string: "A sensual oil built around the heart of musc: enhanced with floral accords and intensified with ambergris and patchouli." UPDATE: Just found this from Perfume Shrine blog spot about this scent!: "Beware the confusion as this is a completely different scent: this is pure Egyptian musc lacking the floral tone (orange blossom) and alcoholic sharpness of the Eau de Toilette as well as the patchouli-woods base. The scent is the softest, most erotic thing one could wish for in the "clean" lightly powdery musks genre and although it is based on Abdoul Karim's Egyptian Musk oil that Caroline Besette Kennedy ~who was the friend and muse after which Narciso Rodriguez created his fragrance~ was buying off the streets of Manhattan, it smells very upscale." So according to that site, no orange blossom and no vetiver/patch here, as opposed to the one w/ pink string (w/ ambergris and patch) OR the EDT/EDP's. Whew! How confusing, no?

In answer to pravda48 - the bottle displayed is the original Musc Oil For her, which I think was released in 2007. The re-release was issued in 2013 and has the Pink Text insert on the bottle (original does not). I have both versions, and prefer my older original release. The original has better staying power, and is a perfectly balanced mix of musk, orange blossom, a touch of sweetness (not too much), and a hint of powder, but not like a 'dated' baby powder. I have the Abdul Karim's Egyptian Musk oil that Caroline B. Kennedy wore, and they are quite similar. To my nose, I think the NR is a tad more elegant/refined than the Abdul Karim Musk. I'll admit, the way NR names his fragrances is confusing, even to the most seasoned of perfume collectors and the frequency to which he adds to the line doesn't help matters... I'd suggest purchasing the body cream (glass container), it smells closest to the original Musc Oil for Her (2007 release) and it has excellent staying power, no need to wear the oil as it's deeply scented.

Very intimate, natural and just better than your skin type of smell. This oil is very beautiful and thick , drips out slowly so it lasts for a while , very beautiful musky scent similar to the black edt and especially similar if not identical to the musk intense in the salmon colur irredecent bottle. I was told the oil was discontinued and replaced with the musk intense irredecent spray as it is easier to use and more of a perfume feel and longer lasting but with the same smell. I do believe that to be true , I do not notice a difference in the smell but the musk intense indeed is more convenient and much more more intense, both wonderful and I am happy to have both. The oils is nice for a base so the other Narcisos last longer. I think they should have kept the oil on the market for that reason although you can layer the musk intense the same way as you can the oil. Great smell!!! I love it for nighttime in bed just one drop is very comforting relaxing and intimate.

I got this on eBay and put it on a few hours ago and it STILL smells terrific, and sexy in a sensual way. If someone got next to you, they would tell you that you smell good instead of remarking on your fragrance. It has a warm, but not cloying musky, rosy smell on me. What can I say? I love it! I was nervous as this was a blind buy b/c I read that Asia Argento wears it and I think she's gorgeous and compelling. One of my favorite actresses. Perhaps it's a silly reason to try a scent but maybe there is a deeper connection between things and people I like. EDIT: I stand by how long this lasts. The first day I got it, my other scent had faded so I put this on. I could smell it on me the next day! It continues to stay on my skin for a long time. Maybe it's because it's an oil and it blends well with my skin type.

This 2007 limited edition it said to be inspired Abdoul Karim's Egyptian Musk oil sold on the street in New York and worn by Caroline Besette Kennedy, Narciso’s muse (picture 2). ⁠ ⁠ Sarah Jessica Parker was also inspired by this same musk for her Lovely. ⁠ ⁠ It’s a thick, pure clean white musk, in fact a body musk, without the floral notes of the For Her perfumes. ⁠ ⁠ There are many forms of body musk, and I was told these are used in Islamic cultures to have the sensation of cleanliness before prayer. ⁠ ⁠ Personally I think this is good quality for a designer, it smells refined, like a hot sexy clean body.⁠ ⁠ I use it on it’s own, but mainly I use it under my other Narciso’s. ⁠

@Ladyleks For sure. There's a significant difference between the EDT that's still available everywhere, and this one, which is rare and will cost you a pretty penny on resale (whether or not that's worth it, is a discussion for the entire scroll lol). I think this is even the first version of the body oil. There was at least one other body oil that came after this. Heads up to reviewers, check other listings to make sure you are in the right place :)

Truly a masterpiece that has seen better times. I own it because my mother gifted to me but I cannot stand it anymore. Seems like an old magician that has no other trick to show but still manages to get invited to A-list events. I feel like the right word is outdated. It has to be said that if you wear this everyone in the room will know that you are there. And that you're wearing Narciso. You decide if it is for the good or for the bad.

I have a decant of the musc intense and I find it really similar to NR for her edp with the occasional whiff of musk- a cool and icy musk (musk is usually warm). Would say it's very wearable, not overly adventurous but soft and pretty. The woody notes and vetiver aren't really apparent to me.Staying power is good but it's certainly not a loud scent.

idk what it is with this type of musk but it smells so sharp to me and gives me a headache. a very artificial scent, I didn't like it on myself and I also didn't like it on others. idk. doesn't even smell like an artificial flower or fruit or anything, like straight up artificial plastic or gasoline

This is the oil inspired by the Egyptian Musk oil Carolyn Bessette wore. I own both and they smell the same. It’s been discontinued for many years and I think a lot of commenters here are confusing it with the edt fragrance, since they’re both in black bottles. This is not a spray, it’s an oil.

love this. LOVE this. i wear it every day. it is definitely a statement - much in the way my mother's signature is Chanel #5, and you know she's been there because of the lingering scent in the air, MUSC does the same for me. the boys swoon. sex in a bottle. seriously.

My mother loves it and so do I. This perfume smells like something a happily successful older woman would wear, that’s the vibes it’s giving me. I really like the florals in this one.

Love it! No matter how many other fragrances I have tried and fall in/out of love with this IS THE ONE! It's just ME, me not a girl but a Woman, Me-Mother, warm, sensual, complete..

Would love to try this but cant find here in the UK. We have the black bottle NR for her but not this Musc for her.

I am completely anosmic to this. I get no scent whatsoever out of this. I recommend that you try before you buy!
