Rose Musc

This scent is as beautiful as the bottle! Rose Musc is another deep, spicy, rich rose scent with cloves, black pepper, labdanum and patchouli. It’s warm and enveloping and smells very complex. The opening is straight floral: dark roses and peonies, but after the first minutes the cloves and the labdanum join in and add some spiciness and warmth. Patchouli, woods and musk round up the composition and offer a great base for the spices and flowers to keep going for hours and hours! As mentioned, bottle is splendid, a shimmering, pearly gold with dark rose, narrow edges. Keeps the shape of the regular For Her bottle design but these Oriental Musc Editions have a front central coloured plaque and look very pleasant to my eye! A bit more expensive than the regular line, Narciso For Her, but not too pricey for the quality of the scent and the bottle design. I wish this line would be more available for testing and buying. I mean by that not simply blind buying online. I am trying for months to find a place somewhere close to me to try Jasmine Musc since white flowers and yellow flowers are more to my personal taste than rose.

09. June 2016 Tested in several time on skin and paper already, available here in stores already 185eur for 100ml. All i can say is that this is extremely well done and beautiful. Another high class fragrance from the house of Rodriguez. As one revuewer points out in the opening it resembles very much V&R "Flowerbomb rose explosion" but this is obly opening. And where Rose explosion is unbearably heavy on oud and other oriental notes and more of a winter time fragrance for me - Rose Musc is lighter and very much wearable in summertime as well. The opening is all about heavy labdanum and rose and woods but then the scent becomes thinner and rose more delucate and the middle stage is indeed dominated by saffron but the ckoser to drydown the more of musk and rose you get. That kind of light soapy musc with a delicate rose smell, like a high quality rose scented soap, without turning actually into soap itself. Just one simple word: Awesome!! And i really would love to add it to my selection of scents, guess ill have to wait till its on discount. But this one is really good, also in terms of sillafe and longevity!!!!

I love this one! I do generally love rose and sandalwood though. Opens up with a sweet, slightly spicy, rose with a sandalwood base. Then the rose calms down and there is a lot of sandalwood and a honey note. It is a very inoffensive smell once it dries down. I can't smell neither cloves nor cinnamon in here, and definitely not peony. It's probably good that I can't smell any cinnamon here, as that pushes perfunes into the potpurri-territory. This is one of those dark scents that are well suited for winter in front of a fireplace, or during night time in the summer. Very warm and inviting, not particularly complex. I wouldn't say it's middle-eastern - too soft for that. Interestingly enough, closer to the drydown, this begins to smell quite like Timeless from Makeup Revolution (which completely lacks the sandalwood note)... probably the cheapest perfume I own. I love that perfume though, but the same, slightly synthetic smell is present in both of these. Funny to think about that one is 10x more expensive than the other!

Very expensive bling buy. I was too scared to open the box! The packaging is really luxurious. The bottle reveals itself like a glistening bar of gold on a dark red velvety pedestal. The fragrance is stunning. A bit of the NR DNA but really leans more towards Lady Vengeance and Lumière Noir by MFK. Roses on a bed of spices. Maybe its the combo of cinnamon and saffron, but I smell incense. Maybe it’s the laudanum. But it feels like I am wearing Donna Karan Black Cashmere with roses on top. Warm and fresh at the same time. Is it worth the money? I think if you are a perfume collector, you may find many similar perfumes in your collection, possibly cheaper. But all in all it’s a well made perfume in stunning packaging.

Unlike other reviews, I definitely can find the NR Musc DNA in this; in fact at first I was afraid I made a mistake and sprayed the other instead. But then, WOW! The silky, velvet and dusky waves of musk started to flow to my nose and I fell in love. There is a note that is very persistent throughout this perfume, I believe it’s the saffron, that really makes this stand out. I am searching for the ultimate Rose perfume, and new I have added a new category just to be filled in by this perfume: the Dusk Sand Rose, if that makes sense. I was really sad when I checked the price but at some point I will surely splurge in this one!

Love at first sniff, I know it's not smart to blind buy, especially at this price point, but thankfully I am happy to add her to my stash. I think I will only be able to wear it in cooler weather, but it's cosy,woody goodness comforts me. I'd say it's definitely not a safe blind buy, but I couldn't find any way to try it first. Not going to appeal to everyone who enjoys light and musky scents, or even a die hard Narciso Rodriguez fan, but if you love woody, deeper fragrances, it could be a gem waiting for your appreciation. Shame about the price, but I splurged....

I am a fan of rose scents and am lucky to own several great rose perfumes. So, at some point, I thought that I could not find any new one that would not be a linear combination of the other ones I have...besides, I've never been attracted by Narciso Rodríguez perfumes. However, when I smelled RM I found it irresistible - it's such a sexy rose! And the quality of raw materials seems top to me. So I could not resist to buy a bottle - fortunately I've got quite a good price in a German airport free shop, quite cheaper than the retail price in perfume shops.

i tried it 4 days ago in an airport before my flight and the following day when i took a shower it stayed on my arm!! talk about longevity. the more it settled into the skin, the greater it smelt. it did smell a tad bit too strong after initially spraying it but as i said, the more it sat and "developed" the better it smelt. literally gives off arabian princess vibes and i LOVE it. trying to find it everywhere but i can't seem to :( although it is a bit overpriced and over my budget... i am willing to splurge a bit for this!

ROSE & SPICES!! this isn’t everybody’s cup of tea!! It is definitely a winter scent, or maybe for special night-outs; I get the saffron and pepper well mixed with roses, beside the sense of insence even though it’s not listed above; All in all I would say that this fragrance is perfect for its own people, you know as somebody is fond of spicy woody dark and bold fragrances, it definitely works amazingly on both genders, perfectly unisex fragrance!

Ridiculously gorgeous. I keep getting little puffs of this scent. The rose is a deep, realistic and yet distant rose. It’s an accent not the main player. For me it’s that clean skin-like “for her” musk. It’s not laundry. But like clean warm human skin, just better. Soft spices and this wispy rose. Enchanting. Projects well and lasts. Invites people in rather than giving way all it’s secrets up front. Backup bottle worthy ❤️

I've written my thoughts about this fragrance in the past, but I'm retesting it and I still can't decide which I like better- rose musc or jasmine musc. I adore the rosy powderiness of this perfume, the development of woody notes and pepper add to this fragrance in the most wonderful of ways. Always a love. That's all.

This parfum is very nice ..it turns me on ..its a very intimate smelling scent.. I'm going to wear this beautiful parfum when I'm making love with my husband he going to like it....its perfect ...update this reminds me of tom ford rose prick ..but rose musc is way more womanly than rose prick.

I was in love with Elizabeth and James Rose De Mai but my husband absolutely hated it and he rarely complains about perfume. I find it difficult to find a rose that isn’t sickly sweet with vanilla. That combination really nauseates me. This is a perfect spicey rose without the added sugar.

This is SOO good! Its rosy and musky and beyond words. Not really the usual Narciso DNA- even better. Its a lot like Clinique Beyond Rose but ten times better.

Rose, oud, musk. Perfectly blended. I love this on my wife...but i think i will use too. It's so full and smooth. Seems to be sensual also for a man.

This will be my last NR fragrance. The last 2 I got were lovely smelling but really weak (Musc Noir & Musc Noir Rose). This one is more of the same with a bit of spice thrown in and some patchouli to hold up the rose. Luckily the 100ml bottle is on sale for less than half price or I would be very unhappy. What I don’t get is why NR churns out the same smelling fragrances. Unfortunately nearly all of my purchases have to be blind buys, as I live in a country area with no department stores, and few testers in the chemists. I mainly rely on reviews on here, and have so many scents I don’t like. However, getting back to this, it’s nice, typical NR DNA and with a bit more bite to the last 2 I bought. But not much.

This can hardly be called a new scent, because it is exceptionally similar to MFK Oud Silk Mood, at least in the beginning, with moroccan rose combined with the green herbal-woody note absolutely dominating the opening. I cannot say that the perfumer Sonia Constant literally copied Oud Silk Mood, but the similarity is undeniably there, plain to see (i.e. sniff). However, this scent quickly dries down and turns into a spicy mix very similar to - Dyptique Volutes. So, this is a lovely fragrance, but only if you don't know that it's a rip-off of other, more original ones. Btw both Silk Mood and Volutes project much better and last longer than this one.

This evolves in such an interesting way! I looked at the votes before trying it and didn't know what to expect. NR Fleur Musc and Lancome Oud Bouquet? How are these two connected? Well, turns out it smells like Fleur Musc in the opening, and Oud Bouquet in the dry down! Starts with that sour rose that I hate in Fleur Musc, so I was initially unhappy with it. Then as that sourness fades away it sets into a deep, sweet wood scent. In the middle there's something slightly medicinal, but not in an offputting way. Seems rather strong, I only dabbed a tiny bit on myself from a 1ml sample, but it's been filling up the room!

I must say this is very typical scent from Narciso Rodriguez. Smells like rose, musk and wood to me. Quite strong, as usually making a statement. The one that gets attention, not a modest one. I think it's either a scent for mature ladies or hippy girls smoking a water pipe in some bohemian bar. I don't mean that it's trashy in any way, I just find it kind of oriental and attention-seeking. It's on the border of liking and disliking for me, that's the best I can describe, how it makes me feel. It's not a kind of scent I would wear, but I don't say it's bad either.

Woody Rose Musk with some chypre-ishness about it that gives you that oriental feel. Comforting, warm smell, not particularly intense but like heavy water resides in your skin forever; its predominant woodyness makes the scent a bit linear and monotonous, and yet sensual, homely and inviting, though hardly invigorating, indeed, as it lacks some fresh, airy component, and hence might be rather overbearing for the summer. Love in a cold climate for me.
