Audacious

So this fragrance definitely represents Nars really well. People say it doesn’t last long, it doesn’t project well - yes, but on my skin it last for about 4 hours. Just super close to skin and very intimate. About the notes I can totally smell Ylang and Frangipani gives it this tropical banana like scent and a little more Incense comes in along with sandal wood and a quite bit of Musk. Tiare is not as dominant to my nose as it’s highly rated here. I associate Tiare with sunscreen cloying scent and this fragrance is definitely not it. The combo of the notes is very pretty and sits close to skin but again this is one of those intimate scents which I’m sure was intended by Nars since that’s what there brand is famous to promote. About the price. The is no way its worth the high price tag, if you find it below $100 is worth trying. The bottle is very pretty tho. One fragrance that it’s similar to my nose is Guerlains Aqua Allegoria lys Soleia but less intense more skin like scent with a bit of insense in it. Update on performance: it’s been 2 hours and it projects really well too, I can smell it very strongly every time I move around. And this fragrance needs need to project. It’s summer hot and it warms up really well on the skin. 4 hours in and its fully gone, but I was inside the house so outside it might be even less.

Is this worth $200 for 50mls? No. And it's far from audacious, unless the name refers to the the audacity of the pricing. But it is exceptionally pretty. The florals here lean starchy-fruity and milky, as frangipani and tiare tend to do. The incense and woods are sheer and a bit sweet. As a whole, the scent is muted, as though all of its qualities are filtered through frosted glass. This watery, stained-glass aspect is something I've noticed in a few Olivia Giacobetti fragrances, and it makes this lean slightly dark but in no way heavy. Audacious is a mainstream interpretation of sophisticated and mysterious. It's not likely to impress anyone who has smelt it all, but for me, there's no denying how pleasing it is.

I read that Audacious was an abstract contrast between luminosity and darkness...looking at the pretty bottle in the nice black box, it seems it will be one of a kind...well, it isnt..abstract it is, like it keeps you guessing what it is really...to my nose, all I smell is a sweet incense veil,oh so soft...after spraying my wrist heavily, not a trace remained after 30mn..no ylang lang, I suspect the sweet vibe comes from the tiare flower, but not sure.the incense encapsulates the other notes...Audacious isnt typically feminine, too soft to be masculine...like a typical unisex niche scent..here and there, cryptic to say the least..big words to describe it, and the price..it isnt worth that much, or Nars should have done better..it is going back..it doesnt impress me..you buy an overpriced concept of a scent..now if you like incense perfumes, with a hint of sweet, I was in my car with my teenage son and he said something smelled like smoke, that did it for me..now if you want to own Audacious just because, then maybe..as for me, my expectations just crumbled ..the nose tried too hard to create a not quite a perfume, she kind of succeeded at the expense of character.

Audacious. The audacity lies in trying to sell 50ml of faintly scented water at such a price. Nondescript floral water. It’s so light, so faint, so boring. Even if it were a $15 celeb scent I wouldn’t bother with it. *this is my opinion, on my skin and to my nose.

Interesting parfumeur, interesting pyramid, beautiful bottle ... offending price. Nars don’t seem to trust their scent themselves or the house diva was chosen to set the price per SKU. Is the incense (drum roll) handpicked? How do you justify that price? Either way they won‘t develop a following for themselves with such idiotic price marketing. And I doubt they successfully have. This scent was launched 2years ago, they should have the next release planned if this bottle was anything successful. On the upside, with 3x the price per bottle compared w competitors who do without classic marketing and not doing any significant marketing themselves, they only need a fraction of plebs blindly copping bottles for sheer vanity. Sorry for the rant but I just can’t cope with elitism. You‘re not the only one when you assume that I must have a masochist strain being into scent

I was excited to try this, as I love incense, sandalwood, and floral fragrances...but for the insanely high price tag--$180 doesn't even get you a full 3.4 ounce bottle!?!? Then I saw a Youtube review that was gushing all over this, the bottle was sent to her for review (which is fine...that's how they get their product more exposure. Everyone advertises.) The review basically said how great it was without describing it in detail. But then she said the magic words: If you like Santal 33, you'll love this. I'm out!

My all time favorite fragrance. Also a signature one at that. Dark, mellow, milky, woody and floral. Its like a mix of smoke and water. Masterfully made In my humble opinion. But i do understand why it offends people. The price tag is high for something so....delicate and dainty but also dark. Its the dark for me that makes me go back. I keep postponing buying another bottle for the sake of trying new fragrances. I regret NOT buying a second bottle everytime.

Another soft, sensual perfume by Olivia Giacobetti. A pretty, tropical floral profile with a warm sandalwood base. While this isn’t a groundbreaking formulation, it’s so soft and wearable and true to the perfumer’s DNA. Very easy to reach for, I’m glad to have a bottle in my collection.
