Tarot

I recently purchased Tarot. Blind. I heard so much about this Brazilian cologne - a classic from the 80s - that I decided to give it a try. If I bought it about 10 years ago, I certainly wouldn’t like it at all. However, I believe that age has changed my taste for certain perfumes. It has a very vintage feel. Tarot is all about wood. In a decreasing order of intensity (from the strongest to the weakest note), it’s a mix of oak moss, wood, bitter citrus and patchouli. And, very far in the distance, something sweet that reminds me - I don't know why - of orange jam. I was never found in moss, but in this mixture it ended up generating an “incense” effect - even though I know that the cologne doesn't have that note. But it is precisely this intensity that made me understand why they named it “Tarot”. It’s not a juvenile scent. So if you like wood, moss, intense scents (almost masculine) and if you consider yourself bold, you will like it. Eu comprei o Tarot recentemente. Dei blind. Ouvi tanto sobre essa colônia brasileira - um clássico dos anos 80 - que decidi testar. Se eu o tivesse comprado há uns dez anos, certamente teria detestado. No entanto, acredito que a idade mudou meu gosto por certos perfumes. É um cheiro vintage. Num resumo, Tarot é madeira. Em uma ordem decrescente de intensidade (da nota mais forte para a mais fraca), é uma mistura de musgo de carvalho, madeira, cítricos amargos e patchouli. E, muuuito ao longe, algo doce que me lembra - não sei por quê - geléia de laranja. Nunca gostei da nota musgo, mas nessa mistura acabou gerando um efeito "incenso" - mesmo sabendo que a colônia não tem essa nota. Mas é precisamente essa intensidade que me fez entender porquê ganhou o nome "Tarot". Não é um perfume juvenil e não o considero um perfume para o dia a dia. Ainda estou tentando me “encaixar” nele. Então, se você gosta de madeira, musgo, aromas intensos (quase masculinos) e se considera ousada, vai gostar.

Absolutely gorgeous fragrance. I love it because it's earthy, woody, and a bit dark without being too daring. AND it somehow is able to pull all of this off without smelling too masculine. I would describe this as mysterious, unique, and sultry. This is the sort of scent people will ask you about when you wear it. I have scent sensitivity and this gives me zero headaches and zero sinus-related symptoms. It's so pleasant it's easy to forget that it's a perfume rather than an essential oil. Would not recommend for people who like super-sweet or super-floral perfumes.

I had no idea this was an 80's fragrance when I started wearing it in the early 00's. It was a perfect fit for my neopagan goth phase and I imagine that's why I can't consider it anything but a dark adolescent scent, which it absolutely isn't, it's definitely a mature 80's scent, top to middle to base. The orange blossom and honeysuckle give it a very slight warmth at the top, with the nutmeg and orange standing out, but the stars of this fragrance is the middle and base that just overwhelm everything with a heavy, dark cloud of patchouli, citrus, musk and moss. I really like the middle and base of this perfume, it's like sticking your head in a witch's cauldron. The name and marketing for this perfume evoke perfectly what it delivers. If you like 80's/90's powdery patchouli and citrus scents and very earthy and woody bases it doesn't get any better than this, it's precisely that to the limit. It screams autumn and new age. I still have a half a bottle from 17 years ago and I just don't wear anymore 'cause I associate it with a teenage scent too much, but I can see adults and older ladies wearing it if they're the alternative, old-soul type.

My whole body shivers just thinking that one day Tarot existed, and my brain without any active effort the edge of my ineffable smell the odor fragrance that one day on the ground that exhaled Brazil. I do not know whether to cry, I do not know whether to laugh, or even do not know whether to cry when I remember every detail of your bottle, its wooden cover and its pristine coat carrying the strength of their olfactory proposal. If you are looking to Tarot certainly you were already fragrant! I remember as if it were now opening its citrus and bergamot tended to in natura dipped in a big pool of Lavender that exuded citricidade and comfort to cause hypnosis of living beings who yielded to their use and they approached and felt. In his departure there was also a Laranjeira newly florida, planted near a freshwater stream that absurdly gave off smells which referred peace and everlasting love [...] In the body he had more rustic, for having very dry and earthy Patchouli with a dry pepper Lapadas also and more chords citrus that pass this stage and merged with a sense of rational balance that Violet and her acute aromatic content afforded too much when the dry down was reached, ie, combining more than perfect for a fragrance to Tarot style. After 12 hours of intense perfuming Tarot going to exhale an odor so dry aspect as to be nostalgic feel of his farewell, something very musk, sandalwood and cedar wood in a frantic combination never felt before for me. And the big "cat leap" here is for the Vetiver which now identify a good, but at the time I met the fragrance suffered trying to figure out what grade woody smoky and dried root chord was the one who made me walk suspended from the floor. A crime discontinuation of Natura Tarot.
