Nautica Summer Voyage

Dear sniffeurs, In a rather deft piece of perfumed ledgermain NAUTICA re-released this breezy salt-kissed aquatic FKA "Voyage Summer" with the new appellation of NAUTICA Blue Sail (launched in 2017, not in database, notes of: green leaves, apple, saline aquatic notes, sailcloth accord, moss, musk and ambre(gris?). It is as close as we can hope, under current IFRA scrutiny, to get to the original. IF you're thinking about paying $69-$99 USD on evilBay for NAUTICA Voyage Summer, DO yourself a favor and get a 50mL of THIS at your local ____-Mart store for under $30 including sales tax! I remember the original and this wafts only slightly less oceanic, accented now with more velvety tree-moss (evrnyl prunasti) rather than the sour slightly bitter tang of green oak variety (evernia prunasti). I actually picked this up thinking that NAUTICA Blue had been reformatted/reformulated and picked it up hoping the fruitiness was toned down and the laundry musks peeled back sounded great to me-they were the only parts of Blue I disliked. I grabbed it but drawered it and promptly forgot about it. Until today that is... Imagine my delight when reuniting myself with all the Nautica releases since LIFE. Upon sniffing Blue Sail I was I detected whispered memories of V. Summer hitting my nose. What sheer delight to sniff this when anticipating a N. Blue flanker! A leafy fruity top reminds of coming out of the jungle foliage and seeing the vast ocean spreading out before you. The aquatic heart wafts of salty sea spray clinging to the makeshift sailcloth on our little island boat. As we climb in and head out to sea the warm amber sun brings hints of musk to the skin as the scent of the lapping waves cuts through the moss and algae on the bow and completes the "dashing through the waves" fantasy. For the price paid and the images it evokes it is a steal of a deal. At full retail I would no doubt balk at $79 for a 100mL EDT (even with a GFWP), but for two 50mL flacons for under 60 USD this is a no brainer, if like me you like to splash about in aquatic aromatics or woody aquatics. Factor in the performance and this outshines many older NAUTICA releases. Sillage: moderate, slowly softening to a skin-scent Longevity: Above average (5-8 hours) Overall: 4.25/5 I love that the old Voyage Summer is back, as it was the only release from this brand I did not own. I am glad someone somewhere in the COTY perfume division listens to someone or reads perfume fora; as it is nothing short of a miracle that they brought any discontinued scents back. I find this "Sail" flanker to Blue even better than Blue and it pulls double duty standing in for NV Summer as well. Best for warm spring days, summer days by the water (or when you wish you could!) and nights passed beside a driftwood bonfire as a fiery sun sets across the watery mirror-like surface of the Sea. Also sings quite well on a sunny but brisk fall day hiking through the woods with the dogs. Moss and amber and musk always make me think of fall in a forest, here the unknown perfumer used fractions of base-notes to create something more along the lines of shadows from forest trees cast long by setting sun.

If Aquatic is your thing.... This one DEFINITELY flies under the radar.... I'm saying this right now: one of the BEST AQUATICS out there..... Top 3 for sure!!!

Of all the Nautica Voyage flankers this is my favorite. It is not as sharp as the original but the green apple note gives it slight bright aspect. Good in all casual warm weather situations. It never projects but it can get you day off to a nice start, you'll just have to reapply throughout the day.

Trizte me siento por haberlo adquirido, tiene un buen olor, típico de nautica, pero es perfume para la s personas que les gusta pasar desapercibidas. Su duración es mediocre solo 4 horaS en mí o menos. No aporta nada nuevo y si vives en Panamá, te dejará la sensación de ser un fantasma, es decir, esta allí pero no lo sentirás.Al final lo use hasta la mitad y decidí darselo a mi abuelo, a el si le gustó. 5/10= mediocreee

One of the few marine aquatic fragrances that I have liked. Very warm soft and light like a tropical beach afternoon. It is very simple but it is a shame it was special ed and it lasts nothing on skin or clothes. Poor sillage and worst longevity. My bottle now has like 1 oz.
