Pure Nautica

I tried this years ago and loved it. Always had kept a bottle on hand until it became harder to find. Pretty sure it’s discontinued now and I paid a pretty penny for two bottles I found online. But it’s so worth it. I don’t get any of the “Fahrenheit” or “Bug Spray” vibes from this like the others, but I do get a fresh, citrusy, nautical scent that isn’t a typical “blue” or “Aqua” fragrance. It’s unique and I like that. It’s also lasting on me, which is rare for an EDT.

It's very East Asian was my first thought: sea, air, citrus, fruit. It's very subtle. I usually find this style inaccessible, but not this. The light floral notes (lavender, cyclamen, lily) are really attractive; there's a cheerfulness at the heart--Harry Fremont is so good at cheerful--and the refined woody notes effectively sustain it. I dig it, so it's doomed to fail.

Actually this frag has mandarin at top notes and bergamot & Sea notes at the base notes. And these wonderful base notes differentiate it from Nautica Oceans. Nice and clean, non offensive perfect for daytime summer. Silage is good but projection is bad same as of "Oceans". 7/10 for this frag.

Very clean scent though very faint.

I received samples of this today while picking up Bleu de Chanel. This is a very sheer citrus scent with a sea water type feel to it to be sure. It is clean and 'pure'. Strength and Spirit? It caught the spirit of the sea, but its strength: not by a longshot. As the citruses fade(?), some light florals are perceptible and a faint whisper of some nondescript spice is carried on the ocean breeze. The finish is evanescent and leaves behind a woody feel and a hint of vetiver-like soapiness (not Nautica Blue's detergent clean). Now, this is a sample vial and not a spray, and maybe an atomiser would project and mix the scent better, but I doubt it would make THAT much of a difference, since when I was at the store, I sprayed a test strip and tucked in my bag and now-a scant four hours later-I smell only paper and a smidge of soap. This is as close as you can come to smelling nothing... Sillage: weak Longevity: below average Overall: 1.5/5 I am sad. Not because I did not get to write a stunning review for this, or even because it does not live up to the rest of the line (every house has it's bad juice); but because one of my favorite Houses let me down. Many of you members know, it takes something pretty bad to let me down! This does live up to it's name though-pure:having nothing extra added, unadulterated-but come on! Cologne by TM was inspired by a clean soap from Morrocco and was targeted to people who do not even really like 'perfumey' smells, but at least it had character, depth and some sillage. I just applied half of a vial to my clean arms and...NADA! David Chu's input is sorely missed here. I had originally planned to say "Get this when it hits the discount stores if you want a clean scent, on clearance" but save yourselves the trouble. Buy the shower gel and deodorant and save some money, you'll get a better smell from these together than the EDT. Hencefoth I will call thee: "The Emperor's New Cologne"...

First thing that comes to my mind.. Trash. As 'BlackAnime30' said, bug spray and he was actually being generous with the fruity part of it! You'll feel sorry that you sprayed it on. I do have Nautica Nautica (for emergency purposes in the glove compartment of my car) so I don't hate this brand. But Pure was just junk. It was almost water with some pungent smell mixed in it.

I gave up on the house of Nautica a long time ago, this is another reason why.. So plain, so ordinary, so blah! This house has not made a frag that stood out since Nautica Competition the Original in the blue bottle & that was discontinued. Nautica is known for producing simple, bland, frags with little to no longevity. Fresh? Yes! 1 of a kind? HARDLY!

This colgne should never even be allowed to be compared to Dior Fahrenheit. No way, no how, no chance. Fragrantica should remove your comment if you honestly think this scent is like Fahrenheit. Seriously WTF..........? Note to self and others. Please don't use drugs before reviewing colognes on Fragrantica. Thank you for watching

Nautica Pure and Fahrehiet should not even ne in the same paragraph, let alone, a sentence. Cheap, no lasting power which is why it is cheap. Scent: Okay, fine for a 10 year old. Other than that it's junk just like every other Nautica fragrance.

I get a really faint and dry minaral musky ocean'ness at the beginning and it's kind of boring but likeable like mineral spring water. Wait til bergamot to sneak in and freshen up the space. then it gets better but still pretty plain. It's so light and inoffensive (Fabreeze is actually stronger). Spray all you want and it won't upset anyone around you. It's good for basic fragrance 101 or for a person who likes non perfumy scent. The scent is so light and minerally clean. I find myself using it around the house a lot lately, especially when I wake up or before my bedtime. Oceans is pretty similar but with more depth and freshness. Well, I could have stayed with original White Sail and Regatta and skip these two altogether. :))

all i can say is that this is very very close to diors fahrenheit, but not as loud, and fresher, perfect for summer days, not my cup of tea, but not garbage either, its an ok perfume. if you like dior fahrenheit but cant affor it, go with nautica pure, if tou want to go cheaper, but smelling the same, then go with bora bora exotic, all three perfumes smell the same.

I agree this one smells like Fahrenheit with a little bit of orange. I like Fahrenhiet and so I like this one. Longevity is a little poor at the beginning but you have to give it a chance till it adapts to your chemestry and then results improve. Of course there are better options in the market.....

Pure is pure. A very subtle scent of musky clean air. Fresh fruity but not saying like “here is lemonade in your face!” Not screaming at you. Very calm manner scent.

I like this cause i think is a "light" version of Fahrenheit, perfect for summer days.

Bug spray with a fruity note....hmmmmm
