XO Brandy

Opens with a very strong date note, blended with sweet brandy. As the fragrance dries down, i get a more noticeable davana note. The wood/balsam notes mostly intermingle with the brandy note to give it a full body. I honestly do not detect heliotrope, coffee or patchouli, maybe they are just also very intermingled with the brandy note. They are subtle and help give this fragrance its unique identity. In any case, this is a unisex come hither date night smell that i'd consider quite versatile. I would not wear it on super hot days in the sun, or even on summer evenings where it's warm. On those evenings towards the end of summer where you get traces of that cool fall weather, this would be perfect for wearing. Ladies, do not be afraid of this one. It's sweet enough to be quite wearable by women. If you like boozy scents, this one needs to be in your collection. Performance is outstanding, projection is also impressive and lasts a good while. This is an extrait de parfum and performs like you'd expect.

This is a nice scent but a bit too sweet for me, the dates and davana are very very very pronounced!! Would have been a love if the dates were a bit dialed down. Smells NOTHING like black phantom, nothing at all! however this for layering its the bomb. I layered this with Vivamor's ultimate aphrodisiac urghhhh incredible!!! Edit: 23/11/23 Tried my sample one last time yesterday, and I fell in love HARD, smells so gooddd. The dates & davana have since calmed down and the coffee with sugar have made an appearance, soooooo good!! The creaminess of the sandalwood and the warmth with slight resinous feel of the peru balsam = chef's kiss, bought a full bottle on the spot. Im OBSESSED!!! So so good, the perfect gourmand yet sexy scent for this winter.

The opening reminded me of Black Phantom by Kilian and the dry down is reminiscent of Bitter Peach. I’m not sure how that happened lol but I like it! I found black phantom a bit too harsh on my nose. There’s a note I can’t quite pinpoint that makes me not like it. However this is much more enjoyable, lighter and easier on my nose. Another hit from Navitus. I’m very impressed with the brand. I would never buy a full bottle for 195 but with their sale going on it’s worth it!

There are no words to describe my love for this scent! Just an incredible boozy, complex, super sweet unisex gourmand. I wanna bathe in this. This smells NOTHING like bitter peach, that one is just too much. No peach in this and ANY gender can pull this anyway. Except for black phantom (similar dark, complex vibe but NOT the same), the rest of the 'reminds me of' section is just ridiculous.

That date note is killer! Reminds me of MMM Across Sands. With that being said all the notes are easily detectable and blended masterfully. A pinch of florals but mostly spices and sweets. As mentioned it's not cloying as all notes are present. Has that wow factor and it lasts forever. I don't know if the house is still making scents as many have been out of stock for months.

This here was the best purchase of 2021 for me!. This managed to knockoff/tie with Kilian Black Phantom. This smells soooooooo sexy. It's like a sweeter, airy, slightly fresher Black Phantom with huge performance. Hinestly this is a expensive restuarant type of frag👌🏿. Juat buy it!. Another hit from Sidonie😎

This is awesome. Nice date fruit, almond, and Boozy opening. That sugar cane pops in the drydown leaving me smelling like a boozy candied almond. Definitely unisex. Doesn't lean masculine or feminine. Comes off different on men vs a woman. Awesome performance too. Will last and last. Great value also.

Amazing fragrance. Reminds me of Black Phantom but with the booze and almond amped up 10x + aspects of Boss The Scent Private Accord. The date note is a great addition. Delicious scent.

Just received this today. Very sweet & strong, but not cloying at all as it is very well blended. The more I pick up the davana note the more I'm loving this!

This one bad boy finally made it to my shelf , and I can honestly say this is captivating to my nose the dates in this truly stole the show for me on this babes! This is super sweet. so just before my partner came home from work tonight to see if what his thoughts are ( believe me this guy is opinionated a.f like he’s so picky) he came home went in for a hug and says “Kay that effing juice is special you should wear that every day that’s sexy DANG” This is by all means not completely unique. It does remind me of honey oud however, I love it, all the same. Also, you get good projection in for the first hour or two and then it becomes a close up scent bubble The longevity, I can still smell it on my skin, maybe six hours after spraying This scent would be perfect for when you and your hunnie are having a cozy night in with films and junk food (Netflix and chill)

It scared me to try it, as straight from the bottle it seems like it is gojng to be overwhelming. But there was no need to be afraid. Yes, it is rich, sweet, complex and bozzy, but at the same time it is completely wearable. It is a lot like like Insomnia by Faviol Seferi (which is a beast, and pretty similar - boozy rum, coffee, chocolate, patchouli, spices, but harsher...), only way more wearable. After initial application, it morphs into some welcoming fruity facets, must be dates, very pleasant. And give a nice small scent bubble. However, I think I will not keep it, as it overlaps with Insomnia, if I wanted a more moderate effect and similar scent, perhaps I can get away with applying Insomnia only sparingly. Dates in this are wonderful, remind me of Dates Delight by House of Oud.

Smells good but in short the dry down smells like bitter peach from Tom Ford.

Category: Patchouli, sweet, dusty Notes: I'm getting davana, dates, brandy and patchouli. The patchouli is the most forward on my skin and here it is sweet and earthy, the almost dusty, musty quality of the davana and the round, woody character of oak barrel aged Brandy come in second. The dates are there from the get go, but the note is mild and adds just a subtle caramelized sweetness. As time goes by, the sugar cane develops in strength, adding a more noticeable sweetness that mellows out the sharper aspects of the davana and Brandy (their herbal and alcoholic aspects, respectively, in particular). There is a touch of heliotrope in there as well, adding a mildly powdery and somewhat old-fashioned feel to the overall composition. The overall scent impression is that of a glass of some sweet, aged spirit, served on a leather coaster alongside a chocolate truffle. Vibe: Roasted chestnuts. Spiced spirits. Darkly lit bar. Mahogany. Brown suede loafers. Rye bread. Cocoa powder. Acorns. Chocolate truffles. Leather. Oak wood. Maple syrup. Mocha. Pine cones. Sillage: 7/10. Quite a mellow sillage to me, but according to people around me this was easily detected from about an arms length apart. As an added fun fact to that, as soon as I came near anyone they would smell whatever they were holding (bags, drinks, jackets) with a slightly disgusted look on their face. Each time I went “oh no, it's my perfume” and let them smell my wrist, upon which the consensus was that it smelled significantly better up close. Make of that what you will. Longevity: 6/10. Lasted me for about 6 hours, which is a bit of a disappointing performance considering the hefty price tag on Navitus perfumes. Wear: Evening wear strictly, which means by default I wouldn’t recommend this for the office. Would however be totally appropriate for AW get-togethers and business dinners in my opinion. Very much a quintessential fall and winter season fragrance. Appropriate for any person above the age of 20, but probably optimal for someone in their 40s. While this is quite unisex and certainly not off limits to women, it does have a slightly masculine lean which makes me think this would make more sense on a man. Overall rating: 4.5/10. Not a bad scent by any stretch of the word, but it simply isn't my personal vibe. It's deep, sultry and just the right amount of sweet which takes it from your typical intimidating and machismo alcoholic beverage based fragrance to something a lot more unique and alluring. I see this voted as being quite similar to Black Phantom and while I can see why they're comparable and acknowledge their similarity, I don't think they’re interchangable. Black Phantom comes off as a sickly sweet, dusty chocolate that I personally find hard to wear despite its obvious likability - it just feels like a costume, hence why I, in my review of that, wrote that I couldn't see myself wearing it any other time than Halloween or to a masquerade. XO Brandy however feels much more down to earth and a lot less costumey - while this also has a chocolatey nuance from the sweet, earthy patchouli and a similarly dusty feel from the davana and heliotrope, they are distinctly different in the sense that this is a lot more wearable. This smells like a cognac served on a leather coaster with a dark chocolate truffle on the side and captures a sort of warm, autumnal feel that makes me think of a dimly lit bar made of mahogany wood, candles and a lit fireplace. In other words it feels homely and comforting, whereas Black Phantom is almost haunting and remote, in a way that is frankly quite hard to describe. I do think in some ways this carries an even greater resemblance to Etat Libre d’Orange's Story of Your Life, although I'd say XO Brandy feels more authentically gourmand-ish than the other. While I can appreciate this fragrance for what it is, it currently doesn't sit just right on my skin. That being said, I think I'd love this on a guy. It is masculine, but not in a bombastic or macho manner, but a soft, warm and comforting one. Highly recommend for any man looking for a new fall or winter fragrance to add to their collection. Who would wear it?: I imagine this is what Don Draper in Mad Men would smell like.

The scent is really sweet. The dates are on overdose. I like it, but not much. It's not overly sweet to where it is cloying, but if you spray this on clothes it could be. For the most part, this fragrance is linear, it just slowly gets less strong. There is a little bit of dankness with this fragrance from the opening to the dry-down, but I kind of like it. It gives the powerful dates note some character. In terms of performance, this has lasted 10.5 hours, and it still smells strong on my skin. I'm taking it that this is a beast of a fragrance with longevity. Then, in terms of how it pushes, this sits in the air for quite a long time. You can exit a room and comes back 10 minutes later and still smell it. It's nice how it does this. I believe this is a good fragrance, but it's just not for me.

Do not let the notes fool you. This is a almost unmistakable copy of Killian black phantom. I get no almond or cherry at all. This is dark chocolate and It smells so close to black phantom its unreal. If you have black phantom already I would say you don't need this. If you don't have black phantom then you can look into getting this. I get no brandy for me. This is a dark chocolate drydown. Very very similar to black phantom.

The opening is this amazing boozy sweet smell that is so inviting. Super short lived and then transitions to a scented Chapstick, it leaves you w/ a whisper of what the opening was. Glad I sampled this first before commiting for a bottle or swap. I would've been bamboozled if I stayed for the opening only.

Initial spray on smells very good. the performance specifically longevity is very good. however the dry down sucks... if you want to smell like pencil shavings + hersheys puke, then this is what you want.... very, very disappointed. This is just so poorly formulated

I love Navitus but this is awful. This doesn't smell like the accords. This is VERY dark and masculine leaning and harsh.

If you love fragrances like Black Phantom by Kilian then you'll really enjoy this one. In fact, XO Brandy contains about 5 of the same notes from Black Phantom including heliotrope, rum (brandy), almond, coffee, & sugar cane. Zaharoff The Siren is also in this family of fragrances as well containing the notes of coffee, almond, and cognac. I don't own Black Phantom but I do own a clone called Black Widow from DUA fragrances so this was a very much welcomed addition to my collection. The date note really gives it a SLIGHT variation from the fragrances mentioned above. It'll receive PLENTY of wearings once the temperature drops outside.

This is veeery very sweet and very boozy!! The strongest notes to me are the dates, brandy, and sugar. It smells heavy & thick, dark, and super sexy, 10/10 for me. I think this would make for a great date night and clubbing fragrance. As far as similarities go, this falls in the same scent family as Ellis Brooklyn Bee, Montale’s Honey Aoud, and Angel Share. Totally unisex. I’m a woman but I LOVE THIS

Rich, sweet, boozy, and slightly earthy fragrance that leans a bit masculine to my nose on my skin. It is pretty linear, but does become a bit more powdery in the dry down. Really lasts and projects. I don’t love it but I don’t dislike it either. Seems best suited for fall and winter.

Very close to bitter peach by tom ford and sweet dreams by house of sillage, notes do not match what Im smelling, smells like a peach fragrance to me. Nice but I prefer th HOS out of the three I think.

Smells great but very poor longevity and projection. Turns into a skin scent less than an hour. Not fb worthy for me and I think I’d rather have this scent as a candle than a perfume.

A date, almond and marshmellow scent. It smells good. I only see myself using it as a candle. Unisex and skin scent.

It really is a sexy, masculine scent, a women can pull it off if she feels confident enough.
