601 Amber & Gaiacwood

I've had this for about a year now, and my thoughts about it have changed. It's NOT a molecular smell. it's a very delicate woody smell, but it has something very distinctly milky about it. It kinda smells like you're heating milk on a stove in a wooden kitchen. If you have ever heated milk slowly, until the point where it creates a thin membrane at the top - that's what the milky scent is. Because of this milky scent, this scent is warm - not neutral, like Molecule 01, and not cool like Molecule 02. It's also like there's some pink pepper in this. It doesn't smell rosy, but it creates a kind of dry smell, or even a smell of white rice. Sillage is very intimate unless I almost bathe in this, but at the same time, I don't actually know what other people smell. I absolutely love this up close though, so it's an interesting smell for intimate moments, and it won't be overwhelming. Qhat I really love this for is making other scents more warm and creamy! I don't particularly like any kind of sharpness in perfumes, and rhis immediately calms it down like a white, fluffy blanket. This is the perfume that I layer with anything I want to make "this, but kinder" :)

I agree with the previous reviewer that this is quite similar to Molecule 01. It's a very faint, molecular smell - not at all what I usually get from gaiacwood. I DO love Molecule 01 and 02 though, so this too is a "like" for me. The smell is like a slightly sweet sandalwood, barely there. Would be interesting to know what people around me think it smells like. This doesn't have much of a smell though, and I have other perfumes that are similarly "barely there", but still smellable by me and those around me.

This is a beautiful, powdery woody scent. The amber and the woods are truly the stars here, because I can't detect any vanilla, but that doesn't bother me at all. For some reason I thought this would be a skin scent so I sprayed quite a lot on my wrist and wow. Spray carefully! If you overdo it gets very bold and loud which can bother some. But in my book that's just a positive thing though. There something lactonic here too. The dry down reminds me a lot of this is her by zadig&voltaire, a perfume I love.

On a paper strip i almost could not smell this, just the faintest tiny hint of something woody far away. On skin though this is gorgeous! Still very subtle, but there is a warm sweetness coming through and blending in with the wood. It settles into the skin beautifully, smells creamy, slightly spicy and warm. Like a my skin but better smell. Super addictive, I keep smelling my wrists trying to get a whiff of it. Elusive, mysterious, natural and sophisticated!

It is such a comforting scent! And to detect it, you have to scratch your third skin layer to at least find it there. So poor in performance, i am planning to bath in the whole bottle and then maybe it will last for two hours and project something. I am seriously almost in love with it, the woods are perfect, vanilla is supporting the whole picture very carefully and giving it a gentle cozy sweetness, but not the sugary one (boy i usually hate vanilla), rather creamy, milky one. I will try this beauty as a layering support to something neroli/orange blossom like. Actually, the brand itself calls for layering their products. So, let's start exploring.

I think this is a molecule fragrance. It smells like "Molecule 01" by Escentric Molecules to me, which is to say, it almost has zero smell. I don't see the point in these releases as I don't feel like they work on me and if you just want a ISO-E Super boooster for layering effect, than there are a lot cheaper options out there.

This is in my opinion the only horrible fragrance in my collection, and i have fragrances 1/4 the price of this. Horrible performance and boring smell. The only good thing is the bottle, which i dont care for anyways if its a bad fragrance. I dont recommend this to anyone.

So for reference I am a woman. I love this scent so much. It’s woody, warm, creamy and such a comforting scent. Ah so good! I initially was going to buy this for myself but thinking both my husband and I could share it. Unfortunately they we’re sold out. The woman at the store showed me 602. For me that one leaned a tad more masculine, for some reason. Still good though, but I just felt this one was more unisex and would be perfect for layering with other perfumes. I bought the 602 for my husband and occasionally I use it as well, but it’s not a love, as it is with this one 601. Besides the 602 has zero longevity on me, but last for hours on my husband. This on the other hand gives me at least a few hours. It’s so good and for that reason, I will buy it😄
