Flowers : Gardenia

This is a beautiful, masculine gardenia, a more verdant version. Neil Morris has taken the gardenia and roughed it up a bit for us men, complete with the leaves and stems. I love gardenia scents and used to raise them, so I know what they smell like. Mr. Morris' version comes very close...the first blast or two you'll get the lime and bergamot definitely, whick is lovely and refreshing; this settles down pretty quickly and then here comes that beautiful gardenia that lasts throughout, with the cut grass, making it fresh and male. Hay comes later, but it's still a perfectly good gardenia scent to wear for dress up or casual. I loved smelling fresh cut gardenias all day. It's similar to Arquiste's Boutonniere, whch is also a wonderful male gardenia, but that one is accompained by a skank animalistic smell that while helping to make it more masculine, ruins the beautiful gardenia underneath, IMHO...

Wore this to work today and it lasted a long time. Upon first spray, I can’t say I got gardenia, just a big blast of citrus/florals. In the walk-in cooler, catching whiffs of it about an hour after the first spray, I caught some really realistic gardenia, really hard to do in the perfumery world. Don’t over spray this one, or you will not experience this perfume to its fullest, people may say you smell like an old lady. Definitely recommend sampling. Couldn’t wear it regularly, but it's a real treat here and there. It's like a sweet soft creamy gardenia on my wrist that I can catch here and there. I wear this one for me. My wife caught a whiff in the corner of my room where I sprayed it and practically ran to it. She said it smelled like a store she'd want to linger in for a long time. I love it more every time I wear it. It’s like a rich chocolate you don’t gorge yourself on, you savor it in small doses. UPDATE: I wore three sprays at work today. Heck yes. I’m going to do it again tomorrow. One under the collar, and one at about 7 inches distance from my wrists. I loved it. I didn’t have to reapply. This is absolute quality. If you wear this with confidence, you will enjoy it and others around you will too (women especially). More men should wear scents like this.
