Arabian Wood

@librabeing I bought this because of your comment saying it smells like the inside of a piano. My grandparents kept one in their dining room, and I began to miss that smell after my grandmother passed. Thank you for the astute comparison! Now I get to re-experience the scent. Review of Nemat Piano perfume oil: It truly has that bizarre, nostalgic, ashy, aged wood varnish smell in the opening. Peppery and a bit sweet like cedarwood oil. Something a bit resinous, like pine without any of the turpentine aspect, there is a powdery oak touch, and vetiver accounts for the earthy smokiness in the later part of the drydown. Fake sandalwood with warm, animalic musks in the base. Not a realistic recreation of agarwood, it lacks the phenolic and medicinal qualities, but it's a great woody perfume oil. It smells better and more natural than a lot of the other cheap "oud" perfume oils I've tried. It will mix beautifully with other scents.

This, to me, smells like literal, straight tree. As if you go out on a rainy day and sniff a tree kind of tree. It's got that spicy, earthy feel to it, almost sour wood. Wood that is alive. I see that the notes say Oud, and with the experience I have with Oud, I would say otherwise. It doesn't smell like Oud, just straight-up-mf tree. Personally, I do not hate this. I am into interesting fragrances and my skin chemistry has it's odd preferences. Layering this with something creamy makes me feel like I'm in the woods of Seattle with a latte in the rain. This doesn't turn nasty on me after hours of wear. I've sweated pretty hard in this and it doesn't budge. Hope my witchy and tree lovers will love this one!

No resemblance to agarwood based on my experience with the note, which actually makes this oil very wearable and easy to layer (especially with chypre and fougere fragrances). This is a somewhat lighter wood scent; dry, smoky, and earthy like wood chips. To me it sits in a vague place between pine, cedar, and oak, with a pepperiness reminiscent of sandalwood.

So far I've enjoyed all of the oils I've tried from Nemat, including this one. Arabian Wood is quite masculine, very smoky, and woody. It smells a lot like wood smoke or when you burn leaves in the fall. I really love this one. Good for wearing on its own or layering!

smells nasty and too sweet like a sweet wood. it's not real

Bought on a whim, without being able to smell it first (which I normally don't do). Doesn't smell like oud to me. I wear it around the house when I want to smell like the inside of a piano.

You cant go wrong with this series, its just a matter of your tastes. This is a dry smokey wood, the oud doesn't show up until about 3/4 hours in.
