Agua de Colonia

I bought a huge bottle of Nenuco in the “Fresca” scent online, to use on myself. I’ve been on an after bath splash kick, ever since I bought a vintage bottle of Jean Nate a while back. The current version doesn’t smells good to me, so I’m exploring similar types of international products. The “Fresca” smells lemony and fresh, with some orange blossom. I was worried the original version might be too heavy on neroli, which I’m not crazy about, I prefer lemony scents (due to Love’s Fresh Lemon being one of my first perfumes, no doubt). But this scent is citrusy and refreshing. I’m going to put some in a spray bottle and use it that way, since it pours out of the dispensing top very quickly, and can get wasteful and messy. I paid under $25 for a 600 ml/ 20 oz bottle of this. edit- I now also have the original, and love that one too. Citrusy and refreshing, lemony.

As a Nenuco baby myself (born and raised in Spain but living in the US) I was so so pleased to be able to find this on Amazon for around $15!! As everyone before me has said, this is a staple in any Spanish home and has been popular among Spaniards since the late 1930s. Although it is marketed towards babies, Nenuco is fully appropriate for any age group and gender expression. It is also mild and inoffensive enough to be considered a good office/clinic scent. Neroli, lemon peel, and wildflowers are the main accord. This feels bittersweet, expressive, and very refreshing when worn. I find it ideal to spritz after a cold shower in the middle of a hot summer day. The only grievance I have is that it has poor longevity, even considering the fact that it's only a cologne.

The quintessential smell of Spanish babies and toddlers. It’s citrusy and fresh (My nose picks up bergamot and neroli), and makes me feel squeaky clean. It smells A LOT like Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford. Completely unisex, anyone saying otherwise is weird. It’s baby cologne, so it’s not the most long lasting, but does stay on my skin a long time for what it is (2-3h on skin, +4 on clothes). Projection is fine too, the kind of perfume that creates a nice intimate scent bubble If you’re into “clean girl scents” or the clean skin scents trends, you should try this. It smells great and it outperforms many clean/fresh skin perfumes out there (I’m looking at you, 000 by Le Monde Gourmand) and it’s way less expensive

This is a love stretching back decades. It has stopped me from buying so many fresh/green fragrances, because none of them can compete. Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche, even No.19 leave me disappointed, maybe they're too sophisticated and ladylike for my tastes! It lasts for hours on my skin, still there in the morning when I wear it to bed, and lasts the full 9-5 work day. Just when I think it's gone I'll catch a whiff of it. Best of all it fades gracefully, no metallic or stale twist to the drydown- the fate of most 'fresh' scents on me. In my mind it is utterly unisex, ageless, clean and inoffensive, an easy reach. I never get tired of it.

Ah, yes. Nenuco. A staple in the Spaniard baby home. Neroli in its most fresh, citric, refreshing interpretation. So clean and shower fresh. Yes, this smells like Neroli Portofino. NP is a tinge more concentrated, but not by much. I wore this, my daughter wears it and I still wear it when I need a fresh shower clean, zesty, pick me up. Fine fragrance, it is not. Reapplication is required if wearing for more than 2 hours.

My Mother bought large bottles of Nenuco to bring home for us kids, every time we vacationed in Spain. It was such a nice ending to our evening bath before bedtime, we just loved it. I am sure it was an early influence on us, we are all very fond of perfumes to this day. (An all time favorite of mine is Le Labo Bergamote 22... I wonder why ;-))

I've worn this since I can remember. A must in any Spanish home. I love the refreshing, sunny vibe! It's a perfect pick-me-up on a hot summer day. When I want to add depth to other perfumes, I splash Nenuco on right after my shower. After it dries, I layer scented lotion and neroli oil. It's a great combination that keeps it light and fresh.

My favourite summer scent, I buy the large 900ml bottles from amazon & decant into a big spray bottle to spritz generously after a shower, my favourite thing to pair with this is either the alvarez gomez colonia or al rehab lovely. It is so citrussy & fresh, it reminds me of being on holiday in Spain!

clean, fresh, sunshine, white florals - classic eau de cologne with added memories of happy babies :) buy the big bottle and layer several times if you want it to last a bit. i will never not have this in my bathroom and i doubt it will ever fail to make me smile.

Grew up on this stuff and it’s definitely a comfort scent. Fantastic on a hot day. When my sister and I sampled Neroli Portofino at Sephora we both said “it’s just expensive Nenuco”. Whenever I smell anything with prominent neroli I think of Nenuco.

no idea why i literally have the 1.2L version of this but this is what i love putting on right after showers. also masks cigarette smells really effectively (if that matters).

so nostalgic and comforting. a lovely fresh citrus that keeps the mosquitos away ;P just reminds me of the after-shower freshness and hot summer days

Although I'm living in Barcelona for almost 10 years, I couldn't care less for Nenuco. It's a cult cologne in Spain, to such a point their brand partnered with laundry products. Actually, I remember my very 1st acquaintance with Nenuco was smelling some Nenuco perfumed laundry detergent. I was so put off by that aggressive, 80’s cologne smell! I recently gave it a chance and tried the cologne on a warm day. Now, I like it very much! I couldn't find listed notes anywhere, it only says it's a blend of citrus and sweet pea. This is lively, bursting green citrus indeed! Fizzy tartness. Some super mild soapy florals and lemongrass note ground that effervescence. I come to understand why adults male and female alike enjoy this colonia, because that stuff is gender and age neutral. Absolutely not the tender or powdery or vanillic floral often associated with baby fragrances. That may be the reason why I found it unpleasant years ago. That's the sort of base scent that blends extremely well with: Pure Soap or Clean Skin from Demeter; Fresh Laundry or Cool cotton from Clean. Both Demeter's EDT accentuate Nenuco's soapiness in the most pleasant way and add some tenderness that reminds me clean baby hair. Clean's Fresh Laundry smells less generic, while the melon note from Cool Cotton becomes more agreeable. Since it's a cologne with a pretty low alcohol content, it's meant to be sprayed throughout the day as a summer refresher. It's flying off the shelves nowadays, with summer coming. Tourists stockpile Nenuco like mad here and I completely get it: family friendly - refreshing cologne coming in huge bottles - and super cheap. You get a huge 600 ml bottle for about 3,40 euros in the supermarket. It's even cheaper at Primor (an online and brick and mortar toiletry shop). Currently, their 1200 ml bottle hardly costs 3 euros!

I live in New Zealand and I cant find this herw. I have to purchase it abroad. Im inlove with this cologne. The scent is close to 4711. Nenuco reminds me of my teen years. Its very refeshing in summer. And the lemony sent is not sickening. Reading all the reviews here, especially those who are from Spain, Im just imagining that spain smells like fresh lemons. I spray this on my skin after a shower in the morning. And layer it with 4711 after dressing up. And spray again with nenuco in the afternoon. And again at night before going to bed.

I love the smell of this! I was not a Nenuco baby but my younger cousins and my little brother were. My cousins other grandparents were from Galicia and introduced the family to it. When a friend visited Spain, I made her bring me back a bottle. It not only brings back wonderful memories, it is also an amazing after shower/bath scent. So refreshing and uplifting!

this is good for pretty much everything. the notes say spring and summer but it's just clean laundry so it works whenever, as a perfume or as a spray for bedding (my fav use). it also smells like the discontinued(?) KFC wipes. I wish I did not have that association but it is what it is

Mediterranean baby smell. Extremely overdone, but this is one of the pioneers for the Spanish market. Good scent that makes part of the collective memory of many Spaniards

My first perfume :) Still looking for something similar that's a little stronger/will last longer but I'll always have a soft spot for this.

sleeping like a spanish baby tonight

I was expecting to like Nenuco the same way I like Duru Kolonya or Eyup Sabri Tuncer, so when I saw it on sale at a bargain price I bought a big bottle. It's nice and delicate in the drydown, but in the opening I get a strong sour briney note, kinda like pickle juice. It was unexpected and jarring, especially for the first 5 minutes, after that the scent got better. Still, I'll stick to Duru going forward.

This cheapie is the most widespread scent between Spaniards. You can't go across any street here without smelling it. In theory it's a baby's scent. But Spaniards love citrus, fresh, skin scents specially in our terrible summers and this light "Agua de colonia" has it all: it's incredibly light and fresh, can't bother anyone even in the hottest weather and is cheap as chips. Every Spanish woman wears this sometime, some of them only wear this, and many men too. This cologne has a very distinctive smell so you can easily spot people wearing this all around you. This is a classic, everyone is wearing it since the 70s and tit seems to remain highly popular year after year no matter how widespread it is here. I can affirm without a doubt that this is the most popular ever fragance in Spain. If you want something light, citrusy, fresh and cheap with a very distinctive scent go for this. It's impossible not to like it even if you don't love it because it's harmless, clean, refreshing and simple. Ageless and suitable for everyone

Been wearing this cologne for 18 years already. This is a very popular cologne among Colegialas in the Philippines. I wish I can still get this in glass bottles but everything they have in the market is all plastic bottle. It is perfect for summer as it's fresh and clean. I also wear this after a half Bath before going yo bed. Love citrus scents and among all the Spanish colognes I wear ( Denenes, Gotas Frescas, Angel's Breath, Para Mí Bebe ) this is my favourite. I think Spain makes the best colognes in the world.

As much as I'd want to keep wearing gourmand perfumes they can be a bit tricky to wear during daytime in my country’s warm climate and that's where baby colognes like Nenuco come to the rescue! You just can never go wrong with this one, it’s nostalgic, it so so fresh, reminds you of the time when life wasn’t so harsh, works well for you and your younger sibling if you happen to have one, it’s cheap and the list goes on honestly This is the only spanish thing i care about. Call that cologne-ialism jkssss

Rumor has it that doctors have finally found a missing link between frag heads and nenuco babies. The children that were exposed to nenuco at a young age grow to be highly addicted to fragrances. Studies have found that tendencies to purchase Tom Ford's "neroli portofino" and ferrari's "bright neroli" are due to early exposure. I should know. I was a nenuco baby.

Out of all my fragrances I will always repurchase this you really can’t go wrong smells like a fresh lemony clean powdery baby if you don’t know what to wear it’s the one you reach for its a safe one it can be layered with most perfumes and smells amazing with others or by itself

I've had this cologne since I was a kid. I used it during my teens for school and everyone loved it and my friends started buying it. Today, I sometimes use it to go to work or on a hot summer day. It smells nice, citrusy and is very refreshing!

Smells good enough, but doesn't last more than half an hour and it's completely gone, leave it for your baby, don't buy it for yourself. I don't see the point of using this, not even for the gym, I'm gonna donate it to someone with kids.

27 sprays gets my baby compliments all day. I spray it on him like I'm throwing holy water. He cries for a little bit and turns red but, I tell him it's just in the opening. Mid and the dry down are were the magic is.
