Black Hole

Going through my sample set from Nicheend. Black Hole is one I'm having trouble wrapping my head around. Maybe that's the point? It's supposed to be all-encompassing after all, it's a black hole! All kidding aside, I find myself struggling to find correlations to the "reminds me of" list on Fragrantica. The closest to my nose would be Black Orchid and even then that's stretching it. It's a very unusual one. It's spicy, milky, boozy and sexy... sweet, too. But I can't find anything else I can compare it to. It's cozy. Definitely a night out type of perfume, for cold weather. That whiskey/boozy note is beautiful, though. There's a very lactonic element, kind of caramel/creamy but not cloying. Sexy. Dressed up, this would definitely get you noticed. More male I'd say but the rose and musky vanilla are present so I think an assertive woman could easily pull this off. Truly a unique one in the lot so far. I like it a lot. Lasts a very long time (good 8hrs+) and projects well in the first few hours.

The first impression reads as restrained, inky, and herbal in a dark register, then transitions into a warm, honeyed-whiskey nuance. The profile recalls Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey. Think woody and smoky, as if it has just been drawn from a barrel; boozy oak staves, a hint of char, and a soft veil of smoke. As someone who finds straight whiskey too harsh and ends up adding milk, I was especially curious to try this; and it did not disappoint. Moving into the heart, the milky facet becomes increasingly pronounced. Toward the drydown it keeps softening, turning smoother and creamier. There’s also a subtle citrusy lift hovering in the background, adding brightness and preventing the composition from feeling overly dense. Nagarmotha usually makes me wary, as it often reads sharply green-spicy on my skin, but that effect doesn’t take over here. My only real hesitation is the sweetness that continues to drift through the drydown; with a lighter hand, it could have earned the name “Black Hole” in a more literal way. Overall, I’d call it successful and potent; a strong, winter-leaning, cozy wear. Those that voted for Baraonda reminds them of this have broken noses. Wearing Black hole now, it leans more feminine ( handing it to my wife ) It's a bit too floral and musky and powdery for my liking. It's floral in a dark kind of way, which it's nice and perhaps a guy can rock this but, not this guy. Season: Winter/Spring(Cool Spring)
