Trini Girl

Very different from what Nicki Minaj usually gives the perfume world. An improvement. It smells so much better on my mom so I gave it to her and she loves it. Her comments on the bottle were hilarious, she doesnt know who Nicki is lol so she thought it's an Egyptian woman haha. She likes the bottle tho. When she wears it it smells so much like Charlotte Russe's original Refuge perfume, which we both really really loved for years(and still own 3 bottles of it lol) so I asked her if she has that on. I love smelling it on her. It's a classy scent yet youthful, smells sweet but alil "spicy" green to me, intense, must be the middle notes, but dont get any coconut,it wouldnt be fitting anyway. Update: I repurchased this for me. So this is like a tropical sister of Mon Paris, less mature (no rose), more youthful and light. The green notes here act like fresher less spicy patchouli and give me that connection to Mon Paris. On me it smells different than on my mom, which is an awesome quality for a perfume to have. This way you can wear the same perfume and be unique. Also it is close to Ciao by Vince Camuto, less sweet as Ciao, less pink - Ciao is drier yet sweeter than Trini Girl. Same family also as Pink Rush by Paris, which is a grown-up scent to me, not as herbal and green as Pink Rush. I see Trini Girl as a unique fragrance in that league with its own character.

This bad boy right here is juicy magic. Anyone who knows me knows I love a “juicy” scent and this takes the cake! 2005 Escada Rockin rio but way better!!! That is what Trini Girl smells like. I used to wear the original Rockin rio in high school and it was great. The rereleased version from 2011 is a sharp mess and an instant scrubber for me. Upon first spray of Trini Girl I was instantly reminded of my first love perfume. Trini Girl is nicer than Rockin rio though because it is slightly softer and sweeter. I think the coconut really helps to keep this mellow. Everything in this perfume is done right. I’m not huge on floral notes but I love the florals in this fragrance. The sorbet helps to keep it “juicy” through the entire wear. This is going to be my go to scent this summer for sure. Love love love!!!

All of her fragrances: Pink Friday Special and Deluxe edition, Minajesty Exotic Edition, The PinkPrint and Trini Girl are now discontinued. You can find only Pink Friday, Minajesty and Onika in regular stores. Queen is available only in the U.S, You can still find all of them (not the special edition) on the eBay.

I am very surprised. Trini Girl by Nicki Minaj is very different! All her fragrances are sweet and fresh, or juicy. This one is like an explosion of exotic flowers and sorbet. Trini Girl is amazing like other fragrances by Nicki Minaj. Love her signature Pink Friday but this one is so woman-like :)

This smells more green/floral to me than fruity, but it does somehow smell sweet. I think the way the notes interact makes this smell sophisticated. I feel like celebrity scents have an unfair reputation of being sickly sweet or synthetic. This smells more expensive than it is. I'd rate this 8/10.

Ooh a wonderfully fruity,tropical,floral fragrance.Longevtity & sillage are moderate,quite light.The bottle & design are pretty.Smells gorgeous,love it❤☺

First I'd like to say I am proud of my Trini roots, like "Nicky" who is making her dreams come true in a big way in the rap world. No hating on her, the same way I feel about celebrities such as Beyonce or Paris Hilton or JLo, despite the fact I don't like everything they put out there as art form. That being said, I think "Trini Girl" is quite a juicy fragrance. When I tested it at the perfume counter I got those fresh fruit notes which were very pretty and harmonious, reminded me of something....."Tickled Pink" by Vickey Tiel. Then after half an hour it dried down to a comforting milky, creamy lactonic scent(coconut) and as the afternoon drew on, disappeared on my skin. Now sometimes you need to buy something and spray it to get the best in it and not just get a tiny whiff of the juice from a perfume counter clerk. That being said, longevity is lacking on my skin. It's a good light fresh scent. Onika has come a long way, congrats to this "Trini gyal" and for those who love this perfume, congratulations. Bottle is gorgeous too!

Definitely a "fruit-bowl" type of scent. No doubt about that. Someone below me was mentioning Britney Spears "VIP Private Show" and I agree. They are by no means the same exact smell. But most definitely in the same category. It's a ton of juicy fruity notes which obviously bring some sweetness into the equation as well. The only other scent I own from her is "Onika" and I actually like this one much more. Everyone always comments on how ugly the bottles are and well....I agree Lol. They are quite hideous and tacky. But who cares. Not all perfumes are for displaying. This perfume is really pretty and a perfect spring & summer perfume. It's juicy, like mouthwatering. Fruity overload...in a good way. I highly recommend buying this one for spring to wear it all season long and even into the summer. It's beautiful. I voted above with a "like" but it's most definitely bordering with "love" territory. Big thumbs up on this one. It's really pretty. Easily an 8/10.

I tried this bad boy out for fun while being delayed at an airport. I must admit as a scent I was pleasantly surprised. It is wearable and soft. It is not overly sweet unlike most celebrity scents. It doesn't last a long time- 3 hours on me but I wouldn't expect something more long lasting at this price point. This is very much a skin scent and can be an interesting signature. I would get this if it was not in that bottle, but I could never live down the shame of having such an atrocity on my nightstand. Especially that due to the fact it is not long lasting I would like to reapply and that bottle is easy to transport.

A really likable perfume. Sweet, fruity, tropical and cozy. Definitely not offensive in any way because it doesn ́t stand out. Smells like a nice sweet shower gel and hasn ́t great longevity on the skin and maybe the price is a hunch of that. Lovely for a warm day. I could do without the cap on the bottle that I find a bit clumsy. All in all, I really like the scent and I think it ́s great for a blindbuy but Onika is my favorite of the two with it ́s aquatic tone.

I like this! I got a really good price on the large bottle so I went ahead and go it. Smells clean fresh fruity. The bottle is super cute. Even though the doll heads are a bit creepy. It reminds me a bit of Miami Glow by Jlo and LA Glow by Jlo. A mix of the two. Which also means it leans to Maui Fantasy by Britney because that is a total carbon copy of Miami Glow. But it’s got a cool mix of the LA Glow and Maui/Miami that it makes it unique in its own right.

At first spray this perfume is refreshing and fruity. It smells almost like shampoo. However, when i spray it on my skin, it last for maybe 30 min before i smell nothing. If i spray it on my clothing it last for a few hours but it's not very noticable. The longevity is not very great and i have B&BW body sprays that out perform this perfume. Disappointing.

Smells amazing! This smells like watermelon at initial spray like a watermelon shampoo. The creamy coconut goes well together with the floral and fruity notes! This is 10x better than Pink Friday and Minajesty! Good job, Nicki! P.S. This reminds me of Katy Perry Purr because of the fruitiness and the florals.

A juicy tropical fruity fragrance that's very Escada-esque. Bright, tangy, slightly fresh, a touch green and uplifting with just the right amount of sweetness for a summertime scent. It smells like a tropical fruit punch or candy with a slight perfumey-ness. Fun, lively and refreshing.

The most beautiful fruit punch perfume. not cloyingly sweet. like u just picked out some fresh fruit from the trees and washed them with fresh water. A safe blind buy for sure.

Tropical, pretty and cheerful scent! I loved Escada's Ibiza Hippie, and I think it's definitely similar. Give it a try if you're looking for a dupe!

A very tropical fruity scent with blood orange, sorbet and litchi as the strongest notes I could smell. It's the most fruity fragrance by Nicki Minaj, and also the only fragrance from her that I could really wear on myself (I have Pink Friday, Minajesty and Onika - I don't really like the former two and I absolutely love Onika, but it smells much better when I spray on my pillow and bed for a comforting sleep than on myself though). P/S: This fragrance also somewhat reminds me of the ~H2O+ Blushing Orange Shower and Bath Gel (orange and corriander scent) that I really love.

The first perfume that caused me to gag. The first opening smells of synthetic sweetness. Think of those scented rubber erasers. If you like synthetic scents then great. This is migraine inducing. At first I thought it were my nose having recovered from Covid so I let my 13 year old niece try it. She approved and described it as fruity bubble gum, Palmers cocoa butter and alcohol in a bottle. So glad it’s been discontinued since.

The blood orange note is the most prominent one and this perfume is EXTREMELY similar to Britney Spears VIP Private Show. If you like VIP Private Show you will like this one because they're twin sisters. I don't know how many fragrances I have smelled now that has blood orange as a note and every time the result have been the same; They are sickly sweet so I think you need to love VERY sweet perfumes in order to like this one.

This is a lot less sweet and more fruity compared to other Nicki Minaj perfumes but... I do not like this. It smells like cheap shampoo or cheap body spray. Smells very synthetic and the scent does not last at all. Please dont blind buy like I did based on the good reviews here.

Last night I went to shoppers drug mart to get some ice cream for my hubby ad I, and naturally I had to go into the makeup and perfume department so I'm looking at all the Xmas gift sets and I noticed a new Nicki Minaj bottle. I hate to admit this..but I absolutely love this. It is so fresh, ad fruity. Its not annoyingly sweet, but it is sweet like a tropical type sweet. It is absolutely beautiful and I will be putting this on my Santa list :) now that I've explained how much I love the fragrance I have to say that the bottles make me want to throw them through a window. I mean how self absorbed can you be to make all of your perfume bottles be in the shape of you upper body and head. The only plus side for the bottle is that to open it you literally take her head off, it cracks my kids up

When first sprayed smells like watermelon or vera wang princess revolution or a victoria secret body mist very light compared to others in this line. I love the bottle very pretty but thats just me i know a lot of people cant stand the bottles i love them. I love princess revolution so happy to have this as that will be very hard to find eventually. Seems all the 1s i like are so hard to find in stores. So far i have enjoyed all of nickis perfumes and will continue to re purchase. Its a bit like britneys island fantasy if you like those sort of perfumes than try this its not as musky as the previous 1s she released. It could be used with other perfumes to build a scent nothing trashy or offensive here i couldn't imagine people complaining that this is too strong.

In my opinion, Trini girl is probably the most "mature" fragrance of Nicki's collection. Sure, it still has this careless and Young-spirited fruity vibe, but in a more grown up way. I sure smell the fruits, but also something kinda musky or very lightly smoky, which is very very nice and unique for that type of fragrance. The sillage is very poor though, you constantly need to re spray it so people can notice it. Once again, the doll is very beautiful. I am very glad I blind bought it, just like all of her fragrances!!

I have tried Pink Friday, Onika and Minajesy, i felt that they all smelled sort of the same. Trini Girl is the most different out of the bunch. I love it. It is fruity but in a fresh and clean sort of way. It is very fresh and clean smelling, not too sweet and sugary like the others, which i also happen to like. I just love the uniqueness of Trini Girl. I actually smell the apple blossom which is in the midnotes and the sorbet top note.I hope Nicki Minaj keeps on making new perfumes in the future.

Funny enough, before I even looked at this page I thought this reminded me of something Escada would do, no particular one, just had an Escada-esque way about it....make sense? Lol it smells very summery like strawberries almost I do love this and am happy I bought it and honestly all of her perfumes I have liked, I’ve loved some and liked the rest, some of them have been done over and over again by other brands but so be it! This is a nice summer scent

A carnivalesque combustion of exotic flowers blooming in dew under a waterfall. I can't say I smelled anything like it before. It's most dominant note is sorbet and therefore a day fragrance. The opening is sweet where you smell litchi and blood orange the dry down is crisp and zesty. I see Nicki Minaj has opened up her palette to her fans very unique and appealing fragrance. I have the smaller bottle of Trini Girl but will be buying the 3.3 oz size.

This was the first Nicki perfume I ever purchased, and I instantly loved it—irresistible, like a juicy red sorbet or a very fruity sangria! The scent manages to be substantial without feeling too heavy. As many have noted here, it is reminiscent of certain hair sprays or shampoos. (Herbal Essences comes to mind.) Because of this, I imagine that people with aversions to slightly "synthetic" smelling perfumes could possibly find this off-putting.

I only purchased this out of sentimentality. Many years ago, I purchased Ibiza Hippie in Sicily and wore it the entire first year I lived there. When I read this scent was similar I had to buy it. It really is similar only more citrus/tart and lighter. Ibiza Hippy was a little more sweet fruit and muskier drydown, but it's close enough it put a smile on my face at the memories it triggered.

Topnote is light and happy floral, quickly followed by warm fresh fruity middle note. Reminds me of Baby Doll YSL. Couldn't pick it up much at all outside after wearing for half an hour. Still can detect it inside after 2 hours though. It is quick to drydown as far as I can tell. No obvious base notes to hold it and give it longevity, which is fine.

I absolutely love this!! It's perhaps my favourite one from Nicki's collection (that I have so far). It smells so fresh, like freshly picked berries of some sort. It reminds me of The Body Shop's Mango and Strawberry Body Butters! The dry down is nice, ending on a musky, powdery note. I just got this a few days ago and I want to get another one!!

Extremely disappointed in this fragrance it smells like a Glade air freshener that you keep in the guest bathroom for them to spray after using the restroom. It's the most Similar to pink Friday deluxe edition it's fruity but a harsh fruit kind of bitter and extremely synthetic. I recently returned it back to HSN and repurchased Onika.

Yes, this does resemble Ibizza Hippy so if you liked that, this one is close. Fruity and tropical basically. I can't say it was fantastic but its a decent scent if you like fruity fragrances. I think I liked her other scents better than this though but its just me. I owned Pink Friday and I think I prefer it

We got this in at work. It's easily her most gorgeous scent, the beginning is fruity heaven, there's a bit of spice in there but I don't notice a dry down...it kind of just disappears... Out of all of her scents this has the weakest longevity but the top is so amazing that I am definitely buying.

Okay I have a 1oz bottle of this, tried it twice, and long story short- I hate how it smells on me. If anyone in the USA is interested in a bottle sprayed twice, please private message me and I'll happily give it to you. If you want to trade/swap fragrances, I'm open to that as well. Thank you.

Satisfied all my sentimental Escada Ibiza Hippie memories. Fruit sorbet and coconut in a garden of tropical flowers. It's sweet but not too sweet. I'm happy to indulge in the nostalgia of my summer antics before children...preferably with a cocktail in my hand!

I bought the perfume because I loved the bottle at first sight. But then I put it on for a dinner date . I knew I found a new perfume because my husband couldn't stop smiling and telling me how awesome I smelled. Good job Nicki.

Smells just like an Escada fragrance but longer lasting and more perfumy. I would describe it as a “coconuty bubble gum fruity punch”. That’s a mouth full but in a nutshell it’s very strong and fruity. Lol

If you're going to criticize her bottles, go do that on Twitter instead of Fragrantica. This is a place to share reviews and opinions, not to be a whiny hater.
